I wouldn't blame guy from store too much, it's not like they don't want to sell better more expensive cards. But if customer don't know anything about PC's they will always try to get cheapest thing comparing stuff like GPUs with something they understand, like cars. Every car can drive you around a town so probably every card can run games and cheap one just doesn't have champaign cooler under backseat logic.
Back in 2010 when I wanted a gaming PC , gt210 DDR2 1gb was the first gpu i got, paired with core 2 duo e7500 and 1gb ram, it's not because my dad and i want it but because we don't know what gaming PC specs should be, and i learn that just because it has 1gb vram doesn't mean it's a GPU for gaming, 1gb vram on that thing is totally useless most of the time only around 200mb vram is used

How high did you got it? I saw some impressive oc on some low end cards, they are so cut down, there is sometimes surprisingly big overhead. Could get around 50% on my age old 7300 GT back in the day.
I remember getting a GT 610 for my birthday after struggling to run minecraft on my mom's old compaq computer that had an Athlon X2 with nvidia geforce integrated graphics. Seeing my passmark score go from like 24 to 300ish was magical.
You had an AMD processor with nvidia integrated graphics? I don't know for sure that that's not a thing. But I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not a thing. Especially since the Athlon X2 came out after AMD acquired ATI. I won't be mad if proven wrong though.

Man, I remember my father having a 510 in his PC, and he used it for his recording studio including a core 2 duo and 4gbs of ddr2 I believe. Luckily built him a new PC for all more than his needs with a 660 and an i5 with 16gbs of ddr3 RAM a couple years back and it's quite a different beast in comparison.
I bought one in 2014 for $20 (USD) just so I could play war thunder on the old office pc i bought for $50, until i could save up enough money to build me a nice computer. I upgraded to the gtx 1050ti when it was released, and now my gt 610 sits in its box on a shelf because i love the Geforce design on it.
This was the GPU in my first PC, I still have it just lying around. I will never forget the day I upgraded from it to an R9 270X. It was life-changing!

HNY dude! Crazily enough I sold 2 of these (Zotac versions, I believe) for $25 ea. on eBay a couple months ago. No complaints from the purchasers, I can only assume they were building HTPC or other low-end type systems with them, although my kids did use them as gaming cards for a few years before I got them the GDDR3 1030's.

GT 610 was my first ever graphics card my mom bought for me on a whim. We were out for doing some xerox and ended up going to a local electronics shop I don’t remember why. I noticed the MSI branding with GT 610 written on a box for showcasing. Asked mom for it with very little knowledge about graphics cards. It was like 55$ so she surprisingly got it for me. Such nostalgia. Mine came with a fan tho. I still have it and it’s original box. Can’t get rid of it.
I love this channel because it always puts me in the mode of "you're at your parents' house for a weekend or over the Christmas holiday and forgot to bring your PC so you have to make do"
This thing is basically a GT440 (a.k.a GT730 DDR3) chopped in half with half the cores (48 vs. 96), texture units (8 vs 16) and memory bandwidth (64 vs 128-bit). Fascinating!

I have a pal who bought one of these near release to pair with an FX 8350 for programming tasks. He used it up until a couple years ago when he upgraded to an RX 550. He even calls that overkill for his uses, especially as the most demanding game he ever plays is Torchlight 2.

This was my first graphics card I ever bought! Got a pc for free and headed down to best buy to pick up the cheapest gpu they had. It was awful in retrospect but I had a lot of fun playing minecraft, Garry's mod, lfd2, and red orchestra 2 with friends on this beast. I was honestly surprised when I built a rig to replace it and the integrated graphics of the 4770k were faster than this card.

