This was, as you may have realised, her 18th birthday concert (entitled "On My Own", as 18 is the age of majority in S.A.). The orchestra was a group conducted by Richard Cock, who had conducted all the "Starlight Classics" concerts, including the first public concert Amira sang in South Africa. She now has dual citizenship, in S.A. and The Netherlands, which makes it easier for her to flit between the two continents.

You are absolutely correct! The old hymns cannot be replaced for their beauty and for the sound biblical doctrine of their lyrics. They must be kept alive for this and future generations.

You’re quite correct that she doesn’t hit a bad note. You were looking for another word to describe her voice. You used pure; stella;, Heavenly; out of this world etc. Can I suggest another word being SUBLIME. I would also class her voice as CLEAN. She has no imperfections at the start; during, or after the note as her pitch is perfection , producing a magnificent bell type tone. Still waiting for “ Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church “ as previously explained, this is an entirely different song to previous versions you’ve reacted to. Cheers Graeme.
