JAM Pedals TPS Rattler & Factory Visit (Pedal Now SOLD OUT) - That Pedal Show

- Опубліковано 23 лип 2019
- This is a video about the That Pedal Show Limited Edition JAM Pedals Rattler… and a visit we made to JAM in Greece in July 2019.
Please note that the music in the video (not me and Dan playing guitar, the other stuff) is an improvised loop that Jannis made through his kerrayyyzeee pedalboard that you see in the video. You can find out more about Jannis here: jannisanastasakis.com
THE PEDALS ARE NOW SOLD OUT - THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL PATRONS & APOLOGIES IF YOU MISSED ONE!
You can buy a standard Rattler (same circuit) from JAM direct - www.jampedals.com/rattler/ or from your local JAM Pedals dealer. Such as Andertons: www.andertons.co.uk/jam-pedal...
The Background
Back in March 2019 we took an overview of some Rat-style distortion pedals on That Pedal Show. See the video here: • The ProCo RAT Distorti...
We were both bowled over by the JAM Pedals Rattler. Far from a straight clone, it delivers anything from dynamic, on-the-edge grit through to full on shred-tastic distortion!
Thus, a conversation with the great people at JAM Pedals ensued and we're very proud that Jannis and the team agreed to make us 100 Limited Edition Rattler pedals especially for viewers of That Pedal Show.
As you will see in the video we made while visiting JAM Pedals, every aspect of production is done at their Athens workshop. From drilling cases to the high quality through-hole circuit assembly, flow soldering, artwork and finishing, their work is truly art in pedal making.
The 100 Limited Edition Rattlers - NOW SOLD OUT, SORRY
The circuit itself is based around the much-loved LM308 opamp with hard clipping diodes, and we've chosen a one-off Limited Edition 'Candy Placid Orange' finish.
Each of the 100 pedals is numbered and signed by JAM Pedals founder, Jannis Anastasakis. (Signature can be found inside).
They were only available from That Pedal Show Store. Please be aware that the sound and functionality is the same as the standard issue one, so don't be too sad that they sold out - the standard one sounds the same!
For more info on JAM Pedals go to: www.jampedals.com/
WHY DO WE DO THESE LIMITED RUN PEDALS?
• First and foremost because we love the pedals themselves and have GREAT respect and admiration for the people who make them.
• Second, because it generates income for us to help fund and run the show - this goes for our T-shirts and everything else in the TPS store. Nobody has to buy anything, ever, so please don't be offended that we raise money in this way.
That's it, thanks for reading.

Thank you so much guys for this beautiful video! It was such a pleasure having you here in our workshop!
Likewise Jammers. You do wonderful things!
You're top people doing incredible stuff. 👌🏻
@@paultwiselton1996 thank you Paul! :)
Congratulations. Passion and love in your company. Refreshing to see this. 👍
Two of my fav pedals are the Delay Llama Supreme and the Fuzz Phrase: Thanks for being awesome, thank's for the music!!
These days of mass produced garbage, refreshing to see human passion and artistry still alive and prospering. 👍
True dat!
@Geoff Nightingale - Especially in Greece, with all of their issues.
@@ThatPedalShow do you prefer silicon or Germanium transistor in your treble boosters?(joe here hello!😂)
Jannis is a great guy and a great musician. Thanks for temporarily turning TPS into the pedal version of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown.
Hoping to do more of this Michael. Hope you’re well man!
@@ThatPedalShow Living the dream thanks - Next stop Latvia for Gamechanger audio ;-)
He looked like Keith Emerson (R.I.P.) or Rick Wakeman - when he said, "this is my pedalboard" - and he had it on a 2 Tier Keyboard Stand !!! - They really do make Top-notch stuff. Their Wah, Vibe, Chorus and Rattler - blow me away.
Don’t forget the Jam Fuzz Phrase with Hendrix on the front. Amazing fuzz pedal. One of the best on the market
Very special pedal from a very special pedal manufacturer for a very special UA-cam channel.
I’m happy that the patrons got first crack at purchasing. They deserve it!
