Hoping he can turn the business around. Just watched Mike’s video and his company is hardly profitable. From this video it seems that all is wel when in reality things are not. Great lesson for us all. Thanks for the video. Price changes everything.
I work for a local family owned landscape lighting company along with my landscaping company and they do Christmas lights and it’s insane. We're doing over 650 units this year residential and commercial, the amount of money they make doing Christmas lights is unbelievable. Payroll itself is 70k per week during the winter and they are still highly profitable. After seeing what is capable of being made this is certainly a service I’ll be adding to my company some day.
So if you have to prep either at the shop or on the site, why not choose on the site so the customer 1 can see the value they're getting and 2 it's more marketing as neighbors and people passing by have a larger chance to come see you?
When you asked “Where do you get all your Christmas lights” I heard his first place was S4 but what was his 2nd answer? I’m wanting to find a good supplier for Christmas lights.
How can we get in contact with him? I have some questions I'd like to ask him as I have been thinking about adding Christmas lights to my services but on the fence
Have you guys ventured into Christmas lights?! If not.. you may want to look again!
Think I'm gonna look into it now lol we always do quiet a bit at our house so why not make some money doing it
If these are possible numbers I’ll get into whatever! Hahaha

This is my first year doing lights. But it’s turned out really well
There’s a farmhouse right next to my house. Plainfield Illinois / they have so many nice lights, first thought was it’s was professionally done
What type of pole was he talking about instead of painters poles? Could barely hear it...
Waterfed Poles

Blows my mind people spend that much money to our lights up for 1-2 months max! Insane.
Super profitable! I still do some repeats but after I froze up on a 30 foot ladder I slowed it down lol
Lol nice!
Yes did a bunch of homes this year, and been doing it for 4 years. Christmas lights are off season to
That's crazy money to be made.
Where does he get the green lights again? Didn’t make out the name. Thanks

What is your logo made on of on your shirts
Love to know at what margin the business generates. 30 points????
I didn’t ask but my guess is that or more.

Ewing!
That’s what’s up….getting it
Its a good business but very very seasonal and you have to store all the lights
lot more into than it looks

Wow 500k per year , he said he charge 400 or 500 residential that includes lights, installation and uninstalled?
Usually, plus a storage too. we do them we charge for materials, set up, take down, and storage.
That was his "cheapest" ones. They are well north of that. Several thousand per house is normal.
Omg I’m in the wrong business then 😱
450k. How much of that is materials
My guess is less than 50%
I'd do Christmas lights but that means being on ladders/roofs full of snow in temps ranging from -5° to 25° on a good day. No thanks😂
Awesome job but I can’t believe people pay crazy money for that.
