@@lowtierduster-7254 I didn't criticize the Oilers, I said that they're hated by teams (and fanbases) they have a history with. Besides Perry and Kane, most of the players are pretty likable. Your arrogance and insecurity is what I saw from 90% of Oilers fans during this playoff run. Don't feel sorry for them one bit, they deserved the heartbreaking finish they got.
Habs are the Barcelona of the NHL (not US sports, I know). They're both historically dominant teams with deep ties to a region with a historically oppressed minority language community with players both from the local regions (Québec and Catalonia) and also many legends from outside as well.
The Edmonton Oilers are the Green Bay Packers of the NHL. As someone who grew up in Edmonton we lived and died hockey, non-stop even in July and we were (until Winnipeg came back) the smallest market.
I love how creative this video is. I might have compared the Vegas Golden Knights much more to the Houston Astros on reputation and hate alone, but I think the histories make sense to compare them to the Lightning. Also, I compared the SF Giants a little bit more as the Chicago Blackhawks - same logic of a long drought, the team breaking their drought and forging their dynasty in the mid 2010s (with 3 titles in non consecutive years), and then fading out at the end of the decade only to never be that good this year. Otherwise, I think most of the comparison are very apt.
Here in England, the maple leafs are definitely the Tottenham Hotspur in terms of having a promising lineup, hype and attention every season yet continuing to botch every single season, except for when they did win a trophy back in 08. Though it was a unimportant cup that nobody really gave a shit about so it's really nothing despite it being atleast something.
Are you trolling me wearing that Seahawks hat? Bro! What a PHENOMENAL video! Toronto/Dallas Cowboys; Edmonton/San Francisco 49ers; Philadelphia/ Miami Dolphins; Montreal/New York Yankees; San Jose/ LA Chargers l; Nashville/ Indiana Pacers are on Point. Utah/ A’s or Raiders makes sense considering the franchises moving locations. In the Zone 98’ I owned that game. I hated it.
In the 2000s, I remember fans said the Devils and Spurs were the same team. Both were not exciting to watch (Devils with their neutral zone trap and the Spurs with their defense first mentality) but won a lot of championships.
As an Avs and Broncos fan, as much as I hate the Ravens, that comparison is SPOT ON. And to add as a Sharks fan...yeah...that Chargers comparison is also spot on...
As a Chiefs fan, they used to be the Leafs prior to Superbowl 54: - last championship in the 60's & 70's - always uncannily choking in the playoffs, unable to get past round 1 - an elite scoring trio (Nylander/Matthews/Marner & Mahomes/Kelce/Hill) - second fiddle to a Boston team in recent years Now they're like Tampa of the last few years: - 3 finals appearances (Tampa vs Dallas, MTL, Colorado, KC vs SF x2, Philly & Tampa) with multiple championships, 1 back to back - big trades for pieces to keep the success rolling (Jeannot, Goodrow, Hagel & Paul trades for Tampa, Frank Clark, Orlando Brown Jr & Toney trades for KC) - a monstrous playmaker who is considered a whiny pest by quite a few (Kucherov, Mahomes) - a great defensive veteran (Hedman, Chris Jones) - here's a stretch: a young center who's among the best in the league (Point, Creed Humphrey)
Better comparison with the Wild would be their NBA brethens the Timberwolves. Both are still trying to advance to the their first championship round. Both were expansion teams that replaced original Minnesota teams that moved (North Stars and Lakers).
Maple Leafs could be compared to Arsenal (Premier League), it’s not a surprise when they choke in another heartbreaking manner. Lightning are like the Chiefs currently (although not as dominant). Was shit but now has experienced a dominant run. Sharks are like the Vikings/Suns. They’ll do enough to be considered a good team that can’t win. Kings are like the Houston Rockets during the ‘90s. No one expected them to win and to this date, both teams are lowest seeded (Houston at 6) and Kings (at 8) to win a title. Ducks- Anaheim Angels
The Montreal Canadiens are more like the Chicago Bears. Won a thousand Champions in the stone age but haven't won a modern championship in 30+ years, and have been basically dog shit since the last championship.
No one expected the Knights to win? I was dreading the conference finals and the SCF cause I knew Vegas was gonna take it. I don't think many people were surprised lol.

Oilers are indeed the Niners of the NHL, loaded with talent and star power but always come up short or at rock bottom since the 80's.
And hated by the fans of the northern West Coast and Los Angeles.
@@protoman1365hey man if you somehow beat the oilers there is 0 chance you go further than that

pretty accurate from a Broncos,Avs and Nuggets fan

Wow, I didn't expect my spur of the moment unexplained comparison to get a shoutout here!
The Edmonton Oilers are the Green Bay Packers of the NHL. As someone who grew up in Edmonton we lived and died hockey, non-stop even in July and we were (until Winnipeg came back) the smallest market.
As a Wings and Lions fan I think you nailed both of them.
As a Colorado native, the moment you mentioned the Rockies, my immediate thought was:
“Oh no, they trash”
I would say the penguins have the legacy of michael jordan and the bulls if it was spread out across 40 years. Right now they're in the last dance era
Thanks for the shout out, and your welcome for providing some suggestions for this video
You were a life saver several times over 😎

the league cup? sure, it's basically just a step above super cups, but id still be pretty pissed if my team lost in the final
You ought to draw player comparisons in a video. Example: Wayne Gretzky is the NHL’s version of Michael Jordan. (But keep it current players only.)
Are you trolling me wearing that Seahawks hat? Bro!

Yet to watch but i just had a convo earlier today about how the Senators are basically the wizards in a few years

To compare TOR to DAL and not mention delusional and excessively loud fans mean you dont undrrstand the goal of the comparison
Love this video, can't say I disagree with any comparisons. The Minnesota teams all being the same is so funny lmao
Maple leafs try not to choke challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
As a Chiefs fan, they used to be the Leafs prior to Superbowl 54:
- last championship in the 60's & 70's
- always uncannily choking in the playoffs, unable to get past round 1

- a monstrous playmaker who is considered a whiny pest by quite a few (Kucherov, Mahomes)
- a great defensive veteran (Hedman, Chris Jones)
- here's a stretch: a young center who's among the best in the league (Point, Creed Humphrey)
Awesome video dude, not sure if you've done a video like this yet but could you do your Top 5/10 favorite NHL seasons?
I made the video!!!
I appreciate your contribution!

This was a fun one.
As a Sharks/SF Giants fan, that Kings comparison is pretty accurate, even if it does make me want to take a chemical shower after thinking about it.
I've sat on that one for years, too. I hear ya though!
Is there a reason the names of the Pirates players are censored?
I was expecting VGK's comparison to be Astros. Everybody hates Astros. lol
That makes plenty of sense 💯
The Montreal Canadiens are more like the Chicago Bears. Won a thousand Champions in the stone age but haven't won a modern championship in 30+ years, and have been basically dog shit since the last championship.
I would probably compare the golden knights to the Toronto Raptors because when both the raptors and golden knights won no one expected it
No one expected the Knights to win? I was dreading the conference finals and the SCF cause I knew Vegas was gonna take it. I don't think many people were surprised lol.
I think you’re confusing year 1. We didn’t win that🤣🤣
Canes=raptors
