This Hemlock character is just terrifying. The fact that he said “I’m immune to my own nerve gas” suggests that he’s insanely crazy and his dark experiments are a lot more twisted than we thought.

While I love Star Wars, I'm also a huge history nerd. That being said, Dr. Hemlock reminds me a lot of Dr.Mengele, who was an SS Doctor for the Nazis in WWII and would not only order and authorize experimentation on prisoners in concentration camps, but would carry out some of those experiments himself. Since the Empire is basically space nazis, I think Dr.Hemlock is the Star Wars equivalent of Dr.Mengele. Just a thought.

@@GrandAdmiralThrawn.7th_Fleet Perhaps, like Mengele, he ultimately survived the Galactic Civil War (an analogue to WWII), and escaped to the Unknown Regions (as Mengele escaped to South America following the end of the war), possibly continuing his work in some Star Wars equivalent of, e.g., Colonia Dignidad and/or Cândido Godói. I suppose time will tell whether this was the case or not.

@@VanSisean Ooh, that'd be an interesting plot. What if Exegol is the South America in this plot line. Hemlock continued his research post Galactic Civil War and collaborated with Moff Gideon's team and together, they were ultimately responsible for bringing back Palpatine and for the cloning facility there. After all, if you've ever seen "Boys From Brazil" that was the primary plot. Mengele was in Brazil, researching how to clone and recreate a living Hitler. What if they pull that exact plot with Hemlock, Palpatine, and Exegol in Bad Batch? That would be a somewhat redeeming storyline for the Sequels, and it would certainly at the very least give it some backstory.

He either engineered the nerve gas to be no effect on his body
Or he exposed himself to his own toxins until his body became immune to it
Either way it characterizes how dangerous he is
