No info what are you doing, no info why are you doing it as you did. No info about mic... i have learned nothing from this video and it was the first match on Google. Please rename video "How to cut and strip the wire"
We’ve only had the cameras up and running for a short time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe So far we love them! I got the outdoor mounting kit for them and they were easy to install. Once you download the app, it walks you through the very easy set up. The clarity, and range is awesome. I am thinking seriously about adding another camera or two to my 3 camera system. The price is lower than a lot of comparable systems.
Hi, The Cam powerd via POE (Power Over Ethernet). He is not connected in this tuturial. The Mic got 12V DC throuw Mic Black jack and from Cam White Jack (look at time 3:00)
i've tried using the same power jack that came with the camera but it seems to be only a power IN jack. something strange happens. i power my hikvision camera via POE so the power jack is free. using a multimeter i check for power on the jack and yes it register 12v dc, so i try to power the microphone with that camera power jack. but as soon as i connect the microphone the power "drowns down" like it disappears, no more power coming from the camera's power jack, so i have to use an external power supply to feed power to the microphone. i do the same connections. white from the micro to camera's AUDIO IN, red from the micro to + power jack, black from the micro to both - power jack AND camera's GND IN (cause a common ground/shared ground). but when i do this no power comes from the camera power jack.
@@zitfrit I am in the same situation. I find that there is 12VDC available coming from the connector of my DS-2DE3304W-DE. I figured "why don't I just use this 12v for my microphone?" Well it does not work. How do I get power to my external microphone when using POE to power the camera? Why is this so ass backwards? I have to run 12V to my camera which already has POE??? What the hell???
I'm late to this party, but I though those cameras with the audio connections HAD a built in mic. Now that I see it might be even worse... I just want a mic to capture audio dangit!
The red cable is power in, the black one is power out. This is not going to work like shown in video. The proper way to make it work is: Connect DC 12 to red cable then connect black to the white cable of camera. One power source will power mic and camera together. DO NOT USE POE FOR ETHERNET in this scenario.
Is it me, or am I thinking it's a bit strange to have a video about connecting a microphone to a camera, and the video is completely silent?
Not just you.
probably he is to shy to speak ;)
LOL's LIke I guess it didn't work !!!
is that ip cam support for audio ? or just ip cam regular ?
Which camera model do you

hahahaha so true, totally useless 🤦♂️
i don't have a separate power source for this, anyway to get a DS-2CD2145F-IS cam working without a powered mic?

Demonstrating that a microphone can work passively (without power) would have been a much better video!!
Does someone do this steps and work? Coz i did that and theres no 12v output from ipcam
the ip camera DS-2CD2142FWD-IS is not equipped with an internal microphone? thank you!
how is that cam powered? is that a dc splitter on mic ( red and black jack)?

Doesn't Hik sell a mic that just plugs into these terminals?

@@etdizzle10 any luck with this? I'm trying to figure it out too.
@Eric Danielson which cam do you have?
@Eric Danielson thanks

I have no DC power there only POE any way to get a mic working from the POE power while it also powers the cam?
