Hi fellow New Yorker here, my husband was born in Buenos Aires and we’re thinking of visiting after the holidays. Thanks for all the input and Love your fur babies.
Hey Chanel! I'm Puerto Rican from LA and I just moved less than 2 months ago to Buenos Aires w my Argentine husband. :) I relate to your videos a lot! Good job!
For Shoes you need to go to the "outlet zone". Is a five by four blocks, where it is full of stores selling out-of-season shoes, or perhaps "second selection" which are basically shoes with a minimal imperfection, such as a double stitch or similar, and that cost half or a third. They are normally on the streets of Loyola and Serano APPROXIMATELY. The good thing is that it is also full of cute cafes and close to Corrientes Avenue. Also, if you reaally like your older shoes, you can go to some shops called "zapaterias"and repair thoses, they do an amazing work.
Era la noche de los museos! is a yearly event where every museum is free and some goverment buildings too! It's so sad that you spent like that :( Better luck next year!
It's great to take time off for yourself, that is also part of our Argentinian culture, wish you guys the best of luck with the moving.

Chanel, you and Mike should get a faucet-mount water filter. I had a Brita when I was down there 20 years ago - and it really did the trick. Stay cool, and All the Best!

Hi guys. I went the other way. Born and raised Portenio living in NYC for the last 14 years. I have fun watching you going through my reverse life. I still try to do things the BA way...and failing of course. I hope you love my home town.
If you didn't already, look up the (fascinating) history of the word itself, "quilombo". We degenerated it to mean a mess, but it's a beautiful african word we inherited from, well, afroargentines. And in Brazil too, there were many Quilombos and they meant a whole different, fiery, thing...

I found your channel by chance, and my friend and I also went to that event! We weren't expecting a lot, maybe some food stands, ofrenda and maybe some dancing? It was kinda disappointing for how short the experience actually was... though we got some pan de muerto and a baby coca-cola so it wasn't a total waste of time. Hope next year they manage to organise it better, a cheap ticket could help a lot too!

I went shoe-shopping in NY and felt that the people in sales weren't really interested in actually selling (opposed to BA where they will latch to you and make sure you leave with something no matter what)
With my experience in NY it’s more like they are there to help and assist compared to sell (I don’t think any commission is made, but I could be wrong)
I work at a co-working space in Palermo, and I went today to Tres De Febrero Park. That hamburger trailer has choripan on the east side of the park. I go to that park a lot. It is a great place to relax or walk around

Careful with this! "Dia de los fieles difuntos" is NOT the same as "Dia de los muertos". Even if Halloween, Dia de los muertos and Dia de los Fieles Difuntos have similar concepts behind them, as these celebrations paying homage to the dead exist in almost every culture, the festivities include an array of practices that vary significantly between cultures. I'm Argentine and I live in the US, in California where the Mexican community is STRONG and I promise you, we have nothing like "Dia de los muertos", not even close.

Actually, the word Quilombo it's a word that has bad connotations. First i thought that you were reffering to "Lindo Quilombo". Last saturday was the night of the museums. I am from Bs. As. but i prefer wrinting to you in english so i can practise haha.
I'm visiting buenos aires and went to the embassy that night- the lines were crazy- i agree with michael, i think it was closer to 2000 lol. I thought that was the the longest line I've ever seen until I was went to la noche de los museos 😂
Hola Chanel!

Leave it to the argentineans to queue around an entire block 😂😂, queueing culture is probably one of the things I'm most proud of about my compatriots but I guess it can backfire spectacularly too
thats a quiet day in Plaza de Mayo hahaha i hope that you never face a Piquete, is less comune now with the new goverment but back in the day were everyday more than ten thousends people wageing riots in Cabildo
Nobody calls it 3 de febrero. Just Palermo, or Parques de Palermo. And the weather is a bit humid but not that much: it is humid compared to an arid place like Arizona, so the heat is more noticeable, but not really humid like Rio de Janeiro, for example.

Yes I’ve worn not great popular name brand shoes I think every brand has its stand outs and it’s not so greats 😅
Actually, the word Quilombo it's a word that has bad connotations. First i thought that you were reffering to "Lindo Quilombo". Last saturday was the night of the museums. I am from Bs. As. but i prefer wrinting to you in english so i can practise haha.
good luck ..wherever you move ..👍👍🩷🩷

That event at the Mexican embassy was a non-starter (a word I learned not long ago and I like using whenever I have the chance haha).
😂😂
I'm visiting buenos aires and went to the embassy that night- the lines were crazy- i agree with michael, i think it was closer to 2000 lol. I thought that was the the longest line I've ever seen until I was went to la noche de los museos 😂
😂😂 one weekend right after the next!!
I'm going with Michael on this, must be 2k or even more.
This could be 😅
Hola Chanel!

👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
❤️❤️🫶🏻🫶🏻
Looking forward to hearing about a baby video!!!😍😍😍
Nooo solo mascotas 😂
🤣🤣🤣 EPIC TITLE !!!
😂🫶🏻🇦🇷
Leave it to the argentineans to queue around an entire block 😂😂, queueing culture is probably one of the things I'm most proud of about my compatriots but I guess it can backfire spectacularly too
I’m so shocked by the patience people have here!!! So many ques 😂

😂
Americans from which country? 'Cause América is a continent
Aguante jaguar
Welcome to Mexico!! 😂
😂😂😂
Nobody calls it 3 de febrero. Just Palermo, or Parques de Palermo. And the weather is a bit humid but not that much: it is humid compared to an arid place like Arizona, so the heat is more noticeable, but not really humid like Rio de Janeiro, for example.
