Great job Dennis! This was an interesting reel. One thing I will never do is try to operate a business fixing other people’s reels. I’ve done some of that but I only charged for any parts I had to get. I could not charge someone for doing something I enjoy so much! - Chris

You can do it! Just take your time and pictures to document the steps and you will be fine - Dennis - PS, I've got your back if you get an OOPS moment

His videos have helped me enormously with reels I never thought I'd service myself. Pictures and taking your time is the key! Along with Dennis's videos 😊. Dennis is absolutely right, you can do it!

Good evening Dennis, any idea if the spool "clicker" is actually a clicker on the Saltist verses a spool lock as on the Saltiga.
Also good to see that Daiwa didn't use Magseal on the Saltist.
The magseal bearings after being cleaned only require two drops of ferro-fluid oil per bearing. IMO, you need gloves on both hands not just your non-dominate hand thanks to the nano particles that are absorbable through the skin.
I got a video feed for your Sealine 600 C&L. Now it's time for the Sealine 900h or the 910 Rockcod reels. Stripers don't stand a chance at spooling you or getting away with the winch handle and maximum drag of the reel.

Thanks for the advice on the mag seal. I have a 900H. The thing will be fishing long after I am done. There is a click tongue and spring set up on this reel

Dennis, I'm talking about the button on what would be the left hand side plate, if it were removable.
On the Saltiga reels, the button on the left side locks the spool from playing out any line. Basically locks the drag so it won't allow any line to be payed out.
I fish with too many different reels to remember all of the features incorporated. I do know that the Saltiga 15h-SJ reel has more than 22 lbs of drag pressure. For a small reel, it's a mighty holder. Same goes for the Saltiga 35n-SJ, which has close to 40 lbs of drag.

Saltists is not mag sealed, the Saltiga is.

Doesn’t lock the drag, it locks the spool, it’s for breaking your line away from being stuck.

Love the videos! Quick question. I’m a big fan of the vintage Daiwa 7000 reels, I have all EXCEPT the 7250, 7300, and 7700. Do you have any recommendations on which is the best striped bass reel? I’d be using a 7’ medium/heavy - fast action rod. Thanks again!

The base rule on those is the bigger, the better as a stripper can run off a lot of line The 7000 or 7000C would be my choice. I also like the GS9

Thanks! Might use my 7600 or 7850 RL in the meantime. You’re right though, The silver series 7000c-9000c is what I have in my sights, gotta hit the eBay auctions! Happy hunting! 👍
