The size of the Milky Way is so hard to comprehend. I enjoy watching the sunset most evenings. I know I’m on a giant rock that is rotating and I’m slowly rotating backwards as the sun goes out of view. When the stars begin to appear, it just seems so hard to understand that each star is essentially just like the sun that I watched moments ago setting on the horizon. They are so far away! Incredible stuff.
And to think that our Milky Way galaxy, immense as it appears to be in our eyes, is nothing more than a mere speck itself in that vast, almost unlimited ocean of galaxies. Some things are just too difficult for the human mind to conceptualise, and this is one of them.

@@BarryBollox. I tend to think that while life in the universe is probably plentiful, INTELLIGENCE (that is, technological intelligence & other civilizations) is exceedingly rare. Just look at our own world's evolutionary history: out of the billions of species that have arisen on earth over the last 3.5 billion years, only ONE of those has produced a civilization-building species. Just ONE, out of BILLIONS! And our species' journey on that path required a great number of events to happen 'just right' for our abilities to outpace simple animals. Its the very definition of an "extremely low probability event"!!! Intelligence on our level to create technology & build civilization is clearly not a requisite for survival. So, I think that the frequency of this occuring on a universal scale is extremely low. And add to that: we really just started having sufficient technology to merit being called a "technologically advanced species" VERY recently (only a tiny fraction of the 300,000 years of our species' total existence and of the 3.5 BILLION years of life on this planet). Humans didn't even invent "civilization" until 5000 years ago, so civilization is still a pretty recent concept for us. Hell, humans didn't even invent FARMING until 8,000 years ago (and we were around for 290,000 years before that). Again... that's all out of 3.5 billion years of life in the planet! That's only a blink of an eye! The probability of any "alien civilization" occuring at the same time as our own civilization's brief infancy is infinitesimally tiny! (Even assuming there are any out there, which as I said above is pretty damned unlikely) So while the probability of life in our universe is probably high, the probability of other intelligent space-faring civilizations is probably science fiction. And nothing more than that.

There also has to be lots of more simple evolutions before intelligence evolves, as intelligence is more complex, so of course intelligence is going to evolve later and not have evolved as frequent.

This video is truly beautiful. It really helped me to visualize what it must be like going through a galaxy and it's billions stars, particularly when the concentration of stars is only light weeks between them, and not light years as it's our case with our closest stars. It was astonishing! Very, very well done.
unfortunately, it would not at all appear as it seems in this video. in order for light to be dispersed as it is from our view on planet earth, there must be an atmosphere to do so. in space, it is void of these things, and stars are much much much further apart than this video makes it appear, so you would not see this pretty hyperlightspeed affect here. Even the stars only lightweeks apart would likely be dimly lit, if theyre seen at all
Outstanding!! I must admit that this one way journey was quite fascinating and nerve racking indeed! I started to become excited, and the adrenaline kicked into gear as you accelerated onwards to the center, zipping by stars with that unimaginable speed....then as we approached the center and you kept reminding us that this was a one way trip, I suddenly got into a panic,wanting to yell out to 'slow down man,turn back now'! It really hit me hard with this one way trip scenario, of not ever getting to go back to Earth and not seeing all my family and friends ever again, (even with such a soothing voice as yours narrating this most epic of journeys)...then climaxing it all with simply entering into black nothingness!! Whew!! Simply amazing and fantastic stuff for sure! Makes me appreciate just how good it is to be on good old Earth here,even with all of it's natural disasters to cater for,( but bearing in mind that our worst disasters are all man-made)! I knew a planet formed around stars but when you actually see all those stars and think every single one of them has at least one planet it’s mine boggling to think that there could not be any life on either one of them. Think about all the other galaxies to not just ours. Then you just think how insane it is how big space really is to hold billions of galaxies inside of it. It’s just crazy I get a headache thinking about it but I love thinking about it lol

Could you make a similar journey video, passing by the planets, and a bunch of the big-name stars, ofc starting with Alpha Centauri, Sirius, Polaris, Antares, and my favorite: BETELGEUSE! I truly hope to see a supernova in this lifetime, and Betelgeuse is, from what I hear, the most likely visible star to go next….

I knew a planet formed around stars but when you actually see all those stars and think every single one of them has at least one planet it’s mine boggling to think that there could not be any life on either one of them. Think about all the other galaxies to not just ours. Then you just think how insane it is how big space really is to hold billions of galaxies inside of it. It’s just crazy I get a headache thinking about it but I love thinking about it lol
