as for Joker/Yu/Makoto, they're less DQ Hero and more like Triborg from MKX, three different movesets with only one Super shared among them, the Super in question being the All-Out Attack, meanwhile their Level 1s and 3s are different, the reasoning for all three is cause Sakurai decided to rep all 3 Persona games in Mementos via Music/Motifs so I would like Sony to do something similar just with the way I proposed it.
This might be underrated, but I would like to see the vr robot from job simulator

I have a request, will you look into the beta of Sonic Heroes or Battle for Bikini Bottom?

I've told this numerous times that the biggest reason this game failed is because of Sony. No budget, not willing to help them with fan requested IPs and the fact that they dropped the studio *they formed* definitely shows how little of a shit they actually gave about the game
Yep. Superbot really had it rough. From being mistreated and betrayed by Sony to being mocked by the Smash community, it really must have sucked to be them.
These facts alone are the reason I think Sony should outsource a new crossover game to either Dimps, Eighting, or Arc System Works in the event that they finally decide to do another one as maybe a PS5 Launch Title.
This game was released right around the same time that Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time was released and guess what? They did the exact same thing to Sanzaru Games. They basically gave it no advertising and no help for pretty much anything related to that game and then wondered why it never sold well enough to warrant a sequel. At least it was bundled with the PSTV and that sold well... Oh, wait--it didn't, and Sony stopped supporting that project after a little while too. This entire era was just bad on Sony's part.
@@Capnbritish All the more reason why I'm so fucking desperate for a proper Playstation Crossover that harkens back to the previous Gens, complete with all the characters it needs
Well the hate it got from Nintendo fanboys was another reason. The whole "Smash clone ripoff" and whatnot
Never thought the development history of Playstation All Stars could single handedly describe my severe love/hate relationship with Sony
James Houx lmao they bought the movie rights tf you mean stole
But they aren't worth the energy to hate.
@@chadwarden1179 yeah I miss when Sony wasn't political when they released games like Metal Gear Solid and Oddworld and Shadow of the Colossus
Nintendo be like: SUPER SMASH BROS!!!!!!!!!!
Parappa judo kicking Kratos in the face is something I live for.
The sentence "judo kicking" angers me beyond belief
You know what the worst part is? It's not like Superbot Entertainment DIDN'T try to bring in highly requested characters, but couldn't due to agreement and licensing issues.
- Snake was excluded because Hideo Kojima was concerned people would be confused about Snake being in 2 different brawlers. We got Raiden instead.
- Lara Croft was excluded because Crystal Dynamics wanted to wait until the release of the Tomb Raider reboot to see what would happen.
- Wander from Shadow of the Colossus was excluded because Team ICO didn't like the idea of Wander being in a crossover fighting game.
- The original Dante was excluded because Capcom wanted to promote DmC: Devil May Cry. We got DmC Dante instead.
- Crash and Spyro were excluded because Activision asked for too much money in return (As expected from such a greedy company).
Superbot openly acknowledged the large demand for these characters, and it's sad knowing of how hard they tried. But why were Big Daddy and Isaac Clarke included? I have no idea. Anyone knows?
Big Daddy was included because the company that made Bioshock (i forgot the name) helped with some of the funding.
Smash works because Nintendo actually made all those games 1st party, this game didn't because Sony isn't really much of an actual game development company than one that sells hardware and occasionally pays for things to be exclusive.
Yeah I believe Big Daddy was included because originally there was going to be an exclusive Bioshock for the PS Vita but it got cancelled??? So my main guess is Big Daddy was originally put in to promote that exclusive Bioshock game
From what I can remember, there was supposed to be a Bioshock remake coming to the PS3 (or was it Vita?), and Sony decided to capitalize on that by adding him to the roster. I also believe at the time AllStars came out, either Dead Space 2 or 3 was recently released/ had soon to be released.
You can see a pattern here: Sony decided to use the game to market only characters to advertise titles soon to be released/ just recently released.
That reasoning for snake seems a bit weird. Part of me wonders if it was because Kojima wanted to see Raiden in a fighting game personally and have some more variety. Or maybe he thought Nintendo wouldn’t bring snake back into smash if he showed up in a Sony crossover game like this (he didn’t show up in Wii U anyway but)
Am I the only one who thinks the Title Fight prototype intro screen actually looks BETTER than the final incredibly static title screen we got?
the final game's menus and UI were so...lifeless.
no, there are a lot of people who agree with you it seems. I think both are cool. But I do like title fights DVD-esque menu more.
OH HELL YES
Agree, the released UI was so bad imo that I felt I was playing a beta or something.
You aren't the only one to think that the Title Fight prototype intro screen looks better than the static title screen in the final version.
it looks like a tv channel select
So so much new content has come to light here, it brings a tear to my eye.
And yet, that Gravity Rush/Journey stage still eludes us.
The music for that must have been sick...
I would have LOVED to play that!
The stage alone would of been amazing and i can tell, they really drop the ball on this one
Punky Skunk is also absent from this.
if there was someone able to make a fanmade theme song for that stage, maybe matching "Old Town" from Gravity Rush and "Road of Trials" from Journey
hearing someone say parappa's name in this year
i never thought it would come
I think of Parappa suprisingly often lately despite not having played any of his games...

