So many fishing channels have just turned into pimping their sponsors products and very little sharing of knowledge. So refreshing to see a guy sharing some knowledge and putting out truly useful videos. Keep up the great work. It's most appreciated!
Useful videos, but He still pushes sponsor products I realized this after blowing many $$$ on 3 elliot rods and hundreds in acme lures. I appreciate the knowledge, but i better catch some fish this winter.
Hard to find great info like this we appreciate it! I love seeing people catch fish and show the tackle they use but if I could sit down with a guide or pro I'd ask all about how to target and locations etc. Awesome stuff. Cheers
Thank you for your deep explanation of where to find fish through the ice. I have struggled walleye fishing but this will help me a ton to search for them .
Great videos bud. I'm addicted to watching them. In a past video you mentioned fishing Red Cedar Lake, but I can't find which video it is... I would like to watch it, since it's the lake I fish every weekend.
Absolutely blowing my mind with the way you isolate structure on the map. So simple, and so smart. Now if I'm fishing a deep clear lake that's got basin depths of 80 to 130 feet, where people are catching walleye 70 feet down during the day...is it fair to take the rule of 20-30 feet, and dial that down to 40-50 feet for this time of year?
Tom, it appears to me that depth highlighting is not possible on a Helix with a Navionics card. Does that sound right? Do I have to purchase the Lakemaster card to use this function? Thanks
What’s your thoughts on a lake that has very little structure. Deepest point it 28 feet of a point. The rest of the lake is around the 14-20 foot mark. I’ve tried the deep point. Caught a ton of perch but no walleye
Do you need the Lake Master card for this feature or will it work with the Navionics card, the body of water I fish is the Allegheny Resavoir and it is not on Lakemaster. Thanks
I own the same gas can. It is basically a safety cap (like a pill bottle). You have to turn the cap and line up the arrows to pull it off and pour your gas.
Most informative videos out definately thorough. Thanks Tom. You make things so clear and helpful. I Need to pick out a good unit for side imaging for new boat this spring. Leaning toward helix 9 or 10. What do you think is best most user friendly unit. Willing to spend the money if its really worth it. Thanks for the Sunday morning entertainment 😉
This doesnt appear to work with Navionics card on the humminbird units. I have those setting options but they dont do anything to my map. Probably need the lakemaster card.
Thank you for putting out such great information! I love how all your videos offer tips and tricks as well as entertainment. Keep up the great work we appreciate it. Quick question about the helix for ice fishing(I’d love others input who use it for ice too), I have a helix 5 on my boat and am considering getting the ice kit for it for next year. If you use the flasher setting split screen with the standard graph how close to real time is the images? Is it a second or less? I’d really love to have my gps, maps and waypoints out on the ice and the graph would be a nice addition too but my only hesitation comes from the “lag”. Maybe it’s negligible, what’s been your experience?
Luke Mueller I have a Humminbird 797 I converted to ice fishing. There is no lag with it. Having my gps is awesome for ice fishing. I never use the flasher style graph. I think the standard graph is way better. You have the history which makes it easier to tell how the fish are reacting. I’m sure the helix is even better than what I have, it’s 8-10 yrs old.
Great tips 100%. But 3/4 of the people do not have contours or have the opportunity to fish that way. Alot of times the contours are not available. Taking out the electronics you still put out alot of useful information. Not trying to put your vid down or anything. Just my area if you dont make your own contours your not getting them. So its difficult to map out every lake in summer for sure if your not a guide.