It's absolutely incredible to see a company doing things this way! This makes me want to buy their products! Attention to detail in every way! Thanks gents for the eye opener!
We are truly living in the Golden Age of pedals. JAM is a great example. I think it's interesting that more designers look at/view their pedals as instruments.
@2:50 is the greatest moment in TPS history
Hahahaha
What a treat! The factory tour just kept getting more amazing as it went along, and that limited run pedal looks and sounds gorgeous. Well done on the content lately, well done.
Thank you! It was truly an inspiring experience going to see those lovely people!
Brilliant episode. Great to see behind the scenes at Jam; they're artists by any reasonable definition.
That was great, so many people with so many different skills... What an inspiring film. Thank you.
What an awesome, inspiring place with such cool people working together to create something totally unique! Guys you just keep outdoing yourselves. The production quality of these videos is just top notch! It’s so nice to be able to watch an episode of That Pedal Show and just forget about every day worries and troubles just for half an hour. You guys rock, thanks so much!!
Very nice tour and I loved the pedal artwork. Thanks, Gentlemen!
Wow - great tour! And congrats on your own Rattlers. The attention to detail, hand craftsmanship, and care they have creating these pedals was awe inspiring. Thanks guys!
I’ve got a rattler plus and the amount of compliments I get on it is astounding. Definitely one of the best distortion pedals out there, and made by such wonderful people! Thanks for everything Jannis and the team 🤘🏼
Thank you for bringing the TPS Rattler pedal and this amazing look into creativity to us. Cheers from Montana!
What an amazing experience that must have been to see JAM headquarters. I have a few of their pedals, and they are nothing less than completely awesome in every way.
As a Gong fan I like the flying teapot on the wall.
Wow there are still people who know GONG! Beautiful!
Great to see the VCS3 making an appearance. My dad owned EMS in the 90s before passing it on to the current owner. Great show as always. 🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻🎸👍🤘🏻👍👍
As a fledgling pedal business it was inspiring to see the human touch at work. Now a huge fan of JAM. Thanks TPS!!
Wow! What a video; what an experience! All that loving attention to detail and it turns into a great sounding, great looking pedal. I look forward to you reviewing more of their pedals and wish JAM great sucess.
I'm sat over a fire pit on the last night of a family holiday in the middle of a feild in yorkshire. I bought one of these after watching your last video on them. As a long time blur fan and after searching for a solid stand alone lead pedal for a while the rattler has been a revelation all thanks to you.
So great seeing a pedal made from scratch by people who love the art and knowing it's on my board. Cheers TPS and Jam
👌🏼what a wonderful world !...... some fantastic gear and great people ... Jam !
That pedal sounds so big man!!! Thank you Jam thank you TPS!
Congrats guys! And congrats to the 100 owners! Jam pedals are amazing. 🤘👏👏👏
At multiple parts of this episode, I found myself clapping in delight. When Jannis melted my mind at the halfway mark, I was on my feet too.
Wonderful vid.
Unfortunately I have just gotten paid.
There goes the marriage.
🤷🏼♂️
Wonderful company! Amazing to see how much work they put in to producing a great pedal.
Great interview, great guy from JAM, he really embodies the company, and great pedal! Thanks!
Far out. My mind was blown on more than one occasion in that video! Mick & Dan, I think you might just have the best job in the world
Guys that was awesome! Love what you do never stop!
Can't wait to get mine! So excited. Great little company. Great show
Had a bit of a Dan moment at the end of the tour segment, very touching video and great story all round. The music Jannis was creating is right up my ally and definitely established more of a connection to his pedals for me. Love this episode and the vintage guitar episode - knocking it out of the park guys, really. Also, Jannis is like the Greek Beardyman of Guitar, amazing!
Great episode and good luck with the joint venture!! Wow, what an artist!! Finally, another person who sees the world like me in terms of a size of a pedal board. There is never too small!!!!!
That's so cool guys!!
Jam pedals make such amazing pedals and are such lovely people as well!!
I love episodes like this, Thanks guys !
Fantastic show guys!!
So much content 😍😍, thank you guys!