When characters didn't get in to hold off for the reboot, mean while Sakurai told Bandai Pac-Man could only join smash if they used his classic 2d/3d designs and not the reboot and they didn't even try to argue about it =b
Smash has had 3 successful games by then and the fact that this series literally helped revive multiple game series also took into account how influential Sakurai is with his work. Earthbound, Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus wouldn't be known by most people without Smash or Sakurai.
@Just Squid I disagree on Earthbound. That game sold terribly in the west, to the point where it wasn't even released in Europe even though It did pretty well in Japan from what I can tell. It was considered a failure by Nintendo, hence why we in the west never got Mother 3 ported. If it wasn't for Ness in Smash Bros, a lot fewer people would actually know and/or care about that franchise.
It's almost like Smash had a proven record of success and Nintendo's able to hemorrhage money while being financially stable, isn't it?
@@SirBlackReeds Sony has a history of spending far more money on Games than Nintendo, so the money part wasn't really an issue. Not to mention if they didn't trust Sony they wouldn't have licensed out their characters in the first place. From the sounds of it this game was supposed to be an unrelated budget title and Sony didn't really see the value of having their own Smash Bros. Game at the time.
@@kylewood4488-b9r all the smash games are successful
This hurts to see.
I owned the game shortly after launch played the heck out of it. And always wondered where are some of the classics why did the gam rs came out without them. Had high Hope's for the dlc characters had Hope's for a sequel.
Sony killed it all...
It's just the nature of the business. It didn't sell nearly well enough to continue support of it.
Honestly, Title Fight is kind of witty and somehow less generic than the final title.
Eh, it would have made more sense if that Capture The Flag mode had survived. Also, "Battle Royale" is in reference to the book because the premise of the game follows the basic premise of the book.
Playstation’s Title Fight couldve been the full title as well.
I'm surprised he still hasn't dug into the beta of any of the Spyro games.
DerpDude99 Spyro betas are rare as hell, there's quite simply no non Demo Spyro 2 or 3 betas known to exist period. There IS two Spyro 1 betas in existence, but both have never been publicly released by the owners of the Beta Discs and probably never will.
Hwd405 has some cool stuff on that if your that interested.
@@MOVGAMES. While I'm not questioning that they are rare as all, there is one more spyro game with a prototype. That is: Spyro the dragon: Shadow Legacy, on the DS. It should be able to be found around. Heres a link to findings from TCRF:
tcrf.net/Proto:Spyro:_Shadow_Legacy
kuriatsu Yeah there's a couple betas for the later games (I think one of the Legend Of games has one floating around), I was specifically referencing the original PS1 trilogy. I wish it wasn't the case as an early build of Spyro 3 is probably my most wanted Beta to be found at this point, I'd love to be able to hear clean rips of the different beta mixes of the music you can hear in early videos, and see the cut tiger enemy on Bamboo Terrace in action.

Man, I always thought of this game as "the Sony Smash Bros" , the "Poor Man's Smash" . But after hearing that the developers actually put a lot of effort in this game, while Sony didn't care, it gives me a lot more appreciation for it. Hearing some of the ideas for it, it sounded really cool, and it could have been one of the few Smash clones to actually be good. If Sony had tried to make more negotiations with other IPs, and helped fund the game, this could have been awesome! Sadly, it couldn't have come to be... a sequel would've been cool, too.
Or did they? After all, even the devs themselves couldn't agree on what Sony's faults were.
18:52 Who is the main antagonist in Twisted Metal: Black?
Lower left corner "Jesus"

