Miller was always a fighter. That's what I liked about her.

A Shushunova (RIP) inspired floor's exercise!

She didn't do better than 8th because of these reasons:
Bars: Missed handstands, not the cleanest lines
Floor: Stumble on the DL, OOB on full-in
Vault: Landing issues, a little bit of a pike on both vaults

So in other words, she sucked?

I thought Shannon's handstands were fine for 1996 standards, but she caught her geinger quite close. That also affected her score in the team competition

The 2nd vault was the most perfect vault she has ever done . Pause it if you don't believe me.

That was the most God-awful floor music ever

That all-around gold was just so elusive wasn't it? Eh. Poor girl. Beam gold. Just like Shawn Johnson.

A gold medal on balance beam is considered to be a tough apparatus for the mind and body (happens to be the toughest apparatus for the women). Miller and Johnson are 2 wonderful gymnasts. I know what you were trying to insinuate here . Looks like you love to troll Shannon on every single video, dont you;)?

@@annapavfan4680 Of course both Shawn and Shannon are amazing but both do regret not winning the Olympic AA gold. Shawn inparticular, Shannon atleast has been low key about it, but Shawn admitted dealing with depression even after her amazing 2008 Beijing Olympics since she lost the AA and taking years to get over it. Some of her documentaries online where she speaks about it are still there. The Olympic AA is the beacon of the sport and numerous greats missed it, Khorkina and Silivas being 2 others.

Silver all around in ‘92. Should’ve been gold, everything in her overall aesthetic was superior. She then won back to back all around world titles, team and beam gold here. I’d say she’s ok lol

Should have taken out that double lay out on floor and done an arabian double front.

Did she have a chance to medal for all around in ‘96 would anyone say? I don’t see why not. Or just not enough difficulty or too many little mistakes?

Her routine started from a 9.9 if I remember right. That big step forward on her double layout and going out of bounds on her tumbling pass didn’t help either. If she competed the same sort of routine that she did at Nationals I think she would’ve medaled.

You can see the biased U.S judging in a couple places, especialy a 9.862 on beam with a blatant step back on her two layouts series. The worst of all was Dawes getting a 9.812 on bars with a giant stumble back on her dismount though, comical.

Biased US judging? The panel of judges are made of international judges and there was no bias, which was evident in their rankings.

@@pappysprite Some scores for the Americans were ridiculous though. Dawes's bar score in the AA with a huge step back on the landing and getting a higher score than Mo's amazing bar routine for instance. Dawes even remarked after her bar event finals score it was strange she did by far her best bar routine of the Games and got her lowest score, and lower than the AA when she had a huge step back. And Strug's compulsory floor score where she had good tumbling but all the grace of a rhinosaurus, particular for the classically styled compulsory floor routine that year.
Of course they weren't the only ones. Milo's compulsory vault and bar scores for instance.
