My personal choice is Bravia 3 because of the use of IPS panels, Flicker-Free with IPS panel for less eye fatigue and better Google OS 43", 55", 75" - IPS panels 50", 65", 85" - VA panels I don't do any games, just movies and sports. Thanks Steve, and God bless you!
My B3 is Awesome for any content the color accuracy and upscaling is Brilliant for a Cheap TV 📺 I tested all the low end Brands a lot in Depth and Sony just looks Smoother
You can also tweak the settings to your liking weather you like it the way its on the Sony or the Samsung if you take the time to play with the settings it will be a bit of a headache but the choice is always yours unlike the dark ages of CRT 32 inch 300lbs TVs
Thanks Steve,,, This video is Perfect , it's about time someone did it this way,, 👏 with low end Model's,, B7 v B9 to see if there is any real big difference with what you just did
It is interesting how no one out there talks about how Local Dimming in regards to how it improves Motion 15% on the B7 and B9 and picture Contrast all at the same time obviously
@bungalowtomcat1 i’m trying to scale back on that stuff, the majority of people who watches my videos just want basic understanding in what to expect if they spend their money. Only a few tech guys like you would even comprehend what you’re talking about. Lol… personally i love the info..
@@TechSteve mhhh totally get all that , yeh it's hard to fit everything in and have time ⏲ there's a lot of people that ask so many questions I've seen and very really get the hard questions they are asking answed , I do try and provide if for those I'm sure it helps 👍
Pretty spot on. It's hard to go against Sony when it comes to TVs. I'm probably a bit biased because I've had bad luck with Samsung TVs and generally feel the quality is lacking for the price. In this "TV battle" I definitely felt Sony definitely had a better overall look when it came to movies and Samsung was better for gaming. You came to the same conclusion as well. Until they prove otherwise I just can't bet against a Sony TV.
I went with the Sony bc the 75" used IPS, whereas Samsung used VA, and i need a wide viewing angle for the room. And also the Sony was cheaper than Samsung.
Hey Steve, did I hear you correctly that you used Cinema and Movie Mode for the Sony and Samsung respectively for the comparison? I think you should have used Custom/Professional and Filmmaker Mode, since they would both be trying to achieve the same thing for brightness (APL) and Colour. The Samsung seemed alot brighter probably because Movie Mode now normally uses Active Tone Mapping which would make everything much brighter than the Sony in Cinema Mode (making it look worse on camera than real life by alot), Cinema Mode only seems to brighten some highlights a little more compared to it's Custom/Professional Mode. Could you check again with Pro and FMM and see if they are a closer match or is it the same? Thanks! Also you said the Game Mode test wasn't good and Sony might be made better so don't trust that part of the video? Could you maybe think about making another video with Pro and FMM and proper game mode on both, if it improves the comparison? I'm glad you are using lots of real content for both your SDR and HDR comparisons now that's a good change! Also I noticed on the Sony it looked like it had more raised blacks on the black bars or was that a reflection? The Sony just seemed alot darker than the Samsung in Cinema Mode and had better colour and clarity. If you could check those settings again that would be great! It could really narrow the gap if you just switched both to their most accurate modes maybe or the Samsung will seem blown out on camera if it's using Active Tone mapping. And in SDR try to match the APL brightness too the best you can. I just want to know if the Sony is really that good for movies/series? It seemed so much better but could be the settings and camera making it look much worse than in real life.....
The Sony has a noticeably warmer picture which works ok in movies not so much in gaming. Also if the Sony has an IPS panel as I read in other comments it would have poor contrast levels. Feel that with a little calibration the Samsung would be the better TV.
Another proof that Qled is actually more of a marketing gimmick which a conventional led screen can easely surpass with top hard and software. Thank you Sony ❤!

The Bravia 3 isn't bad for a 60hz tv
It’s pretty awesome on movies
True

Hi Steve
Please make a video on best picture and sound settings for Bravia 3.
It doesn’t support the bravia calman app and takes about 3-4 hrs. I will probably do it but it will be about a month

Sometimes you don’t know until you just put them side-by-side and film them.
I just got the q60d 32inch and I really like it man 😁
More pixels density, it will look amazing on 4k
potential review for LG QNED mini LEDs?
No qned reviews, I would have to purchase.

Excellent choice 👌
What's the next project coming for us Steve
I have more comparisons, Portable devices, projectors and the TCL98" Cooming Soon
@TechSteve we are looking at getting the Hisense PX3 or a Benq projector TK 850 OR TK 710 any thoughts 🤔

I appreciate your insight, general when a video goes live I don’t repeat the same video
What size screen is the Bravia 3 in this video?
55”
The Samsung looks soooo washed out. It's not even close, the Sony seems way better. I plan on getting an 85" XR X90L. Thanks for the comparison!
You’re welcome

I think this 55” is a VA panel www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/0d8439ca
Hello Steve
Hey Eddie, Happy Holidays
Brigther doesn't mean better, the SONY BRAVIA 3 wins...
Another proof that Qled is actually more of a marketing gimmick which a conventional led screen can easely surpass with top hard and software. Thank you Sony ❤!
In parts of this video the Samsung Q60D tv display looks bad!!! But in person my 50 inch Samsung Q60D tv display looks great!!! 🙂
Film your TV with a cellphone on black scenes in the dark
@@TechSteve My Q60D tv looks great in a dark room with dark scenes with my own eyes 👀, but not so good looking through your camera.
The camera isn’t the same as seeing live. Plus i’m using a splitter
The Samsung kinda looks like doo-doo beans through your camera.
It a Sony FX3 cinema camera and i film HLG HDR
