This is some hard core road tripping. I think you’re lucky not to have to backtrack to wait out the night. It’s good you have some company. I’ve traveled extensively for business, but never had to go anywhere near that rough. But I have experienced people from all over the world not on a tour guide map, and find people everywhere have a lot more in common than most realize. I’ve stayed and dined in some dodgy looking places and had a lot of great experiences from it, and very few that weren’t so good, (but I never got arrested), but I’m really glad to see you sharing your experiences here.

Hello Tommy, I have been watching your videos for several months now and I am planning to eventually watch all of them. I am truly impressed that you have the courage to visit countries that most people would not even consider visiting. You are a true pioneer that is not afraid of taking risk, you remind me of Christopher Columbus when he set sail to discover the America's . I saw in one of your earlier videos that you are from Hempstead, NY. Hempstead is an area that I am very familiar with, because for many years I was always going to Belmont Park Racetrack, located on Hempstead Turnpike. It turns out that we are neighbors, because I live in Queens NY close to St Johns University. Firstly, never hitchhike in groups. It's intimidating to the driver and they are way less likely to pick any of you up. Secondly, the thumbs up thing is American. In most other places I have hitchhiked, you point to the road at like a 45 degree angle.
I don't think Kyrgyz are intimidated... It's just that hitchhiking is different. It is not a free ride, it is a ride for a rate offered/negotiated when they stop. It is actually ride sharing to reduce the cost of travel or increase the profitability of the driver making the trip. If there are 4 people hitching and there is not room for 4, the car may not stop... not because they are scared, but just because they don't have room. If they don't have room for 3 and stop for one, they may then be compelled to make room because they want to help. If you are 3, it is most respectable to show yourself in hitching as 3. They will not be afraid in Kyrgyzstan, I guarantee that.
This is the greatest youtuber video ever lmao. For context. 2 american guys and 1 french girl are in some real rural end of the world place in Kyrgistan hitchhiking to the chinese border. They find a hotel which is an old shipping container turned into a room which is smaller than a Tokyo motel. They meet some Chinese people who pay for fruit for them and see some funny Kyrgistani Chinese dudes. They then hitchhike again and also btw one dude speaks Russian, Chinese and English within a 5 minute span fluently....thats as far as ive gotten so far!
The hotel apocalyptic scene was unreal…you guys are either courageous or insane to travel that way, the,”el cheapo way”, with no security but at least you’re 3 together and not alone in your journey
Hes actually a moron. It’s turning into just like the guy that went to the Philippines or whatever it was. Hes proving the dumb American stereotype right
It seems like he more or less followed the rules (he didn't try to get off the bus at an unapproved location). I think the Chinese government is not as dumb as the Russian government: they don't arrest obscure[1], harmless YT vloggers, as Russia has done at least twice (that I know of). It's bad publicity and it accomplishes nothing. ([1] No shade is intended by use of the word "obscure". Mr. Bald and Tommy are big-time UA-camrs with lots of subscribers. But in the Vast Scheme of International Relations, they are relatively obscure. No reason that the Chinese or Russian governments should concern themselves with them. But the Russian government is not running the brightest bulbs, if you understand my meaning.) But who knows, maybe the next video will prove that you were right, and I was wrong 🤷
My favorite part was in the same "I went to prison vid" he gets out towards the end and Flys to China. . Man's first thing he did was go to Tianemen square and throw shade at China on camera. Lmao, like wtf

Firstly, never hitchhike in groups. It's intimidating to the driver and they are way less likely to pick any of you up. Secondly, the thumbs up thing is American. In most other places I have hitchhiked, you point to the road at like a 45 degree angle.
@@TeSp00kie1 Took notes for when I'm doing this in 6 years
I don't think Kyrgyz are intimidated...
Great show! Thanks for doing this for us all.
Bro your hotel looked like a set from a Quentin Tarantino movie
Where is the ball gag and the cuffs?
More like a Stephen King movie 🙈
I think this is my new favourite episode
Happy new year brother ! ☺♥ I wish you and your family the best ! ♥
Amazing video as always!!!!!