jésus probably
I'm kinda surprised there is no references to Smash Bros at all in the video... It's pretty sad what happened to the devs of the game, but nice video Andrew!
Thanks pal!
I was hoping for some Smash references as well.
My friend used to have this on his Vita and told me that brawl ripped off the special moves because one of them looked like Snake's
Laugh at him, hard
Still sad how snake was never in all stars, even though solid was a hit on PlayStation. Oh well, at least he is in smash
Lol compare Snake's moveset in Brawl to his moveset in DreamMix TV World Fighters
@@Ryno4Ever I forgot that game existed
@@mega-drive6462 Same until recently I tried it out with friends and I was like wow this is where nintendo got Snake's moveset from
This is actually the game I want the most from PlayStation. It wasn't as good as Smash Bros. A sequel likely wouldn't be either. Who cares? There are 100 open-world action games. They don't all need to be the best in the genre to justify thier existence. Why should PlayStation All-Stars 2 happen? Because there are a shit-ton of iconic Sony characters who will never bein Smash. And Smash isn't going to have the resources to put every deserving third-party character in their game either.
This game has the potential to be great. Sony just needs to treat it like a AAA release. They clearly didn't with the first one.
M J i loved this game. In fact because I loved smash bros brawl so much, I decided to buy it and i fell in love with it. I really hope the leak can be true so we can see this game get a second chance at life and see it become lovable
If a sequel is made for PSAS, I hope they keep all of the characters and stages from the first game. Maybe have their own forms of Echo fighters.
They might because they are releasing multiple fighter passes.
bloodborne hunter vs parappa
@Just Squid Not sure they would feel the need to top it, they'd probably just feel the simple need to give the game a sizable roster that's varied enough to incentivize playing different characters, I'm thinking at least 30-50 characters with enough 1st Party and sensible 3rd Party characters to balance things out.
21:41 Sly asserting his dominance over the game
Playstation Allstars Battle Royale is the PERFECT example of an "Over-Hated" game.
This was before Smash was effectively finished as a franchise (At least for the time being) and the world was a LITTLE MORE ACCEPTING of "Smash-likes". Before the game even dropped, I distinctly and specifically remember how much hate it accrued for simply TRYING to exist. You couldn't go to reveal or promotional trailers online without the comments being FILLED with livid comments from Smash fans denouncing it as a "Smash clone" and deriding it from the top down. But then the game came out, and it DIDN'T play a whole lot like Smash; it had built in combos and strings and actively encouraged somewhat of a facilitated "Competitive" element (I put this in quotes because in the dev's own words, they WANTED it to be competitive), didn't rely on Ring-Outs as a method for defeating the opponent, Items and stage gimmicks were a little more nuanced and utility centric and its control scheme was not as intuitive as you'd think it would be. None of that mattered though, people went INTO the game expecting it to play like Smash due to their criticisms of it being a "Smash clone" and were ultimately disappointed when it DIDN'T play enough like Smash. It was incredibly frustrating for someone who JUST wanted to playa Brawler with Playstation Characters and didn't CARE about any of that or that it was a B-Tier game.
But that wasn't enough, because in the background of this you had the other debates about its roster, people whining and moaning about Crash and Spyro not being present. Well, they TRIED. The devs were sweating in the background to get these IP's and people kept shutting the doors on them, and Sony was not backing them either. They were out in the wild with a game literally carrying the name "Playstation" in its title but NO ONE was willing to help them outside of the handful of IP's they did acquire. Had the game not been roasted from the start and been allowed to accumulate a fanbase, it could have potentially secured some of those IP's. It might have GOTTEN a sequel that would have allowed them to followup on their original ideas but with more support from Sony.
But none of that happened. The entire thing was a passion project that everyone collectively turned their back on then gawked at its failure.
And the people who actually ENJOYED the game or JUST wanted a Playstation Brawler were cucked. Right idea, wrong time.
I don't think PAS is coming back. It was too negatively controversial and people crapped on the poor thing too hard. Sony looks back at this thing with shame and supporting a sequel is just going to be seen as a huge financial risk. I've love for it to return, but I have no faith in that happening.
(Original comment made by @Impalingthorn on Tactical Bacon Productions: We Need A New PlayStation All-Stars Game video)
If they ever do a sequel, it'd be hilarious seeing characters like Crash and Spyro beating the crap out of Sweet tooth or Kratos
I'd had fun playing as Parappa for PlayStation All Stars years ago. Glad it wasn't in his "chunky" design of course some example from his mouth.
Really like this new style. Seeing you at your desk and the editing is just 👌
The gravity rush stage still makes me cry to this day.
My heart truly goes out to everyone at SuperBot that help make this game, especially after release when they were working on DLC and trying to make the game better. I was one of those folks who originally didn't like it much, even after playing it on both PS3 and PSvita (thanks to both of my brothers for letting me play it on both systems, by the way).
But over the years, it really grew on me so much so that after I decided to buy myself a PSvita Slim in 2019, this was one of the games that I wanted to get for it and to my surprise, I can see why this game still has a fanbase and why many others, myself included, would love to see a sequel someday.
This game, just like the PSvita itself (now thinking about it), didn't deserve the treatment that Sony gave it, which was pretty much "let's make something cool that has a lot of potential, but if it doesn't do well...like at all, let's not do anything to help the product sell well, just drop it, and completely move on from said product without thinking twice."
I'm hoping this game gets a true sequel someday because there's just a lot of potential sitting here and this is coming from a Nintendo fan that prefers Smash over PS All-Stars (although I'm a PlayStation fan, as well.)
Whats crazy is that the developers realy cared about the game!! They had a vision for the game, with characters and stages the fans would've loved, But alot of those companies wanted alot of money for the characters. Plus siny abandoned superbot, thie game had so much potential.and if they did it again, it would do so much better, since people have warmed up to platform fighters
I'm actually a big fan of PSASBR but the character roster always *looked* so small so I hope that they add more characters (even if they aren't fighting ready; they can invent ways to have them fight) for the sequel.

