Riding up or far on a DH bike isn't hard. You just have to stand up and pace yourself. I figure I invented enduro since I used to just go out and do trail rides on My Super 8 in Santa Cruz. Suffer on the up and party on the downs. It always made sense to me. I used to have a training loop that I would do on the UCSC campus. First ride up to campus up High St. and the bike path up the Great Meadow to the Theatre Arts parking lot. Rest. Then start climbing stairs straight up through the heart of campus. The hardest set is a 21 stair st the Thimann Labs. Pop out at the top and drop into Star Wars right back to the start. And repeat. I think that eight laps was my record.
