I am an avid reader who is addicted to books. My focus is twentieth century fiction, gay literature, and current literary releases. And I'm a fan of Big Books (chunkers).
I'm also addicted to Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and Lady Gaga.
I'm here because I love to talk about books with anyone who also loves books, and I'm also here to have fun.
In addition to reading I love to knit, crochet, crosstitch and cook.
I am inspired by my mother who instilled in me a love of reading when I was very young.

Loving the shirt! Not read either of the two books mentioned, I keep being told to read Anne Rice,my year is also starting with a chunker in Wheel Of Time Book 1: Eye of the World. Happy Reading buddy
@@vens_corner Hi Ven. That is my favorite shirt. I got it for myself for Christmas. Anne Rice is definitely worth reading. Interview With The Vampire is one of my favorite books. I've never tried a fantasy series other than LOTR. I really need to give that genre a chance.
I want to read Hawaii and Alaska by Michener this year
@@martinsFILMS13 Both of those are excellent reads. I look forward to your feedback on them.
Looking good my friend. Another super cool video. Michener definitely wrote some chunky books. Happy New Year 🎊🎊.
@Sunnyvalereject24 Thank you, Jason. Did you see that you made my list of best books of 2024? I've read it several times. Sometimes I open it at random and read a few pieces.
Love spending some time with you. Love your voice.
@zeldamarkowicz741 Hi, Zee! So glad to see you here! Big hug!
Happy New year, now thats some big books enjoy
@@backawayfromthedonkey I love big books. They tend to get overlooked when I am trying to reach an annual trading goal. So I made them the goal.
Michael, I am still catching up on videos. My condolences to you. Grieving is so hard. Happy to have you back and hear your thoughts about books. Big hugs. 🤗💙
Happy Reading in 2025! Hope you enjoy your first books. 😊💙
@@BookwormAdventureGirl Thank you. Good to see you again after my long absence.
If a random person is reading this, read Trinity. I read it in high school and it has always stuck with me. I will probably buy it this year and read it through the lens of an adult. Well, adultish. I started Lonesome Dove today as part of a buddy read so that is my chunker for this month.
@@someothercharacter I loved Lonesome Dove. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Happy New Year! I'll try for 10 chunkers in 2025 Michael.
Thanks. Same to you!
Thanks. Same to you.
@@nathanfoung2347 looking forested forward to seeing which chunkers you choose.
Great list Michael. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us 😊
@@bigaldoesbooktube1097 Thank you, Al.
Happy to see you back, Michael, and congratulations on your new life. I hope 2025 will be a great year for you.
@@betw1151 Thank you so much. I'm very optimistic about 2025.
I enjoyed this video immensely. Great book recommendations and congratulations on your new life revival. There is a fantastic novel titled The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne that you should check out. Great story and the writing is perfect.
@@jobuckley2999 Hi Jo. That book is actually on my to- read list for 2025. Thanks for the recommendation.
So good to see you back, and a great list of books! I have read several of them. I have been watching for "Ragtime" at the thrift stores ever since I listened to your review earlier in the year, but no luck yet. I am so happy for you in your new self-acceptance. I totally relate to the feeling of the weight being lifted. Life has enough tough stuff without dealing with self-imposed things. I admire the strength you have shown. Best to you in your move and look forward to hearing more from your channel in the new year. 🙂
@@musicroom7185 Thank you for your encouragement. December was a cathartic month. I feel like a different person. I'll keep an eye out for a copy of Ragtime for you. Of I find one I'll be happy to send it to you.
I am glad how you utilized reading and your channel to help you get through such a tough situation. You are in my thoughts. The Hunger sounds unique. I havent read Go Tell it on the Mountain, but Baldwin knows how to make you feel. Good luck on the chunkers. Loving the shirt.
@TangibleReads Thank you. Yes, reading was my lifeline this past year. Instead of a straw for air sticking out of the water you would see a hand holding a book. 😆
