So I finally decided to get this game and I'm pleased to say the combat is not clunky! Some say it feels "floaty" and I can see that a little bit, but there's still that feeling of making impact which is super important. The best description I can give is it actually feels like you're hitting a stuffed animal lol. Seriously and no pun intended. Meaning: the combat does feel like your making impact with the enemy, but it's not heavy feeling, it feels "light," there's no weight to the hits, instead, it feels like a pillow fight. I rather have any type of feeling to the combat instead of nothing at all, which was my biggest concern. The controls are very smooth as well, not perfect, but good enough to enjoy looking around without it feeling janky. The controls are smoother than Outriders for example after some adjustments. That's also super important. The combat is simple in terms that there is heavy auto aim, but after spending an hour I noticed you can do some pretty crazy combos along with the parry. For a game made by 20 devs is very enjoyable so far.

I have a question for anyone that can answer me since I only started playing this game recently as it's now available for free with the proper PS+ subscription. I'm wondering if you can upgrade the tribe armor to make it competitive with other options we can find or buy, or if they're always going to be inferior to the other options? I am about to switch tribes to join the Jagni in the hopes that I can upgrade this armor, even with heavy investment, to be as good as anything else I find/buy. Any information would be helpful.
Why wear an animal mask when you already have a head that looks the same but much better? Especially after you've had a good time working on that look. I prefer to wear the least amount of armor, a loincloth and that's it, and maybe a headband or something that covers that little. As for weapons, I like all that kung fu stuff, so I only use the staff of the Jagni tribe or a baseball bat (no nails or screws, I'm not a bloody butcher haha) and instead of using firearms I use the boomerang, the shuriquens or the bow... although as far as I know these weapons cannot be improved, right?
I find the armor crafting is pointless if your going range attack....because with the ultimate rifle there dead before they ever reach you....so I just find a armor set that looks good and just upgrade it...
Still pretty early in on the game, where do I find the rubber components? I think I have a handful of the rest, but literally 0 rubber. Are there places for "farming" the mats?
@@dknollRX7 you know, with the probably thousands of hours I've spent playing these types of games, for some reason I was just selling gear instead of scrapping it 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ I'm an idiot sometimes 😂

Did you experience any resistance loss from attaching addons to gear? I am playing on steam and currently can't place addons on gear without it voiding the resistance on that piece of gear. If I remove the addon from the gear afterwards it even affects the resistances I gained from mutations. I've seen people mention that this is a bug related to the mutation pools, but I have this happen even on a new character that has yet to use a pool.
Another “guide” that doesn’t really cover “everything”. Nice try though Needs examples of damage against different types of enemies. Why a crafter would choose one top mod over another, what type of enemies armor piercing works best on. How crafted weapons affect dual wielding, and the list goes on.
I think my biggest let down of this game is that enemies effectively become damage sponges if you play on hard... Even "normal enemies" take just a SHIT down of damage before going down. I'm using all orange "rare" components/add-ons for higher for both of my dual-wielding weapons. There's no reason why a normal enemy should take 2-3 FULL standard combos before dying. The quadruped enemies can take 5-10 minutes, and they can basically 2 hit you. It's BS. Thank god there's no achievement for beating it on hard mode. Can't wait for melee weapons to be updated to provide more "OOMF" and animation interrupts for enemies.

eh. upgrading your weapons in this game do little to nothing for the most part, especially later in the game. not only that, but to get an "ultimate" quality piece of gear, it's going to take a lot of resources. so unless you're upgrading a piece and then going out to farm for resources, you're just wasting your time. not to mention there are entire pieces of armor, and weapons in this game that can't be upgraded or modified at all.
Hey Codiak, great video. Question: Is there any place that shows a breakdown of the Quality names (Boostoid IV) or Material (Diam X)? Can anyone tell me how to use incendiary module or the cryo ones? I have multiple of them and can't seem to figure out how to use them or craft with them
I believe they’re “consumables” so you should be able to pin them from your consumable tab and then they’ll show up on the wheel when you hold “up” on the d-pad. Then you should be able to select that and those rounds should be loaded into your equipped range weapon. I might be wrong, as I’m still learning this game, but I think that’s how it works. I’ve accidentally equipped them when looting, rather than just taking the items, but I’ve never tried adding them on later.
What if u mod an ultimate weapon with parts and decide to put those on other weapons. Can u just remove the parts off the ultimate weapon or do u have to scrap it like a normal weapon and if u do what happens to the ultimate weapon?
you'd have to scrap it. but whenever you scrap a weapon, you get the base back, so if it was an ultimate base, you'd still have it. if the "ultimate weapon" became ultimate through the sum of its parts, theoretically you could recreate a similar ultimate weapon using those parts. depends heavily on the base of the new weapon.
