While I'm so grateful Kelli's performance in Carousel was captured by camera (an amazing production), I wish she would also be in a cast recording of this marvelous score. She is the interpreter of R&H of our time. Her singing is so full of longing and feeling. It's delicious. It's heavenly.
Could anyone be more worthy of the word lovely than Kelli O’Hara? Beautiful, flawless interpretation of this R & H classic. I’ll now drift off with sweet dreams.
There will never be another composer & lyricist team with the talents of R&H ever again. Through their words & music, they capture the heart & soul of human emotions. Their songs touch one's inner core, bringing one to tears, especially this song. Richard Rodgers once said that "Carousel" was his most favorite musical, out of all the musicals he and Oscar Hammerstein collaborated on. I love all R&H musicals, as I never tire of hearing the music, singing the songs, watching the movies and watching live theater productions. R&H are timeless! 💗🎵🎹🎻😊
devydu, I wholeheartedly agree with you and the other commentators here. Rodgers and Hammerstein's songs are eternal. The depth, breadth, and versatility of Rodgers music is pretty much unparalleled in popular music. Hammerstein's poetic lyrics are insightful and universal in their appeal. No, there will never be another songwriting team to equal the sustained brilliance of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
To see someone so gifted with the purest of voices is incredible to witness, Will be seeing O'Hara this Thursday and cannot wait! On a side-note, I feel the director of this video dropped the ball here. Way too many in-out-angle shots. With O'Hara, her voice, and the song's content, one camera, respectfully still was all that was needed.
I know Kelli is a big star but she really should be THE biggest female musical theatre star of recent times. She has an amazing voice and presence. Perhaps she just didn't want to commit to too many of the long runs that the big roles require? Maybe I am just P'd Off because I missed her in the King and I in London.
Usser Kelli is a light lyric soprano not a mezzo soprano like its Joyce Di Donato .Hear both singers in the vídeo I postei and you will see the diffence
Kelli O’Hara sings “If I Loved You” beautifully with clarity and emotion. The PBS musical accompaniment seemed lackluster, but the song was masterful. Sierra Boggess also sings Rodgers and Hammerstein beautifully as well, especially with the John Wilson BBC Proms 2010 production.
The music accompaniment was unfortunately dragging, which held her back 😢 you could sense her wanting to take control of the song and *go* (from the beginning) but the pianist was so slow!
Just watched & heard Kelli sing at the 911 Memorial Tribute in NYC today (Sept. 11, 2021). She sang "You'll Never Walk Alone". Beautifully done. Applause.
If I loved you, Time and again I would try to say All I'd want you to know. If I loved you, Words wouldn't come in an easy way Round in circles I'd go! Longin' to tell you, But afraid and shy, I'd let my golden chances pass me by! Soon you'd leave me, Off you would go in the mist of day, Never, never to know how I loved you If I loved you.
A beautiful voice singing a very emotional song, absolute clear diction, every word sung separately no dragging.loved it.👏👏👏.

There was a stage concert of her with it. It was quite good.
@@alexanderzamora5930 That's what they were referring to.
I couldn't agree more.
To die for!

Rodgers and Hammerstein were geniuses.
Without doubt some of the most beautiful music in all of history. Richard Rodgers compositions are simply incomparable.

Orchestral versions of Rodgers' music is now frequency played on Classical music stations. Pure genius indeed.
Oh my whole heart and soul! She’s beyond amazing 😭
the most beautiful voice!!

Precisely!!!!!!
Goosebumps
It’s so peaceful and calming it’s like a lullaby
This song simply defined the concert this year. I am so very, very grateful.
Simply divine!

It seems to me Kelli O'Hara is far better than Audra McDonald.
Absolutely beautiful! 👏 👏 👏
This is so beautiful...
Love this song. I haven't heard it a long while. Beautiful voice and lady.
Perfection!!
What a beautiful voice, like our soldiers would have listened to in the 40`s in the war
My grandpa would have loved your songs
I can't get enough of her Voice!!!!!
She sings so efferortlessly, it's beautiful!!
A classic performance! Gorgeous high notes. Thanks, Kelli, for keeping it real. So tasteful and beautiful!!
i literally don’t know how to comprehend this it’s so beautiful
Kelli lends her rich mezzo-soprano voice to a moving performance of a classic R&H ballad.

Another brilliant performance of this wonderful song is by Erin Alcorn.

"IF"?...It's Official....I Love you! 😍😍😍😍😍
STUNNING!

Incredible!!!!!
She played Julie in the marveleus concert with Nathan Gunn as Billy Jessie Muller as Carrie and Jason Danielly as Mr Snow.
Don't forget the great Stephanie Blythe too!
That was superb!!!!
DIVINE!
I've heard alot of solo female vocalist sing (if I loved you) but she sings this well and would do great in Broadway.
Absolutely! You’ll be pleased to know that she’s a great Broadway star and has won a Tony!
Straightforward rendition. She didn't overdo it or change things. Thanks, Kel.
Thank you, Kelli, for performing there!!!
Beautiful
I will never forget her amazing performance in the role of Nellie Forbush in the Lincoln Center revival of South Pacific.
*chef’s kisses*
I love this!!
In a world that is increasingly ugly and vulgar, it does my heart good to know that Kelli O'Hara exists.
Bravissima!
Perfect!
Absolute perfection 🎶
She's all red, chest and face and shoulders from conveying the message.
If I loved you,
Time and again I would try to say
All I'd want you to know.
If I loved you,
Words wouldn't come in an easy way
Round in circles I'd go!
Longin' to tell you,
But afraid and shy,
I'd let my golden chances pass me by!
Soon you'd leave me,
Off you would go in the mist of day,
Never, never to know how I loved you
If I loved you.
Now I’ve lost you
.
Off I must go in the mist of day
m
And you never will know
How I loved you
,
How I loved you
.
What gorgeous, nuanced lyrics. So simple and yet so timeless.
Perfection.
It doesn’t get much better than that!
I have not seen Carousel!! Others I have seen...
❤️❤️
What can you say............... I'll settle for........ exquisite.
This woman is just getting more beautiful with age
so yummy! Thank you for sharing.
What about Erin Alcorn, she is brilliant also singing this beautiful song.
Marin Mazzie, then Rebecca Luker... 😢 ...must protect Kelli O'Hara at all costs! 💜
Misses Luker and Mazzie were two Broadway greats who left us all too soon, so I know what you mean.
I come for The Gilded Age.
Why do not other singers have that diction ? Best since that English girl.
Beautiful song, beautiful Lady, but I prefer Barbra Streisand version of this hunting ballard.
