I've just watched the last post of Dotty, which was a marathon .The way you showed bit by bit and the hard work was fantastic did it sell for a lot of money. i hope so because you deserve every penny.
God, I remember the car park! Tarpaulins and working/welding in the rain. I know you never intended to do a full restoration of the diesel but I’m so glad you have, it’s going to be gorgeous when it’s finished (which it probably is by now?). I love the randomness of the videos, you never know what gem pops up. 😃
That was fascinating - your engineering prowess is just off the scale. That rare combination of brains and practical skills is just a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Whenever he says "It's a pain in the arse doing this job on our own" am I the only one who feels like saying "Hold on mate, I'll pop over and give you a hand!" ? 😂 Love these videos, James. Even if it's just you faffing around, they're very informative and it amazes me how you inow so much about these cars. For as long as you keep posting vids, I'll keep watching them 😊
James another great video your attention to detail is amazing your videos are so informative I am learning so much about my SD1 through your videos, The diesel is looking outstanding and has come so far since the cold rainy days and nights in your works car park absolutely stunning example hope you keep the diesel and enjoy the fruits of all your hard work👍
I had an SD1 years ago and foolhardily decided to change the heater matrix Blimey that was way more complicated than I had bargained for. Got it done, though. I'm impressed by the complexity of the thing. The people that designed that thing must have had a great imagination and understanding of mechanisms. Glad to see you posting again. Mart.
I have been following since before you moved from the office carpark 2-3 months. i felt sorry for you in the cold :P I am not a rover fan as such but a diesel sd1 i didn't even know that was a thing and you do a nice looking job. VW in their infinite wisdom decided to not only have foam that crumbled to seal and whatever it does but also to have some huge holes in the heater flaps so when it went it went, cold air in winter and hot during summer :P
Thanks for the video. Snowballed abit didn’t it. Love your half assed narrative followed by the total opposite. 😂. I do remember the car park but had forgotten it’s the same car. I think I would lose my shit with the garage. When we starting the green one
Car park seems so long ago. Would love to start the green one but at the moment time is short. Need other projects finished and done before I start the green one ☹️
Seeing how well this is coming out, do you think it was the right decision to fully restore? I’d be feeling really smug 😂 How many 2400’s do you see now?! And in this condition!
From the looks of it I'd say that trying to fix up the heater box on an SD1 is no easy task and would defeat many but on the flip side the heater units do look quite effective in good working order... The fear of a leaky matrix and supply pipes is all to obvious so It just strikes me that investigation of some kind of electric / thermal element as apposed to hot fluid heating supply would make a bag of sense... any ideas on this...!? The eradication of any kind of water ingress in any SD1 restoration can only be a good thing...!??
Hope alls well with you and haven’t left us for too long 😊

It's worth putting more time on the car you spent so much time welding it up,look great 👍
Very nice job the rover diesel is looking so good 🐕🎖
Thanks
Always delighted to see another video James 😉👍🇬🇧
Cheers David
This car has come so far since you got it started in the car park 😂😂. Good to see the progress. Keep it up
Good call swapping the heater boxes. Nothing worse than coolant leaks inside the car!
Deffo and the shite that get fired from them when all the foam turns to crumbs

Posted a comment this morning regarding workshop cleanliness and strangely it has disappeared.
Yeah it’s weird, I got the notification of the message but it’s disappeared now???
Yes the car park days, didn’t I get a fright when you moved it indoors