Without a doubt TPS is the best guitar gear channel on youtube.Great vid guys.
9'36 - What a work of art!
Love it already for the look!
Just stunning pedalboard !!!!!
WOULD LOVE IT ONE DAY♥️🎸👍
Thank you guys for you mutual passion!!!
Great episode and a brilliant project. I loved how you kept it real by walking around the workshop with your iced coffees.
Absolutely amazing, guys!
Cheers!
I just made an order for the Jam Pedals Waterfall so I had to rewatch this episode. What an amazing company and production those guys have. Great episode, guys. Cheers
I've been using JAM pedals for years. Started with the RetroVibe, then Fuzz Phrase , Wahcko + and Mini Boomster (custom shop). Insanely good pedals and their customer service is great. They are real artists and put their passion into it. Great video, thank you TPS!
those people are fabulous, working stylish, together, making perfomance art.
Was tickled to see the pink paisley Tele in the background when you guys walked into the JAM showroom, but got a bigger kick when Dan took it in hand. After several decades as an acoustic player, my first electric was a CIJ pink paisly Tele reissue back about 2000. A real dazzler. And thanks for the tour of the JAM operation. Too cool.
What a cool shop! Pedal sounds great and looks even better!!! That color must be something in person
Terrific! Love his synth gear, especially.
Now that is a company id like to support for sure! Their designs look like theyd make you feel a certain mood
Good lord! that blue custom pedal board, I mean....good lord! Kidney now for sale....... amazed and happy this stuff gets made, rattler awesome too, and on all strat positions which is never a given. Big smiley.....cheers all. :)
Love the Rattler. Ordered it after watching TPS. Tried it, loved it and gave it to a friend round the corner from me to try. He ordered one straight away. Great products, and the t-shirts are great aswell!!!!!!
I don't have any jam pedals but will definitely check them out if I'm in the market for another. They seem like such an awesome little company. Great to support companies like this!
Those custom shop multi effects pedals are the coolest thing I have ever seen.
Ok I have to get one of these.. as always .. great show guys
This is so cool and I am so sad that I didn't get in on a TPS Jam pedal, but you guys are too cool... My favorite part was watching her hand paint pedals, such an awesome gift she has (but then again they all seemed rather talented)! Thanks for another great video!
Had to add an update. I just bought a Rattler. AWESOME PEDAL!
just WOW!! Jam pedals !! you guys are doin it right !!
I love videos like this, thanks guys!
Wonderful from start to finish.
Really enjoying these 'non-TPS format' videos. Absolutely beautifully shot and edited, and really exciting and inspiring to see! Congrats on 201k!
Great episode Chaps! So cool to see a small shop that does such amazing, detailed work.
I was in Greece in 1985 and arrived just as TWA Flight 847 was hijacked. It was a tense time to be from the U.S. in Greece and when my friends and I found out what had happened, we called our embassy and were advised to hide any visible evidence that we were American, and to buy Canadian flags to put on our backpacks. Once we acclimated we really had a wonderful trip and had a great guide that took us to all NON-tourist places to eat so the food was outstanding. I only wish there was a JAM pedals to visit then!
Congrats on the TPS editions!
Got mine yesterday (#34). It sounds absolutely fantastic and looks gorgeous. Thanks TPS and JAM for making this happen. I see a few more JAM pedals in my future!
Nice one Davey, hope it brings you many hours of fun and inspiration!
@@ThatPedalShow It absolutely will! Embarresed to say it's the 11th new pedal I've bought in the last few months thanks to you guys! ;)
Wow these pedals look absolutely amazing! the unboxing of one of these alone would be an experience.
You only asked for 100? How will poor little guys from Indiana ever get one? I think with the great work TPS has done, that you deserve this moment. Kudos!
JAM, and others like them, such as Analogman and JHS, really show what’s magic about pedals. It’s the knowledge, the appreciation of the history, the excitement about experimentation, the attention to detail, and the creativity, all packed into a small box of joy. Pedals really are sweeties for guitar players. And yes, I’ve ordered one!
