Help us out by voting in our Community Poll here: ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxFIpB6P4COL-qZaWYpY3qks1P505g3XMp Thank you! So, who's winning the Conn Smythe as the MVP of the Playoffs?
This is going to be a fascinating series. In terms of storylines, this is like the 2009 Penguins (Panthers) VS the 2019 Blues (Oilers). I'm thinking the series will be a long one with the Panthers coming out on top in 6 or 7 games.
As a neutral, I'd be happy to see either lift it and I'm just hoping for a good 6 or 7 game series. Edmonton has the storyline of getting the greatest player of his generation's name etched on the chalice and returning it north of the border for the first time in more than 30 years; Florida has the chance to get their first flag and cap off a growth narrative that I don't think anyone expected three years ago. I'm tipping Cats in six with Barkov for the Conn Smythe. If Edmonton win it the natural urge would be to hand the CS to McJesus, but I like Bouchard for the award on that team.
I think a lot of people underestimate the Oilers. We were told both Vancouver and Dallas were going to chew them up with their depth and it didnt happen. Expect a wild first three games and watch for lineup adjustments from Knoblauch and we will see what happens.
Nobody is underestimating the Oilers. These are the last 2 teams. One of them has to win. This prediction has the Panthers winning I have seen many others choose the Oilers. Just because the same type of terminology is used to describe why they think the Panthers will win doesn't mean it the same as previous series. There are just so many ways you can describe a prediction. I've seen some people predict a sweep by either team, anyone who predicts the Panthers or Oilers to win in 4 isn't giving the other team the respect they deserve. It will be a great series, good luck!
The Bolts and Bears were the weakes teams with regard to defending in the entire mix. None of the opponents can be compared to the Kings which were 2-1 in the 23/24 season against the Panthers.
Hi Nick it's Mike Perillo it's been a while since I commented on your videos but,I do watch. I also know this video is two weeks old and season is over (GO Panthers) I loved both teams. I have a loaded question. I team from Canada has not won the cup since 93. All Canadian teams have great teams to win including McDavid. Any way do think the NHL have something against teams from Canada.
Hey Mike, thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a great time watching the Final, and I'm glad you're happy to see the Panthers lift the Cup for the first time. I don't read too much into the whole anti-Canada narrative with the NHL, but a Canadian Stanley Cup Champion is LONG overdue 🇨🇦 I also wish there was a way to add an 8th Canadian team, especially since we'd love to see the Nordiques uniforms back on the ice.
@TwistedWristerHockey Honestly I wish Florida Panthers would being back there old logo unless they did with the Reteo's and I miss it. My opinion bring them back next season to honor the team for winning the cup for the first time. Plus bring back John Vanbiesbrrouck.
I don't think I've ever been more interested is a finals as now from a analytical POV. They're so different, Florida has the better team but Edmonton has the better players. I think Florida takes it but Edmonton could shock the world too as they did with Dallas.
This year final based on skills and big names will be the best in years, also Canada vs USA. Lots of storylines... will Hyman surpass the 19 goals record? Will McDavid win or lose his First Stanley Cup? Will bouchard break the points record in playoffs for a defensemen? Will Corey Perry jinx his team again in the final for a 4th time? Will the Panthers lose 2 straight year in a row when they've been the most all around best team for 2 years in the playoffs?
Physical FLORIDA v Technical Oilers. WHOEVER maintains the MOST DISCIPLINE. If Oilers stuck to their plan- they win. Florida HAMMERS them and maintains a FASTER pace, remain disciplined- AND as long as they don’t CHASE the puck, vs Oilers that don’t chase the puck, they are killer passers, so comes down to the most disciplined thru the series.. CHEERING for PANTHERS. Watching two very different tactics at their best disciplines, should create a very long back n forth series.
Panthers are not losing, people 😂 They are the hungrier and best team in hockey. You’ll see soon enough. I think it’s a clean sweep 🧹 Canada is so in denial that it isn’t even funny. Maybe one day Canada will be good at hockey, but I doubt it. #CupsGettingATan Count on it
Dude. This screams 2008 Penguins vs Red Wings. Pens had all the talent in the world but didn't beat the Wings. The next year they did. I think the same thing happens here. Panthers win it, yet it's just a temporary block for Edmonton.
who’s gunna get the cup?… the focused, determined, unsatisfied team that was so close last year?… or the star, and one of the best ever looking for his first stanley cup with not much time or many chances left?
Panthers in 5 with Tkachuk winning the Conn Smythe because he'll turn it up to 11 in the finals. He was SO angry that he couldn't play in the finals because of the injury last season. I expect him to be on absolute FIRE.
I was being generous to the Oilers in giving them a game. The only reason I gave them one is because Florida likes to start super slow game 1 so that's the only game I wouldn't be shocked the Oilers take. But with Skinner in net the Oilers are getting destroyed
With the 3 days rest between game 3 6 7 instead of 2 games, it will advantage the Oilers a bit. Panthers physicality will work but Oilers will have 1 extra day to heal up and rest in between important games
he will be lucky to get a point in the series. He's gonna be hammered and shut down. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets injured and leaves the series. Florida is gonna be looking to hack the hell out of him and Leon. Cats in 4 straight of total non contest games - hand them the cup right now and spare the Oilers the complete embarrassment.
@@tonymeehan7859 No way EDM's getting sweeped. If FLA wants the cup they're going to have to go through a war of a series to get it. If no one can hang on FLA side one on one with McDavid who's the best player playing in the finals this year by a mile it's basically game over for FLA.
@@landen3578 FLA had to play total top tier teams. Oil didn't. Oil got lucky in a few games. They are going to need more than luck to win even a game against the powerhouse cat team. It wont even be close, Oilers wont even know what hit them
@@tonymeehan7859 The Oilers are a power house team possibly on the same level as FLA. They had 3 fewer wins than FLA during the regular season and could've possibly had more given EDM was on point playing well every game. EDM has lots of unseen advantages heading into this series.
I mean not really, Hyman has a lot of goals but almost zero assists and he doesn't do any plays, doesn't play on the PK, doesn't move on the powerplay... just like his goals on the regular season... 80% of them are as a result of McDavid doing all the work for him and him just 1 tapping like 40 of his 54 goals in the regular season. I say this as a Hyman fan
Only way Zach will win the conn smyth is if he has like 3 overtime goals in the finals, or score about 5+ goals to tie or break the 19 playoffs goals record
Bobrovsky MVP. Cats in 4. Oil dont even show. They will be begging for FLA to end it with a shot to the back of the head.....this series isnt even gonna be close. Bobrovsky gets 2 shutouts

I seriously doubt that there will be a sweep.
It's gonna be a hard hitting series!
@@wakemiamigreatagainliterally read any other comment.
this is honestly a finals matchup where whoever ends up winning i'll be happy for, it's gonna be fun for sure
In the end, it all comes down to which goaltender gives up the least goals to win. A lot can happen in a best of seven.
Bob and Floridas depth are just too much after 2 games
Panthers being almost even in goals for while facing vasivlesky, swayman and Igor. Good luck skinner
Skinner is giving up 4-5 per game. It will be a completely lop sided series

This year's cup is destined to end with Florida in 5 or 7 or Oilers in 4-6 imo... I think either team will win the cup at home

MVP could also go to Bouchard. 3rd in scoring as a d-man? Pretty impressive.
