Back in 2001 when I first start skating, I rode switch for 6 months cause I didn't know I could change stances and i simply skated that way, sw heelflip was the third trick I ever landed 22 years ago, sw kickflip and sw b/s shove-it was the first and second tricks learned respectively, so it might be very unlikely I think it is possible to be in that 4%.
@@thyho if it’s your only stance, it’s not switch. “switch” is the opposite of whatever you’re best in. you just changed stances after 6 months. you started out goofy and now you’re regular (or vice versa).
@@frozennorth3426 It was definitely switch because it was uncomfortable to skate that way, the dude that gave me my first skate was goofy and I mimicked him until I figured out I could skate with my left foot in front.
My switch heelflip always looked better. Not always easier but my regular heelflip had a rocket tilt to it. I can no longer shred due to older age but I keep busy with my piano and hookers. I miss skateboarding though.
i didnt learn switch heel until i was in high school maybe and even then i always had switch varial heelflip better, it was around age 30 that i really learned it
Switch and nollie heels were always my worst of the straight 8. I had friends that were super good at them so I just tried getting good at other stuff. Though, I do remember the first one I landed. I had been trying back foot heelflips for some reason (actually landed a couple, had a phase where I tried a lot of late stuff) and after landing one fakie I just tried a switch heel and it worked first try. I tried probably for the next hour to land just one more, and couldn't do one... probably credit-carded myself in the process.
I put battle at the berrics on when I want to take a nap personally. Berra only cares about money, clout, and scientology, so it's no wonder it went to shit. It's just es game of skate without the organization and little tape rectangle on the floor.
@Dumb Data that style of competition was Kostons baby and he brought it to the Berrics so I wouldn't say that. Koston has been pretty brand loyal and seems like a genuine dude in a lot of ways. Berra is the capitalist. He used to be a vert skater and switched to street in the early 90s to maintain relevance. I saw an interview in a magazine from the early 90s where he said he's not a fan of flatground. If BATB lacks now in the opinions of fans it's most likely because of Koston being less involved.
@@666shredordie agree with everything except koston being brand loyal - girl, numbers, skate mental, es, lakai, Nike. Nothing wrong with it if you’re going for the biggest payout but that’s not really brand loyal imo
@Dumb Data well that's why I said "pretty brand loyal" because being a professional skateboarder means you're making a living off of it so yeah you gotta do what you gotta do...but some people change sponsors like pants. Koston still rips though, does Berra even skate anymore? 😂
The technical reason why switch heels are easier than regular heels for a lot of people is simply because when doing a heelflip it acc helps to have ur shoulders square or even have them pointing backwards. So since most people ride switch with having their shoulders pointed backwards it makes switch heels easier.
This is so precise & gave me a totally new perspective with heel flip variations that I woulda never considered before. Top tier video and great research!!
The disrespect to Sierra Fellers for Slap not including his phenomenal switch heels from Foundation 'That's Life' or 'Cataclysmic Abyss' or Circa 'It's Time' is appalling!
Switch heels were my first switch flip trick, along with switch fs 180 heels, and switch varial heels, learned them all in the same week.. I did all 3 down the local 4 set(long 4) my friend was a heelflipper but skated goofy, I could only do heelflip trick (and fs flips) in switch stance.. I can do fakie and half cab heels but a straight heel flip is one of the hardest to this day
switch makes sense. don’t do it enough and as a result i tend not to flick it hard enough. but makes it so i practically credit card every time i start trying nollie heels.
Switch heel was actually my first flip trick 😂 can do them regular now too but still have a more consistent flick in switch, maybe because I’m regular but right footed?
So crazy for this to pop up in my recommended today when earlier this morning I was trying to do a switch heel. Mind you, I can only switch 180 and almost switch bigspin. But I was just tellin one of my friends that I think the first flip trick I'll probably land will be a switch/nollie heel haha
I consider myself a "heel flipper", but man.. one time I was cruising and tried a casual nollie heel, missed the slide and pretty much went straight popsicle hahaha. Since then I don't really mess with nollie heels
should have added the clip of Nyjah switch heeling those really long blocks/stairs.... You know, the one that Josling back 3d and decenzo hard flipped......
He analyzed data. He doesn’t need to practice what he analizes, he needs to know how to quantify these tricks and make interesting data out of it. If a 10th grader made this as a school project, who never ever skated before, he would still have the same data. That’s the beauty of facts. Besides this, to be the skate nerd he is, it’s impossible to really think that this dude doesn’t skate. That’s a very stupid point to make. Why am I even replying? We are not on the same level
If the first trick you learned was a switch heel, it wasn’t switch.
my man killin the comments section lately
trans goofy, is really a fakie?