Thank you! We have so much respect for these guys, where it’s about more than just selling the biggest number of pedals for the lowest possible price. :0)
you fellas have been putting out a great diverse range of content of late it's all hitting the spot for me and best of all it hasn't lost that authenticity i love watching you guys for. P.S some tasty playing all around in this episode, loved jannis studio setup!
So gutted to have missed out on buying a pedal. I guess I need to stop saving the videos until Friday evening's relaxing time. Such a great setup the Jam guys have got, and I'll be looking into them more. Great show as always guys!
Gotta love it.
Organic artisan pedal production.
More power to them ...
Looks and Sounds awesome Mates!!! Totally getting one!!
This makes me appreciate the jam pedals I have so much more now after seeing that ! I am glad you featured your awesome song "Blistered" in this video! Jam actually made me a custom Wahcko plus that is hand painted and it is BEAUTIFUL! Sounds amazing to boot
one of my favorite pedal acquisitions was a Red Muck Fuzz. I got it back in 2012, and it came in a simple brown box with the Jam logo on it ...I'm so happy for the company, it looks like they are doing really well.
So nice to watch artists at work.
These Rattlers just sound the business,WANT! Awesome episode!
TPS gets into David Lynch territory at 2:18. On the Lost Highway, waking to a pedal in his sock, Special Agent Dan Steinhardt was a thinking man in trouble...
Love my Tube Dreamer+ thanks Jam!
Great to see Art and Engineering make complementary bedfellows - and in a perfect setting. Wish them every success :-)
Love this. Huge tones on all setups but I really enjoy how it sounds with the strat.
great timing, enjoying this in stunning heat over here in Germany
That was an eye candy experience for an ear candy investigation! Such beautiful artistry!
Just ordered mine! :) Your video is very inspiring, and it's great to see how creative this gang is. Their shop seems to be a great place to work in too.
This was the first pedal company that I fell in love with...🥰(the second was analogman). Glad to see these guys getting their due.
Amazing company and the TPS Rattler sounds incredible too!
as a famed art director mentor of mine once said, "f*cking lovely". thank you jam, dan, and man named mick.
Great episode
Best showing yet with the 335, Mick! Ace!
Welcome to Greece guys
the 'on the run' part blew my mind!
I'm so excited to get one! thanks gents!
Oh my word, just amazing. If I didn’t already have one of the ten limited edition “Vermin” pedals that Lawrence Petross is releasing on its way (also RAT based), I’d be grabbing one of these. They sound & look amazing; congrats guys, love it!!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😎🇬🇷🎸🎼👍👌✌ Thanks.. TPS.Yanis IS A GREAT GREAT MAN AND ALL THE STAFF THERE THE JAM PEDALS are FANTASTIQUE
I hope you can do more collabs like this, its a good thing.
Great video guys.
Awesome episode (all episodes are awesome, but some are more awesome, like this one)
It's the small businesses that really deliver something that goes beyond the simple usability a product brings with it.
Happy you guys made it to Jam Pedals. I've got their Ripply Fall - it's an extraordinary pedal - and I can't say enough about their customer service either. Theirs is truly a first class operation! You should also mention that even though their pedals are a bit on the pricey side (but worth every penny in my opinion), they ship for free!!! All the way to the USA!!! Who does that?! Only Jam as far as I know.
I bought a rattler from the pedal store after seeing your review!! And would’ve totally bought the orange pedal show series if I would’ve known available!!!
Will be ordering a TPS Rattler ASAP!!!
Like the new backdrop. Makes the room look warmer.
Amazing - there’s often so much cynicism with “boutique” companies, be it pedals, amps or guitars, some maybe founded, but this proves that some do it right, and you are paying for passionate people to do it right. If I had a pedal company I’d want it to look like this.
Mick. You need one on YOUR board.... hell, who am I kidding I need one one mine. I was thinking about sending my Rat to JHS but ever since you shout-out I’ve kinda changed my mind. And a TPS one would be amazing, keep up the great work you all do, and keep up the relationships you guys have because this is awesome.
What a cool group of people!!
This video was great. You guys convinced me to buy one! 😊
