- [EN] Damascus Steel from Nails / I forge a beautiful Bowie
In this video I show you how I make a Capsule Damascus Bowie knife with 1095 powder, nails and high carbon steel. I'm starting to master the capsule damask technique and I find it really nice because it offers thousands of possibilities for damask patterns. I love this Bowie knife, it’s really beautiful, the hilt is magnificent and the olive wood really highlights it. This Damascus steel nail has a great look. Forging this bowie was not easy and the fact that the tang goes through the entire handle to be bolted at the end requires a lot of concentration. Follow me through this complete process where I show you step by step how to make this knife. I really enjoyed making this knife and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do when you watch the video! I still have lots of ideas for damascus steel so so that I can continue to make beautiful videos, don't forget to support me by sharing and liking.
Do not hesitate to leave me comments. See you soon for a new knife project!

I have never worked olive wood. I'll have to look for it.
it was an old stump that a friend brought me from Corsica, it's very pleasant to work with, it has a very particular smell and the veining is magnificent 😉

Make it bit bigger
Ok 👍
No clip point. 👎Not a Bowie Knife. Just a camp knife.
the Bowie knife had a blade of at least 8 inches (20 cm) in length, some reaching 12 inches (30 cm) or more, with a relatively broad blade that was one and a half to two inches (3.8 to 5.1 cm) wide and made of steel usually between 3⁄16 to 1⁄4 in (4.8 to 6.4 mm) thick.
The clip point is 3.5". Straight or S Guard, straight handle 5.5" to 6".
ok very interesting, you will show me what yours are like if you can send me photos or if you made a video send me the link please thank you
