Great reaction, Paul. Yes! Dimash has gotten better, if that was ever possible, but he did. This was in Singapore, back in October, when both Dimash and Hauser were there for an event associated with Virtuoso. Dimash had injured his right hand at home just a bit earlier in October, according to his Mom. I saw him in his Düsseldorf concert in November, and by that time, he was all better, and able to play the dombra on stage. This was a duet between 2 instruments. One is Dimash and the other is the cello. Hauser was amazing shredding the cello. Wonderful production of the MV. Always a pleasure to see your reaction. 😊

I am 93 and when I saw Emma doing Voila only because I am an Andre Rieu fan. I may have had some impact from the intro but in the last part I had a stronger reaction than I ever had before. Since then I repeat Voila at least once every day and usual more. I knew that she had done previous versions that were very good (she one a contest with a $25,000 prize she used to start her foundation with a good but not near as good at the part that affected me so much and I wondered what affect Andre Rieu had and this You Tube video answered my question. Here are my views on the song as a former German solidier: I don't like the song at all and I think it is highly arrogant. Claiming that serving in uniform means you're filled with hate is just digusting. I didn't serve out of hatred, I served because I wanted to help and protect people. The only people that had hate in them were the people in Germany that insulted me, called me a murderer and spit at me simply because I wore the uniform. THEY had hate in them, I didn't. Becaue I would have protected them without hesitation. My comrades who served in Afghanistan didn't go there out of hate, they wanted to help that country find a better future. They built schools, bridges, protected the Kabul airport. And what if a soldier from Ukraine heard this song now.. or the parent of a Ukrainian soldier that gave his life for the freedom of his country and the safety of his family. This song is an utter insult to them. What were they supposed to do? Sit back and watch Russia massacre their towns and ra*e their sister and steal their children? Maybe their parents were supposed to just sit at home and watch their sons get blow up in their apartment buildings instead? And this "I'd rather go to a far place".. yeah.. as if the entirety of a country could just run away, or anybody would even take them in. And what if the place they fled to was the next target? Flee again? Until no freedom is left? This song is the prime example of Germans learing the wrong lesson from history. Yes, starting wars of aggression is bad, but claiming no goal, no honor is worth fighting and dying for is a digusting message, the message of a coward. What about the Americans and Russians that liberated our concentration camps? Was what they were fighting for not worth it? I'd say those people they rescued from the death camps beg to differ. Where the Poles that kept fighting in exile to get their country back and liberate Poland from the slavery and brutality it suffered under German occupation not worth? What were those Poles supposed to do? Watch their country get destroyed? Where were they supposed to "flee"? They got attacked from both sides. And finally... how dare these people say that just because THEY believe in pacifism, their sons better feel the same way. What arrogance. Maybe, just maybe those sons feel there are things worth fighting and dying for, like the safety of their families, the freedom of their home countries, democracy, the safety of civilians, protecting children from being stolen, their wifes from being r*ped... I'd say every mother would willingly kill and die to protect the lives of her children. Personally, as a German, I'm ashamed of this song, deeply ashamed and I want nothing to do with this kind of German toxic pacifism. Be anti war all you want, but do NOT tell me there's nothing to fight and die for, because I know better, and every Allied soldier that fought in WW2 AGAINST Germany knows better.