Oh dear, I remember this graphics card whenever me and my friend use their PC, and it wasn't pleasant. We were playing Black Ops 2 with that thing, and we overclocked this graphics card to 950 MHz, and we still have to lower the graphics to low setting.
Well, I have got a Radeon 5450 just for my second monitor. The RTX 2070 Super for the main one/for my games. I had little stutters/less fps when for example having a video/stream open on the second monitor and since i got the second gpu for it, it works perfectly fine (Now I have the Ryzen 9 3900x and if your gpu/cpu are perfectly balanced it might behave differently, although such a low end gpu shouldnt affect your cpu much). I definitly have found a use for a low end gpu in my gaming pc. Happy New Year everyone!
Ah Crysis. I remember a 720p low-medium experience with Pentium E5200, 2GB DDR2, Sapphire Vapor-X HD 5770 1GB GDDR5. The FPS dips while running really did simulate slow motion. And with Vista Ultimate (which I "bought").
Dare I say back in my days of a tight budget I had the horrible trio consisting of a GT210, GT610 and even a GT710 but even then I was easily satisfied
I was stupid and bought one of these back in the day. It was $70 at Best Buy, though it was a 1GB model with active cooling. It was used for over 3 years until I finally realized it was absolute shit. Playing games below 20FPS. I used it to diagnose PCs without iGPUs for a while, it even worked after I dropped it getting in my car. Eventually put it in a PC I fixed that had the Mobo HDMI port fail, it was free. I would never charge someone for that POS.
Back in 2012 we had an old Dell Optiplex in our living room with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and you couldn't even play Minecraft on it so my father bought this GPU for it. I didn't have a PC or laptop of my own then so I had to use this "gaming beast" for about three years. Surprisingly there were a lot of games you could actually get to run after changing stuff in config files and so on. I played a lot of Payday 2 on it... in 800x600 and it looked like a PS2 game but it was playable. Apart from that I played Oblivion, Skyrim, , Age of Empires, Starbound, Terraria, CSGO, ... on it.
I had the 1GB version of this card as my first ever graphics card, and it honestly wasn't complete garbage for the time. I could run Modern Warfare, Sims 3 and Minecraft and that's all my 13 year old self needed.

Nah, the "Pro 560X" should only be a bit slower than Desktop RX 560s... tough, being a iMac it might thermal throttle.

Oh dear, I remember this graphics card whenever me and my friend use their PC, and it wasn't pleasant.
We were playing Black Ops 2 with that thing, and we overclocked this graphics card to 950 MHz, and we still have to lower the graphics to low setting.
Well, I have got a Radeon 5450 just for my second monitor. The RTX 2070 Super for the main one/for my games. I had little stutters/less fps when for example having a video/stream open on the second monitor and since i got the second gpu for it, it works perfectly fine (Now I have the Ryzen 9 3900x and if your gpu/cpu are perfectly balanced it might behave differently, although such a low end gpu shouldnt affect your cpu much). I definitly have found a use for a low end gpu in my gaming pc. Happy New Year everyone!
Funny enough i've actually got a Asus GT 610 graphic card in my old computer. It works fine when it comes to playing older games in the pre-2000's
U made me nostalgic. It was in my first Ever PC back in 2014 , with an i3-4150 on an H81m-S board 🥺
Ah Crysis. I remember a 720p low-medium experience with Pentium E5200, 2GB DDR2, Sapphire Vapor-X HD 5770 1GB GDDR5. The FPS dips while running really did simulate slow motion. And with Vista Ultimate (which I "bought").

Dare I say back in my days of a tight budget I had the horrible trio consisting of a GT210, GT610 and even a GT710 but even then I was easily satisfied
If only we were able to SLI all of them.

I was stupid and bought one of these back in the day. It was $70 at Best Buy, though it was a 1GB model with active cooling.
It was used for over 3 years until I finally realized it was absolute shit. Playing games below 20FPS.
I used it to diagnose PCs without iGPUs for a while, it even worked after I dropped it getting in my car. Eventually put it in a PC I fixed that had the Mobo HDMI port fail, it was free. I would never charge someone for that POS.
Back in 2012 we had an old Dell Optiplex in our living room with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and you couldn't even play Minecraft on it so my father bought this GPU for it. I didn't have a PC or laptop of my own then so I had to use this "gaming beast" for about three years. Surprisingly there were a lot of games you could actually get to run after changing stuff in config files and so on. I played a lot of Payday 2 on it... in 800x600 and it looked like a PS2 game but it was playable. Apart from that I played Oblivion, Skyrim, , Age of Empires, Starbound, Terraria, CSGO, ... on it.
I had the 1GB version of this card as my first ever graphics card, and it honestly wasn't complete garbage for the time. I could run Modern Warfare, Sims 3 and Minecraft and that's all my 13 year old self needed.
