❤ love to see that bike back in the trails! I still have my blue LTS-3 I was 16 and it was my first serious MTB! Still use it when I go for a ride with my kids.
Damm, show the GT love. I have a 1996 Zaskar and LTS3...both are awesome bikes. I'm going to be 54 this year and I got mine when I was 26yrs old. These bikes last forever if you take good care of them.
I have one (1997 LTS-1000). Only changes are a triple clamp Judy XL 100 and Avid Arch brakes. Rarely leaves the basement, used only as a spare for someone that needs to borrow a bike for a big family ride. Nobody is in a hurry to ride it, but they're always smiling when they get off it.
I actually still have my old LTS and it is a tank of a bike and had to replace a few items due to standard riding. I have destroyed the real detailed a couple times through the years over big logs and something catching it. In fact my only wrecks have come from both times when. Something caught that silly derailer. Now here’s a question for you I am actually Loki g to get a new front shock finally and some disc brakes to finally bring it into the 2000s. What would you mod the brakes and fro t shock to
Great clips as always bro! Miles👍😊🚵 Been loving all podcast's. Listened to the Joe Nation pod last night! So many hectic lols!🤣😂 Keep up the amazing work! Hope your awesome!
@@wyntv6148 you don't need to reply here because I know you have heaps to reply/keep on top of. But so much respect to you, to always reply. That's A&B. Above and beyond! We would have raced together in the super early days! I was XC & road with Wagon etc. I'm about to get a slash 8 & move up from there! I'm hard keen to be racing enduro someday shortly. I live in Coromandel in my hometown atm. Hope to catch you up/wheelies on a trail soon :) p.s you're a legend! Cheers. Dude!
@@mtbtime2490 Cheers man appreciate it, those early days of NZ national racing were a good time thats for sure, Good to hear you on the right bikes these days. cheers man catch you in NZ sometime!
Is there anywhere where I can get aftermarket parts to improve my 1995-1997 gt LTS 2 mtb?? I've looked everywhere, and fortunately i was actually able to find the ORIGINAL yellow and black stickers/decals for the bike!! One person on the entire internet ACTUALLY has the REAL factory original peel off decals FOR that exact bike. They're $60 but man what a find! Bikes going to look new again!
I reckon times would have been closer had the 97 LTS been shod with meatier tires and disk brakes. But still, 5 seconds is an eternity on a 2-minute track.
I've got a 1996 Santa Cruz Heckler, I still ride it regularly on intermediate trails (both up and down). I also own a 1997 LTS 3, but the rear suspension doesn't feel anywhere near as active or plush, both coil sprung (Rock Shox). Sure, the Heckler flexes a bit in the back end but it eats up every single bump without hesitation, and doesn't have any adverse effects when braking or pedalling. I've yet to find a GT I enjoyed riding, I'm a retro mtb collector and don't have any brand loyalty, but I do think the single pivot bikes have probably dated the best. Classic GTs are just too expensive anyway thanks to brand hype etc.
Hi m8 great videos, i have the exact same bike as yours 1997. What are they worth? Other than ebay struggling to find info on this bike is it a gt lts 1 1997? Any help much appreciated 🙏 thanks
You looked good on the 97 LTS but I don't understand comparing which of the two is better? Of course the 2020 bike is going to be better for obvious reasons....I hope this wasn't your attempt to bash a 90's mtb. The 97 LTS was part of the progression that has morphed into the bikes now. The LTS is mtb history and should be respected for what it represented in 1997....the way you rode and the riding skills you process proves it's the rider not the bike.....respect the 90's and older bikes for it is those bikes that paved the path to what we ride now.
❤ love to see that bike back in the trails!

Had a GT LTS DH in the 90ies. Loved it🥳
Had a GT STS DH and almost got LOBO DH as well.😆🚀
I have 1996 STS here with spin wheels.
May sell it

You're slower on the 1997 GT LTS, but you're still faster on it than most can ride in general. Nice shredding!
Truly loved the video and thought you did the GR brand a good justice. Thanks for the good times
Thanks 🙌🏼

Great video. I like your conclusion... you can have fun on any bike. Thanks for the video
What a fun video! Nice job. Bringin' me back.
Awesome video! That POV part at 2:29 pretty much looks like you are riding a match stick! Mad to see how far bikes have come since 97.

Great bike still got my rts and 2009 force 1.0

Haha yeah and it was quite a simple track too so time is harder to come by
Magura hydraulic rim brakes
Not as slow as I thought it might be but then again, if the brakes ain't working then no point slowing down 😂
haha yeah definitely have to look for the smoothest line though
I just pulled an old LTS out of the trash! It just needs a seat and post to be ridden.
I had many great rides on my 1996 GT Team LTS, the best full squish in its time.

Only 20 seconds, holy maholy.. ^^
I've got 2, an LTS 5 & an LTS 4000. Both are quality bike.
Nice job.
I think that the GT LTS DH'97 is squeeking!
I still have my LTS 3 dang I'm getting old
I have an lts3 i bought new and have only ridden it maybe 2 miles
sick bike that one

Man, you're a true globetrotter, willkommen in Tschechien!🍻😆
Cheers enjoyed the bikepark
epic
I will still go with oldschool.. thats all i ride..
are you czech? loved it
no i am not
1:46 😎
yeah klinovec! :)
Good mahi!
Add a Girvin Flex Stem and DCD and you could take a few more seconds off the 97 LTS time *HAHA*
Full travel Z1 and conversion rockers to normal shock-size would treat it way better than an old elastomer stem- coil&oil!
more!, more!,more!, more!, more!, more!, more!, more!,more!, more!, more!, more!,
I almost bought an LTS once.
Lts 4000 bought brand new off showroom floor wanna say paid $999.00 cash at the time
F#@k the LTS. Bring back the A.O.S.
That lts is one of the most hideous looking bikes ever made.
