I just watched today's wrecker work, They test flexed it, And the tires are hitting the shock tower and suspension, so the easy fix is wheel spacers, so it's probably going wider? Or they have to go smaller wheels
@@alangriggs4420 have you seen the video? Matt's off road recovery, Worlds largest recovery recker, They would have to redesign engine compartment, cooling area, and steering systems, the shock towers are massive,
Technically, it was the remote reservoirs currently mounted to the exterior face of the shock that were rubbing which I think can be relocated. That should help if not solve the problem entirely and as they said when flexing the wrecker out, it would be the rare situation in which this rig would be flexed out that much while working. Matt didn't seem concerned about it so I am sure it was an issue he anticipaed and already has a plan for addressing.
Wow, I've completely missed that the wrecker is getting a Raylar engine swap. If the Tow Truck Olympics has a drag race component, the Heavy Wrecker is going to be hard to beat despite its size. I don't know what gear you'd start with, but with 700ft-lb of torque it just might launch strongly in close to top gear. This is all guess work based on very little experience, but it is going to be a fun truck to drive, and that's 100%!
Hi watch all the videos for the last year. I'm from the North East of England 🇬🇧. Mat could you tell me why you and Paul measure in feet and inches?? Regards Ronnie
When they complete the project, disassemble everything, sandblast, and put on Rust-Oleum Automotive Truck Bed Coating to protect everything. You have spent too much money not to protect your efforts.
@@4WDTrek I didn't know that. My question was about the criticism. We all know that the majority of the products sold at HF are the products of China. It doesn't surprise me that the quality of the products like winches etc. has improved, because I remember when Americans said Japanese products were junk. No one is laughing about Japanese quality now.
Sorry John, we don't make much of anything in the USA anymore, so no matter where you shop most things are from China and it only takes a tiny percentage of components to get a "made in the USA" label.
These two are in completely different leagues. This will be more capable getting out anywhere, like an offroad wrecker. The HEMTT is more dirt roads and not smaller trails.
@@4WDTrek Matt's wrecker is also for pulling lightweight buggies out of the dunes. The HEMTT is a heavy wrecker. It's just that the moniker of "the world's biggest off road wrecker" is a pretty broad statement.

None of those can go anywhere near the "off road" trails that this is designed for. It's for rescuing jeeps and sidebysides from buggy trails and is easily the biggest wrecker that can go properly off road (not just on gravel roads)
As someone who has done some extensive building as well, my 66 mustang restomod, it's easier to get everything done when you don't care AS much when the paint and body need work. I did all the mechanical work prior to finishing the body. It would be the worst to get it show finish ready and get a little weld spatter on the paint, or accidentally get a ding on the body or something. @@UtahMortgagePro1 great news, I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL and all your employees. you have some awesome vehicles... and I for one have been waiting on the wrecker to be finished (probably not as much as you are)
I can hardly wait!! To see this wrecker finally finished!!!! And doing it’s 1st rescue!!
I'm super stoked to see that thing in action. I'm hoping he gets it done for EJS. Hopefully can get on a trail with it!
Matt and his team rock! Good people with an awesome channel.
I agree. And they are super great in person, not just social media personalities.
That's great that you got to do this.
It was pretty awesome meeting him! Such an awesome guy and awesome crew!
Really enjoyed this video....Matt seems like a really cool guy. Thanks for sharing!
He definitely was a very nice guy. Super down to earth and pleasant. I can't wait to get out with him and wheel
Subscribed. Hope to see you wheelin with Matt someday.
Thanks bud!
I'm hoping to be down there with them for EJS this next year.
That thing is a beast!! Great interview.
It really is! I can't wait to see it running.
Thanks bud!
This was a pleasant crossover surprise to find in my sub feed since I'm subscribed to you both haha - good interview!
That is awesome! He was such an awesome guy. Super fun to talk to. And the wrecker is crazy!
Another cool video. You'r the man Matt.
He's a super awesome dude.
this was really well done having seen loads of people interviewing Matt about the wrecker
Thank you.
Hoping he brings it to EJS! That thing is huge!
I hope I can make it to EJS! Haha
Ask Natt when the offroad wrecker Olympics will be!
I dont have much contact with them. But I'll ask when I do!
Should Be Named " OL Yeller " After the Dog In The Book . . . .
Just hope not to take it out back..
"We need a vehicle that can do this"... Sounds like the A-Team...
Haha yeah it does

I haven't watched it quite yet.
If they space it out a tad, yeah it will get even wider!
Angle the towers inward a couple of inches.

I bet that thing will be insanely capable for sure with that much torque

In the USA they still use that system of measurement.
We use the imperial method to measure everything in the USA. Everything is feet and inches here.
I think Heavy D has you beat for the worlds biggest off road wrecker.
Maybe. But we will see when he gets it completed
On the wrecker has is big tires.
It does have very large tires
I know "Harbor Freight" means $$$$$ but I think it detracts the logo and the looks of the truck.
It was only on there for the show with magnetic banners.
If I was Matt would have taken all the Harbour Fright stickers off my machine
Harbor freight invited him to bring the wrecker to SEMA. He was repping the brand for them for the show. They were only temporary.

I'm sure they will do something once it's finished
Might be a bit of overkill for the natural environment that is Southern Utah... I'm sure they'll take whatever precautions are necessary.
I wonder how much criticism Matt gets for being sponsored by Chinese companies like Harbor Freight.
Harbor Freight was founded and is still operated in Southern California.

That was at four wheel drive floor jack they got a four wheel drive creeper too huge Wheels
I definitely want one of those 4 wheel jacks. Those things are awesome
$10,000,000 TOW TRUCK