Looking forward to it 🎉
How you been man? I hope all is well.
Hey Michael. Im a late comer to this video. Love the reading. Hope youre doing well.
Cool video A Kiss Before Dying rocks!!!!
Wow man prayers to your wife and yourself. i hope you are doing okay. focus on your wife for sure.
Hi Michael! I tagged you to do ‘The Counting The Days Tag,’ created by To Readers It May Concern and Prose and Petticoats if you’re interested in doing it. It’s on my channel now.
@@JessBookgirlTV Hi Jess. Thanks. I love tags. I'll check it out.
Im still reading this book, but I’ve had the urge to give Paul a call and ask him to hang out - not only as if he was a friend of mine, but as if he hasn’t been dead of AIDs for decades. It’s magnificently intimate.
Hey bud, how's it going?
I've read The Duchess
Great looking book
Great review Michael. :)
@@ReadbyFred Thank you, Fred.
Glad to see you again and hope that our comments and views help with the sad
Very powerful review, Michael. The passage that you read was heartbreaking. Thank you for this review, Michael.
Thank you, Pat. It is a powerful book. I am so looking forward to reading more of his work.
Love the idea of a next book announcement for the challenge. May do something similar but after each read. Look forward to seeing what you read and your thoughts
@@vens_corner Thanks. I'll do my best to stay on top of it.
@@MichaelRomeoTalksBooks As long as you have a good time with your reading, that's the main thing 🤗
Wow this sounds incredibly moving. My heart breaks for people that didn’t feel safe to be their true self due to the hatred of others. This sounds like a very inspiring story and I hadn’t heard it before your video. Thank you for sharing, I put this on my list as I love reading about the human experience and people that overcome difficult times. 📚✨
@@bookstalgic Moving is a great word for this book. Especially when he delivers (ever so gently) the sucker punch at the end. I came close to tears.
Hi Michael, I’m so happy to see you back. I’m so very sorry for the loss of your wife and I will keep you in my thoughts for continued feelings of peace and comfort as you transition through your healing. Your love for your wife is very inspiring ❤. I’m so glad you have your dogs for the extra companionship. I’m looking forward to chunky books this year too and so glad you are back with us! 📚✨
I'm so sorry Michael for the loss of your wife. Sending hugs from the UK. Lovely to see you back. Ragtime is a book I've had for a while but not got to yet. I can relate to you wanting to talk positively about books rather than books you didn't like. Good luck with the challenge.
A Kiss Before Dying is a great read, my favorite of Levin's books, he also wrote Rosemary's Baby, I won't say anything more about the book because I don't wish to spoil it.
@@jimsbooksreadingandstuff I'm enjoying it so far. I'll have to give Rosemary another try. It didn't hook me when I tried to read it. I loved The Stepford Wives.
Somehow I missed this one! Great that you are back with our BookTube pack.
@M-J It's good to back. 😊
YAY! You will finish The Challenge. Great to see you and The Pack! LMAO Don't blame me! ha ha.
@M-J Yes I will finish it this time. Are you up for the chunker Challenge?

I have this book & reread it this past January. As a gay man who grew up in the 60's & 70's, it resonates on so many levels. It made me remember the fear and anger of being gay during the AIDS crisis. I also have his novel "Halfway Home" and his essay collection "Last Watch of the Night". It has been a while since I read them, but I expect at some point I will do a reread of them as well. Thanks for the review.
@musicroom7185 I, too, grew up in the 60s and 70s. The book resonated with me as well. My most vivid memories are of the bullies in high school, the name calling, the physical abuse. It was not fun.
Read what you own is my favorite thing about BookTube. I might do it again starting in 2025. Gonna wait till after Christmas. Now say "15 Major Chunkers" 5X really fast.
@@someothercharacter I tried 5 times fast. It wasn't pretty. The dogs left the room.
Hi Michael, perfect for Non fiction November. Go well.
@@nathanfoung2347 I have a couple of other books lined up that will work for Non Fiction November, too.

So sorry to hear about your wife. Stay strong. I have always wanted to read Ragtime. The Chunker Challenge sounds great.