wait what
Maybe you can find a skateboarding hooker
bro just casually dropped hookers like we wouldn’t notice
Next to Nollie backside heel this is one of the best feeling tricks.
You do execute them wonderfully Mo💎
Luan's switch heel on flat is worth mention. Its higher than most pros regulars kickflip
Switch varial triple heelfip was my first trick I ever learned. Landed it first try too
Congrats Joe!
@@dumbdata34 Thanks lol. Glad you’re posting again.
Whole skatepark did stop and clap i suppose, perhaps even people who just walked by🥳

Answer me this data guy, why are black people so good at heelflips?
"White dudes can't dance..." "White dudes can't jump...." Good switch heels need style and pop so... 🤷♂
Riding switch is like throwing a football left handed.

I love switch heels, best feeling gap trick
Creager putting his hand down to catch himself was wild beast wrists
You can tell that Ishod was doing A LOT of sw heels in 2018🤣
This may be my personal fav so far

Hey, it would be cool if Dumb Data also analysed Woodward's Mano a Mano competition on the miniramp
i’ve accepted the fact that i’ll never be able to switch heel, i got good switch flips and switch varial heels tho
😮 how! Switch heel is a really easy one
If you got a good switch ollie, switch heels are the easiest shit ever

Once I learned switch heels they were easier and looked better than my regular. Same goes for my switch flips

don't know what # of trick it was, but I can confidently say it's my most consistent flatground trick
You'll notice goofy riders have a really nice switch heelflip. It's proof goofy is a dumb stance.
Sierra Fellers' switch heels are pretty tweaked out

John Dilo, Jimmy Cao, Wes, Evan Smith, Antwuan Dixon, Shane O'Neill, Nick Tucker and Hyun Khummer got best sw heel. Just my opinion tbh
I really like the sw heel from twuan in baker 3
Switch heel flip is the only flip I’ve landed once and said “not doing that again”.
Id love to see luans sw fs 360 varial heel
Everyone knows sierra fellers has the best sw heel 🔥🙌🏻
13:30 😂😂😂 BIG BOI FOY
that edit on 15:38 took me out with that bogus ass switch heel 😭

switch heel's are easier to learn than switch kickflips cuz you don't need to flick the ankle. It's less effort
Got em locked down
Thank you daddy for educating me
love you babe
I always almost sack trying this trick.
switch heels are easy, you only have to flick really strong, and then figure it out how to land it
Are you trolling
Switch heel for me is like popping a proper switch Ollie and then flicking the board after my Ollie levels out a bit
Switch heels absolutely are the easiest ones, for me it came very easy. Stand in sw heel position, do a sw ollie and spread your legs, done.
Damn, I find Switch Heels MUCH easier than Nollie Heels. Can’t believe Nollie is high %
Switch fakie half cab frontside finger heel flip was my first trick
pretty basic but you're on the wright track
your next video could be the most technical video part calculated with maths
Chris Chann did a varial double heel on the match against Cole, BATB pros vs Joes. I belive it was the deathblow
it was switch, sry =)
in my opinion nick tucker, Sierra Fellers and Will Fyock have the best switch heelflips
So we are all just gonna forget about sierra fellers? Best switch heel in the fucking game. If you disagree, you haven't seen it.
My favorite sw heel at the moment: ua-cam.com/video/Y_KaZQwCOyY/v-deo.html
I made the it in the comments! Do you think there will be a batb 14 though?
you forgot brian wennings switch heel DC video in his intro
I have them but not consistent
Leaving Auby Taylor out? Damn.
if you do any flip trick like this 10:17 it automatically loses its original name to now be called a rocket flip
Switch heels are way easier than nollie heels
Please analyze gifted haters part
Me: still has janky Ollie's after 2 years of skating and can't kick flip
Everyone in comment section: switch heels are easy
😔

thank you~!!
I'd give this video a thumbs up but it's already got 69 of them and well... you know.
very understandable thank you for your consideration

same
Why not say a Gazelle heel instead of a nollie back 360 heel? I feel like the later is a mouth full to say
I lack education in the gazelle nomenclature
A gazelle would be a nollie bigspin heel 360 right? Not a nollie 360 heel…
@Makabert Abylons I was typing fast, but yea that's I meant.