I was one of like 20-ish people that was really hype for this game when it was first announced. And once every few years I fall down this what if they got a do-over rabbit hole, finding new videos where people talk about this game. Anyway but I'm really surprised by the menu aesthetics in this beta version vs the final, even the start screen, when the game launched I remember just looking at the menus and feeling like it looks cheap, even though were using renders of the characters, somehow all those renders just felt off and ugly. The menu UI aesthetic just feels so vibrant and clean!!

The robot chicken ad was the best part of of the game. Also Toro was OP
My guess is that Sony was probably intimidated by the fact that this looks so much like smash bros and didn’t want to get into any trouble with the Nintendo Ninjas.
Yep
I guarantee it had nothing to do with Nintendo. Sony has a long history of imitating Nintendo and not putting in the full work for it.
Nintendo doesn’t own the genre, or any of the characters and stuff present in PSAll-Stars, so they can’t really do anything (nor there’s a reason to do anything really), Sony could’ve made another game if they wanted, they just chose not to do another or let the studio finish the DLC

This was one of my favorite games to play for the longest time and I even still pick up my vita from time to time to play it again. It really sucks the game was mishandled so badly by Sony because its truly a fun game despite its flaws and they easily could have turned it into an even better game through updates or a sequel. Here's hoping we'll get the latter soon enough.
It also sucks that Vita failed

The most recent game PaRappa has been in is PS All-Stars. I hope we get PaRappa 3 or Lammy 2.
We need a sequel
I’m an alternative universe, the psabr series is strong going on game 5 on the ps5, and the one shot Nintendo crossover game on the Wii named “super smash brothers” has faded into obscurity with a semi spin off about link collecting Dr Pepper
We could have gotten a Sony Smash Bros series which would have been amazing if it received the talent, time, and support that Nintendo gave to Smash Bros. The fact Playstation All Stars and its studio met such a sad fate is one of the biggest tragedies in gaming history.
A shame, Smash having a big rival would've been interesting.
I wouldn’t call it one of the biggest tragedies in gaming. Not even close. Sure it’s disappointing but at the end of the day, Sony doesn’t really have the same IP power that Nintendo has.
@@callinater6133 Its a B tier gaming tragedy then.
@@callinater6133 I mean all they really have is Mario and Pokemon with huge influence. Hell it kinda did honestly. Without it, I wouldve never discovered Gravity Rush, Sly Cooper, inFAMOUS, Heavenly Sword and Twisted Metal
@@hwanniggles187 there’s also Zelda. And Kirby. And Metroid. Nintendo’s character designs are also just generally more marketable and distinct than Sony’s. A big part of that is that a lot of Sony’s IPs have realistic graphics so it can be difficult to make the characters stand out from one another.