"would you stay here? let me know"
If your alternative is chilling outside around 0°C and for $5? Yeah, definitely lol.
depends, if he went there in August it would be warmer outside...
Fantastic !!! Happy you 3 were safe.😊
They are not Chinese, but Mongolians from Kyrgyzstan. They just look like Asians, and maybe have some Chinese blood.
The hotel apocalyptic scene was unreal…you guys are either courageous or insane to travel that way, the,”el cheapo way”, with no security but at least you’re 3 together and not alone in your journey
Is this a trying to go to prison challenge channel? 😂
But the Russian government is not running the brightest bulbs, if you understand my meaning.)
But who knows, maybe the next video will prove that you were right, and I was wrong 🤷
Yeah, he acts like a douche. People are pretty nice to him considering the way he behaves.
My favorite part was in the same "I went to prison vid" he gets out towards the end and Flys to China. . Man's first thing he did was go to Tianemen square and throw shade at China on camera. Lmao, like wtf
@@dustman96 he's american, they all are like that, don't be jelly ;))))
Awesome video!
The more I watch the closer I get to being debt free and traveling the world without a worry for the rest of my life
Thank you for the post Tommy, love your videos.
Old style, no smartphone, adventure. Love it!
This was like some videogame side quest action Tommy 😂
Stay in the strange saloon town before moving on to the next map area 😅
It is a shame that governments cannot get along, but people to people can get along just fine minus the politics and hidden agendas.😅

TOMMY! Happy New Year! I really enjoyed this video as it shows everything that you do to take us on adventures is not always glamorous and VIP. Thanks for all you do to show us places that we would never be able to imagine other wise. P.S. The French Girl was really mid for you to be taking the liability of her keep blowing her nose into a tissue the entire time and get your trio quarantined. She needed to be more respectful when it strangers' vehicles - those drivers don't want to get sick.
Thanks for a year of great videos! Happy 2025!
感谢,很好的视频,从未想过的角度过关,一整天过关,真的很复杂了,应该是因为人少管的严,并不是通常游客会走的路。只能说幸好是夏天!
Hell yeah man love your stuff, love small brained Americans shit what a fate collab. Happy new year to anyone who reads this!
Outstanding video. Really enjoyed it and thanks so much for sharing.
The Chinese were really cool to share their watermelon. Big ups to the Chinese truckers ! That hotel was super sketch. Sorry that French girl ditched you right before the border crossing that was sus. People seem to be friendly. Amazing how many border checks. I thought that was a safe area of the world. Great adventure so far. I’m totally enjoying your vblogs. Keep it up.
sharing like that is never out of our true heart. we either were told to do this since we were little, so it became a habit, or do it to show our "face", show that we are "hospitable"
A lot of these chicks in his videos are working girls so they are sus to begin with.
She showed up again later in the "prison yard" didn't she? I think she just left earlier than them/didn't want to walk.
The truckers even pay for their hotel "rooms".😂
@@EnnTomi1 You must be fun at dinner parties.
I'm really impressed how you manage to take everything in stride.
Tommy, can you tell us more about why Erica was there, and is she traveling for fun or doing the UA-cam thing?
Hey :) I met Tommy and Connor in Sary Tash the night before our crazy adventure, I also wanted to hitchhike to the border so we went together. I'm traveling for fun for a year :)
@@Erica-Bdrgood luck and safe travels.
@@Erica-Bdr I hope you enjoy your travels and that you will be safe!
I’ll comment on that; God Bless the honest man!
Should of paid for the “hotel” in bottle caps 😂
Haha that’s exactly where the US is headed. Fallout style.
yeah shit looks like straight out of fallout
@ good thing I’m no where near the US or any potential fallout zone. But always good to carry some iodine tablets, just in case 😉
