John Lennon was a light baritone (this type of baritone is known in opera as a Martin baritone) and as a student of singing and a teacher of rock and pop techniques based on several teachers focused on rock and my own vocal coach, the guy John Lennon's voice moves between heldentenor in the beginning and light baritone in his stage of maturity. I won't say it. Those of the rock and pop technique can tell by his tessitura passagio, they know his type of voice and clearly, even though it seems like a dramatic tenor The reality is that it was between baritone light and heldentenor

In more SIMPLE terms that apply more to "Pop/Rock" as opposed to "Opera", Paul would be a 1st Tenor & John a 2nd Tenor.
Lennon was NO Baritone. The TONE of his voice was High Pitched AND his tessitura was amazing. Listen to "Rock n Roll Music" where he RIDES a G4 with tremendous endurance. Even in the post Beatles years, he sang "Come Together" a FULL step Higher in NYC and hit a High "B" (B4) with no problem. He also did it on another song. I'm not surprised by the answer you give me, since at the end of the day that's what most people say, but those professionals like my teachers who are experts in rock and pop know that John Lennon was a light baritone just like Axel Rose and Chris Cornel. However, the light baritone has the ability to confuse many with tenor since when he trains his voice a lot with the so-called training and technique known as extreme vocal professional that was developed over time and science makes many singers including those I said can sustain and over time reach notes that are already outside the predetermined ones, in any case it is not necessary to debate something that rock professional and experienced vocal coaches have already verified, greetings

I've covered several of his songs: Working Class Hero, Revolution, Strawberry Fields Forever, and No Reply, and while I can usually sing where he does, he can go significantly higher and sustain the notes. I've heard the term baritenor, and that might describe John's voice more accurately.

John Lennon's timbre is too dark to be a tenor. But he's definitely a high baritone who isn't far short from being a tenor. If you're judging John's voice type based on the songs "Rain", "Tomorrow Never Knows", "I'm Only Sleeping", "She Said, She Said", "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", "I Am the Walrus", and "Across the Universe" his voice has been altered on all of those songs to appear higher. So they don't count.

Nah, John Lennon was definitely a baritone, albeit on the higher side. You're not alone. I thought he was a tenor for a long time. And for a long time I was convinced that George Harrison was a baritone.

@@ВасюкМаусин I used to think that George Harrison was a baritone because he did sound like a baritone when he spoke. And he did sing a lot of his earlier stuff with a baritone register or a register that was on the margin between tenor and baritone. I think his comfort range was A2 to A4 so he is a high baritone not a tenor or baritenor, high baritones dont sound higher like a lyric baritone , they have more power in their high notes and more capacity to reach the B4 and C5 (tenors high notes), a example of a high baritone is Matt Shadows from A7X, Dan reynolds from imagine dragons, Common baritones or spintos, they sing from G2 to G4, examples: Frank sinatra, John legend, Elvis presley, Ringo starr, lyric baritones, they sing G#2 to G#4, examples: Michael buble, David bowie and Freddy mercury, look freddy mercury had a amazing voice but profesionals says that he was a lyric baritone, the vocal range doesnt determinate your voice