Then it came out and once we realized NOTHING MATTERS but who can hit with a super, and that it was really all about picking the characters with the most OP supers and just slurping up orbs, that the combat was meaningless, we all lost interest.
Well the combos did matter to an extent. If you landed a combo while having a super, then you could guarantee a kill. Aside from that though, I agree.
The main issue with this combat system is that it was too repetitive. It was always both players throwing projectiles and then doing the same combo over and over in order to build up AP, and then repeat to get a KO.
If they had just done it like other fighting games (or even Smash) it would have led to more variation in combat scenarios and matchups.
Dude, way to take advantage of an amazing opportunity! The video was very well presented and executed!
So... Every stage is a Buzz crossover?
@Ryan Stewart Way to reply to a forgotten year-old comment, you sure showed me.
@Ryan Stewart I'm pretty sure you're the only one between the two of us who actually cares, lol. Replying to old comments is kinda completely pointless considering the commenter usually barely even remembers what they were talking about.
@Ryan Stewart ...Yeah? Literally everyone checks the date of a comment. It's just common sense if you don't want to make yourself look like an idiot, i.e. what you're doing at this very moment. And no, I don't care, lol, it's just entertaining to hear you go on with this weird sense of moral superiority you seem to have. And you, yourself, seem to care a lot about this, going by your own logic.
Speaking of which, the fact that you have to constantly remind me (or yourself?) that you're an adult instead of actually showing it through your words is actually pretty telling of your own emotional maturity, lol.
@Another random furry Buzz is life.
Sony did not realize that the success of Smash was due to freedom, like wrestling games. You can choose to play with a bar, or play with a devastating finishing move, or play on the opponent’s exit.
How come when i randomly start looking up things about this game's cut content a week later this is uploaded?
There's a phenomenon that states that once you recognize something, then you'll see more of it because you recognize it. those events would still be happening of course, but you may or may not have recognized them. that may or may not play a part.
However, I've been working on my series on title fight(and consequently the footage beta64 used for title fight) for around 4 months. In that time, playstation all*stars stuff has appeared more frequently...so its definitely a strange coincidence.
Every time I heard your intro I would smile, because Earthbound is awesome. I’ll miss that feeling now :(

Every time I hear 2009 I’m always reminded me that on that year I got my first Nintendo DS with Super Mario 64 DS
And I get reminded of myself because... guess what?
2009 is the year that my little brother was born 💚
"Now before we start comparing aaall of this, there's one thing that is gonna be showing up every single time, and that's -the debug menu- " *BUZZ*
Man I *really* hope that rumor for a sequel comes true. A powerstone arena fighter sounds amazing.
A sony cross over game where it's a 3D Arena sounds cool. But a lot of people would prefer 2D smash bros style.
I’m sure if this game was developed more recently (around 2015-17) it would’ve probably gotten so much more support from Sony.
But sadly we are left with a game that I can describe as ‘Lost Potential’.
Who knows? Maybe Sony might try something like this again in the next 4-5 years.
Everyone who actually played the game can agree that it became super fun after the update that fixed literally everything.
Too bad it broke the Vita version in advance.
@Ryan Stewart I meant gameplay wise, but as for dlc characters, I thought Kat and Zues were really fun to play
justice was in title fight?
i’m mildy impressed, and also mildy confused
They use the song Genesis fps their first trailer.
It's here it's here it's finalily here!
Each year a sequel with a proper backing isn't announced, another piece of me dies inside.
i really love this game
Same here 🙂
As a MediEvil fan, Sir Dan's eye being in the wrong socket makes me extremely uncomfortable
It’s a shame to hear what happened to Superbot Entertainment and it’s sad that Dart, Abe & the Gravity Rush/Journey stage didn’t come to be and I was excited to see what Dart & Abe were gonna play like and to see the Gravity Rush stage in action but unfortunately no
If a Round 2 doesn’t happen then if Nintendo and Sony could work out their differences and put that aside maybe a Sony character could happen so then the big console 3 are all represented in one game and I think Sly Cooper would be the perfect Sony rep
I was waiting for this so long and you finally did it I love this channel also I love your LittleBigPlanet Beta64
The Legend has Returned!!
This game had such inopportune timing for its development. If only they waited a few more years and had it as a launch title for ps4.
It's really sad that All-Stars ended up the way it is, i really liked the idea and seeing those early builds... basically SuperBot wanted this game to look unique. Now, if Sony announces something related to this game or a PlayStation crossover, i will be really hyped.
PS: Give this comment a like or Buzz will come to your house.
Great video man! What an awesome rebound from the harsh criticism from the last one. Awesome work.
Would it make everyone feel better if I said theres rumors about a Playstation All-Stars 2 in development? I dont believe they're true but I do hope they are at least.
It does make me feel better