Well said and I agree completely.
why I dont watch the googans anymore.
Useful videos, but He still pushes sponsor products
I realized this after blowing many $$$ on 3 elliot rods and hundreds in acme lures.
I appreciate the knowledge, but i better catch some fish this winter.
As a terrible walleye fisherman your videos are a godsend. Thank you, cheers from Barron county.
Quickly becoming my favorite YT channel. Great vid Tom!
Hard to find great info like this we appreciate it! I love seeing people catch fish and show the tackle they use but if I could sit down with a guide or pro I'd ask all about how to target and locations etc. Awesome stuff. Cheers
Wow! These are the kinds of videos that I’ll watch over and over! This is the type of content that I love! Excellent job explaining things.
BEST VID ON THE NET!!!!!!!!!!
Love just how much I can learn from your videos, you seriously understand walleye behavior and explain it in a way anyone can understand.
Thank you for your deep explanation of where to find fish through the ice. I have struggled walleye fishing but this will help me a ton to search for them .
Love it. These are my favorite type of videos from you.
Thanks, Tom. I will keep coming back to this video and more like it over and over again. Love your style.
This was great. Love the thought put into this. In fishing it’s easy to catch fish once you find fish. That’s the hard part.
Thanks Tom, the structure info you relay is outstanding.
Doesn’t get much better than this. Thank you for all the info
Great Video man. Awesome job explaining what to look for. Thank you so much for making this video for us to see
Thanks for some awesome info making for a better understanding of structure
Great videos bud. I'm addicted to watching them. In a past video you mentioned fishing Red Cedar Lake, but I can't find which video it is... I would like to watch it, since it's the lake I fish every weekend.
I'm really liking your videos man, Alot of great tips!
This video alone is worth the sub
Well explained, learned a lot about my older Hummingbird even from watching your set contours. Subscribed! :)
great video for fish location and how to use the humminbird .I will try that ..Thanks
Going ice fishing tomorrow! So excited!!
Awesome Info! I do the same thing on my Navionics app. Your videos are always packed with good info!
Thanks for watching

Thanks Tom! I always look forward to your videos
Always great info
Had no idea my helix could do that. Thanks for the tips!
Awesome video man. Got my sub!
Great video man
nice video! very good tips, thanks Tom!
Love the videos Tom. What exactly is your definition of "basin"?
Awesome presentation..thank you....!
Great content Tom!
Can you look more into the one lake you zoomed in on so you can show what to look for in lakes that have less cover
I've been searching for videos like this. Thanks!!
Excellent video.
I have a garmin striker 4. Any advise for someone with lower end electronics
Great video/information.
Are those basemaps or lakemaster?
So helpful. Thank you.
Do you have to have the lake master card to depth highlight mine will not do depth highlight?
Great info as always!
Tom, it appears to me that depth highlighting is not possible on a Helix with a Navionics card. Does that sound right? Do I have to purchase the Lakemaster card to use this function? Thanks
So do you have a navionics card for your humminbird?

Hey Tom. On my Helix 7 there’s no option for depth highlight. Do you know what I can do to fix that?
Great video!
Excellent Tom, thank you!
What card are you using? Mine didn’t come preset with any maps. I got to go out and manually chart my lakes. Like wowowowowow.
Good stuff
I just got a helix for ice fishing but yet to install the detailed maps 😬
Am I missing a setting on my helix 5? I can’t get the red & greens ... I’m just seeing it all in blue
Do you need the Lake Master card for this feature or will it work with the Navionics card, the body of water I fish is the Allegheny Resavoir and it is not on Lakemaster. Thanks
Navionics card should work. You can use navionics online and set your depth colors the same way.
@@jeremyperkins7559 I can't figure it out, all I have on my screen is blue and white, thanks
Great videos! What was the first lake? Or What state Are you in?
Unrelated question. What is that big yellow cap on your gas can? Did you modify one of those frustrating safety nozzles?
I own the same gas can. It is basically a safety cap (like a pill bottle). You have to turn the cap and line up the arrows to pull it off and pour your gas.

I hear the word “basin” thrown around all the time. Even this video. Define:Basin
This doesnt appear to work with Navionics card on the humminbird units. I have those setting options but they dont do anything to my map. Probably need the lakemaster card.
And that's how they get you
@@TomBoley Ya, frustrating, it would be nice to highlight the depths, dont know why it doesnt work with the navionics card.
Good video
🥳 is with me
Tom I've seen on videos you said subscribers ask you to pick spots on a certain lake why don't you set up a venmo account and charge for it.
Dear lord brother. Please do this for Burt Lake in Michigan......lol
Too bad you didnt have a weekend morning show on tv with a few good sponsors.
Come up to farm island lake and fish walleyes with me
Thank you for putting out such great information! I love how all your videos offer tips and tricks as well as entertainment. Keep up the great work we appreciate it.

Set the chart speed to mega. There will be zero lag. Good luck
No homo but I like this guys voice
This guy has to be from Wisconsin. He said the word flowage.

I wish my mommy and daddy gave me a bunch of money!
ummm how about fishing without robots? junk
Great video!
