Great video, thanks for sharing. Saved me a lot of knuckle skin trying to twist the side light holder out. I didn’t have the foresight to take the whole assembly unit out like you so I’ve done a lot of swearing. Very nice work sir.
Thanks Nick, glad to help! Yes, I’ve lost a lot of knuckle skin over the years!
Taking the whole thing out to show it better is a good idea! Good job
Thank you, glad to help!
Really good explanation, alot of videos assume you know where it is, but removing the assy makes a big difference. Well done 👍
I swapped all of my bulbs today, apart from my indicator bulbs and it went well, up until I tried changing my parking lights.
Those are an absolute nightmare to get out and reinstall. It didn't take me long to realise that it would be best to switch my side lights on so that I could be guided in better.
I dropped one of my W5W bulbs on the left and it got stuck under my air con compressor 🤦🏻♂️. I spent a good 10 minutes or so trying to get it out and thankfully it still works. It's brighter than what I had, but is still slightly orange/yellow.
Sounds like a typical day working on cars! Glad you got sorted in the end though and thanks for the comment.
The turn signal is the same for Volkswagen Tiguan
Thanks for the video
Great video and helpful
Mucho thanx from the niederlande ❤
Would be easier - if you’d shown how to remove the headlight. I’ve broken my fingers trying to get to passenger side DRL and I can’t see how to get either sidelight out…. Miss my Volvo (remove tent pegs, pull assembly out, easy as)
The 5w side light, just pulls out right? No turn
Yes, wedge bulbs just pull out.
Quick question mate, is the bumper removal necessary or could I remove the bolts from one side to loosen remove the light unit and work with that and then the other ?
Hi Ciaran, due to the shape of the light you can remove all 4 bolts for the light from the top but the bumper would be well in the way for removing the assembly. See: ua-cam.com/video/VrwgIbrPfrM/v-deo.html for the full job. All the best!
You can change all of the bulbs with the bumper and headlight in. Nothing needs removing 👍
@@Gmh6477 Yes as shown here: ua-cam.com/video/SQueEz3Owqc/v-deo.html
I think Ciaran wanted to remove the full assembly.
@@Gmh6477 I've a loose reflector for the full beam light so need to remove it to see if I can get it seated again
Ciaran Gallagher ah I’m with you now 👍, taking the bumper off is a 15 min job (don’t forget to check / take the number plate off) mine was screwed on and holding the bumper to the bar behind it 😂
Thank you for your reply.
And how do I know I get the right one? Just asking for a friend 😂
What good is this when the Headlight Unit is in the car You dont even show which way to twist bulbs or replace them whilst in situe. Total waste of time for any DIY!!
For the ones that twist it’s anti-clockwise whether the assembly is in the car or not? I’ve just watched the whole video and I clearly show how to remove every bulb. The point of showing the bulb removal off the car is you can actually see inside the fitting which is a major problem when trying to change bulbs in situ or in the dark...
You just have the IQ of a Canoli.
