i have an engine x that conforms to u.k regulations. i unlocked the throttle and you can use it to pull away and then start pedaling that gets rid of the delay. i use it on assist mode 3 which is enough for most situations and the battery will last for ages. i use a topeak explorer bag that can carry spare batteries and has a pannier style system for storage. i had to modify the adapter though to make it fit to the rack as mine has the bigger tubular bars but my genius, a hacksaw and some longer bolts soon solved that! im a big heavy guy and that '250' watt hub motor had no trouble pulling me along at all. for £900 its an absolute bargain and built like a tank!
@@arbin_fits5996 Officially any bike with a motor over 250 Watt is illegal or should have license plate. I live in the Netherlands. However they cannot see the difference when you are just cruising by. Also lots of food delivery kids use these bikes now, I suppose with 250 Watt motor and no throttle. A few questions. Are they both powerful enough for two people? would they tip over with an extra person on the back? Thankyou for your help. Much appreciated
If I had to guess, they probably said it maxed out at 25 so that they wouldn't have to register it as a class 4 electric bike which usually requires some extra stuff to be able to legally use. Either way, not complaining
@@BulletBarry It looked like the display defaulted to km/h when you showed it later in the video. 39 km/h is just barely under 25 mph. Did you have the mode changed when you were testing it?
Mine came in folded with both tires installed and same for the stem, made assembly very easy. You gotta raise up the seat, otherwise your knees will hurt.
Hello, i’ve watched a lot of reviews on this bike, and looking to buy it? but whenever i go to the bike link, it says “250W” in the specs, what’s the matter of that.. isn’t it a 750W?
Oh my goodness 🤣 You should not have bent the carrier it is tricky to find but believe me the carrier should have fit just fine 😂 I had as much trouble assembling my the bike. Nice color
The hydraulic brakes require way less adjustment then single adjustment mechanical. I can’t for the life of me adjust my single mechs! You do have to bleed these hydraulic brakes tho but they are self adjusting and there’s lots of benefits to them. Just means you aren’t constantly adjusting these and that’s so nice. Considering v brake Walmart bikes requires less adjustment then some electric bikes is crazy. Especially since the brakes are usually more expensive. However just cuz they have good performance doesn’t mean in my opinion they’re high quality. High quality is reliability without many adjustments
i got it, much easier for me somehow.. tho im 15 years old, ther handlebars, u said they pointed upwards, u can js rotate them if yk what i mean, nothing of mine was smashed, it was droven, not shipped.
That's a typical whining negative comment. A modern li on battery will last around 600 charging cycles depending on how you use or store. That's years for the average rider. Then simple but a new one. Cost around £300. Or buy a spare one with the bike if you need Extra distance. How about electric cars?
Bullet Barry: the advid electric bike collector and specialist
hahaha turning into that! Not gonna complain XD
Thanks for giving mountain bikers a good laugh. You did everything the hard way lol
hahaha damn it
Great video. Hope you are enjoying the bike. I just got the Engwe Engine Pro. LOVE it!!
I would be so nervous with a cat walking around like that 😅.
Great bike and review!
I've ordered mine yesterday can't wait for it to arrive.
Not in Ireland 🇮🇪 50km all day great bike
I bought one and love it. I have a XP 2.0 and more ebikes. I changed the front brake to hydro.

Thanks "PC master race" Barry :))
sure thing!
fun fact: for bikes like this you actually need a moped license in the Netherlands
that's ridiculous!

@@fredstead5652 not sure where you read that but it’s not true. The rule you’re talking about applies to only electric scooters not e-bikes.

When are you going to do a video on the Stark drive, I know you have access to one.
you wanna help me make it!
the bike looks like it would hold up relatively well don’t know if i’d have the patience because of the poor instructions included with the bike
it's easy enough, I just wish they sold it in it's broken down form! That took a while
zips me around. and im 360 pounds

I've been thinking of buying an electric bike for commuting to and from work since gas prices are so high
smart idea right now!
this is the one
Looking for a long term review. Anyone? So how is your bike after 4 months?
Other reviewers did think this highly of the bike.
38mph, are sure you wasn't looking at kmh
I have the exact bike and get around 25mph top speed.
These are right around a grand on their website, not $1399. FYI

Pass doesn't matter about reaching 38mph if u pedal it literally has no toque hence takes forever to even do 25mph!
You are reviewing the EP-2 Pro, not the bike on the link you provided. The link is for the Engine Pro Upgrade. Come on, man!
lots of loose screws that needed to be tightened on mine
WHY WOULD THEY EVEN SEND YOU A FREE EBIKE FOR REVIEW ... LOL
Good,

Wouldn't an ELECTRIC bike not be very, if effective at all on the GROUND tho?🤔
I'll like to see what happens in 2 years when the battery dies.
I get a new one :D
