- In this video, I look at the fantastic JAM Pedals EUREKA FUZZ.
I'm not normally a fuzz pedal fan as I always find that the tame picking dynamics but JAM Pedals have created the EUREKA FUZZ that not only sounds banging and retains all of your picking dynamics
Here's what JAM Pedals say about the EUREKA FUZZ.
Eureka!
Description
We set out to create a circuit that combined the singing, dynamic mid-range of germanium fuzz pedals with the gritty, full-bodied and well-rounded Muff-style fuzz distortion. Well...
Eureka!
Utilizing silicon transistors in a proprietary architecture to get the best of both worlds, the Eureka! is a phenomenal team player, flawlessly performing with all kinds of different effects, guitars and amps, all-the-while managing to maintain its distinct head-turning personality.
The onboard three-way toggle-switch incrementally introduces more low-end, a feature extremely useful for switching between single-coil and humbucker equipped guitars, as well as beefing things up for solos! When set to the setting, and sending a strong enough signal its way you can enjoy its gated-fuzz response!
ARTISTS USING THE EUREKA!:
Mike Miller, James Sedwards, David Torn, Sean Ono Lennon, Red Fang
ARTISTS QUOTES:
"The Eureka! is just incredible and I’ve been using it a lot on new recordings. A really versatile pedal that can easily dial in sounds I like. Even with all the fuzz I already have this has a really big niche already." Ruban Nielson
"The Eureka! is very touch sensitive, like some of my favourite Albert King tube amp distortion. With the toggle switch to the right, there’s a kind of compression there, where the attack is smeared out before the gigantic note arrives. And the power chord stuff is hilarious, huge snarly snaky stuff. Very adaptable for a variety of inputs, from high powered pickups to single coil. I’m a big fan of JΑΜ Pedals!" Mike Miller
"A wide variety of tones from nasally 60’s Fuzzrite to girthy 70’s Big Muff vibes and all points in between." Sean Ono Lennon
"The Eureka! has a unique voice all of its own and covers a lot of bases. With tones that can easily deliver super-heavy riffs, lead lines with searing mid-rich sizzle, flat out noise annihilation and the addition of enormous bass energy when required, this is a really versatile pedal!" James Sedwards
“Guitar, Eureka!, amp, done." David Torn
The Studio Rats are core band members Paul Drew on guitar/production/mixing, drummer James Ivey and Dan Hawkins on bass. They collaborate with singers and musicians to produce radio-ready songs.
Great demo! The duck in the back has sold me 😅🦆
That is an amazing sounding fuzz pedal!!!
WOw that pedal sounds cool,it is now on my shopping list
Paul can really shred some alternate picking licks! Damn! Pedal sounds really great as well.
Great Paul thanks for the video. I’m gonna order one
Nice review. It’s a great pedal - it stacks well with a light od after it. Also if you flip the switch to the right and go full gain it goes kind of gated and more spitty sounding. Good fun 😎
I like this one, sounds great ... and finally, some useful controls on a fuzz.
I think that’s the fuzz I’ve been look for.
Great video Paul. I have also had problems gelling with Fuzzes.... I do like the box candy with this, reminds me of my JHS pedals which also have some nice candy, sadly no rubber duck in the back.
Interesting. I like you, have never found a fuzz that I liked. There are so many out there. This could be the one.
Great tone from that strat, what year is it, is it original pickups?
Eurêka or Fuzz Si for all guitars ?
Pedals sound different regarding the amp and speaker. So always tell in the video description: Which Amp? Which Speaker? Which Microphone (s) ?
Monster sounds! How's the clean up?
This or the walrus audio eons fuzz?
Great demo Paul. I’m not a huge fuzz fan but this one sounds killer. I might have to pick it up at some point.
Just curious as I heard you mention it in another video, which Compressor do you use?
Thanks
Take care
Hi Brian
My fav compressors are the Keeley + and the Xotic
I had one and loved it as well! But I sold it, because I got an Analogman Sunface. I regret that. :)
Wouldn't it be funny if the rubber ducky was what tipped you into buying it. Yeah, I thought it sounded ordinary but that ducky!....it sounds great though
👍🏿🤘
Need to hear the guitar volume roll off.
Essential on a good fuzz.
No
@@MattD86 Jimi agrees with me.
That's Eureka with an e!
Sounds great. Now… when will someone come out with a momentary switch that you press and have the pedal go from nothing to full fuzz, and anything in between? Now that would be the cat’s meow.
Go and buy Hx Stomp ( or similar ), and a midi switch or an expression pedal.
Link the level of a fuzz to one of these....and there you have it!!!!
Zander pedals have that function.
Well done Paul, way to rip out those Johnson/Bonamassa riffs
Don’t the fancy packages and stickers and printed instructions drive up the price
It‘s not really a fuzz though. I mean you want that rounder thing respectively less articulation. Isn‘t it?
Sounds great but it sounds like a distortion pedal
Great Paul thanks for the video. I’m going to order one
You’ll love it Ernie.
Great demo Paul. I’m not a huge fuzz fan but this one sounds killer. I might have to pick it up at some point.
Just curious as I heard you mention it in another video, which Compressor do you use?
Thanks
Take care
Cheers Brian, I hope you got the other reply, but I use the Keeley + and the Xotic sp
@@TheStudioRats Thanks Paul. I had The Bends from Fender for a while and I liked it but I want something that can do both subtle and squishy. I’ll have to check out the 2 you mentioned.
Thanks
Take care
