I asked my dad about making a ledge with me and we came up with the idea of using wooden pallets. 2 pallets tall and 2 pallets long with a piece of wood over the top with metal coping and screwed together.

Could you guys build an aframe using the kicker
The reason why your saws are smoking and aren’t cutting right is because you’re cutting metal without a different blade and it’s ruining your blades. There’s blades made specifically for metal and others exclusively for wood. I’d also recommend replacing the mitre saw’s blade because you cut steel with it and will eventually start smoking as well.
Edit: Some thinner metals are okay, and these videos are really entertaining so just a heads up

Got to 3:30 and calmed down, that was a tile saw which is why it was smoking! Glad you guys got a proper mitre saw. Ok, maybe not a tile saw, got closer to the end of the video. I want to make a ledge now.

I made one in like 15 minutes. all i used was a plank of wood and some other peices of wood underneath on each corner and i nailed them in then i waxed it up and worked perfect.

2:50 and that is why you don't cross cut with that kind of saw.
also 2" x 4" measures in at 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" so the length of those cross boards should be 3'9" to fit the ply on top.
for anyone trying to do this themselves

quick tip... pre-drill holes to prevent splitting in wood and to guide screws straight..and use a impact drill which are actually made for wood screws. still love the video tho ;)

I would do it like the truck board thing whats it called? Like where the spikes can go in truck and vaneer top of it, then just add a "L" coping to the side.

the reason that it was caching on fire is the saw is for cutting tiles so your meant to put water where the blade goes and you were using the tile blade not the wood one

It’s not that the plywood was too small, it’s that the “2x4’s” are actually smaller than that, I don’t know off of the top of my head, but when you make more ramps, keep that in mind. Keep up the great vids, they make me want to go make my own ramps!!

Just for future builds a 2x4 isn’t actually 2”x4” it’s more like 1.5”x3.5”. You can measure for yourself if you want. I know it sounds counterintuitive but that’s just how they make them. Loved the video tho keep up the good work.

The table saw was binding because the blade was dull or warped. But buying the miter is probably for the best because I hereby ban you from coming within 10 feet of a table saw ever again.
