Fermin Martinez I have have seen many Freightliner with the DD15 without the fuel water separator. I don’t think it is worth installing unless you have a specific reason. But for the most part you should be ok without it.
In 2500 miles my newly installed diesel water separator filter filled up to the max level? What could be the issue? Contaminated diesel? Or any sensor malfunction?
Could be a bad filter, could be something in the fuel. I would drain it (down to the collar) using the valve just underneath the separator. Then run the truck and see what happens. Is the truck running any different?
If your talking about the fuel filter, once you installed the new filter. You add diesel in the bowl through the small cap. Maybe about half way, then stew the cap back in and you are ready to go. Let me know if this works for you.
@@CarlosDieselElectric thx.... my truck is not accelerating well on hills, could it be the filter is clogged? That's why I want to change it out. I have a freightliner m2 106
Unknown KansasBoy you can use a block of wood and a hammer. Then hit the collar in the direction you want. This works a few times but after awhile the collar gets damaged.
@@CarlosDieselElectric Thanks for sharing! Although would have been nice to see this part # in the description. So the question wouldn’t be hard to find in the comments.
The correct time to replace the fuel filter is when the fuel level reaches the black mark on the fuel filter. Although if it is replaced sooner that is fine too.
482017DAV Metal DAVCO Metal Collar Wrench for Fuel Pro 482, 483, 485, 487, 488 You can get it from Snap On or from Davco directly. Also, your local Freightliner dealership should have it.
Not supposed to, at the bottom of the bowl you will find the debris and the last thing you want is to put that back in and possibly risking fuel contamination. But I know guys that will still add the same fuel
Exelente video, muy bien explicado y sin tantos rollos
Nice video. About to change mine now
What causes the fuel water separator to fill to the top with diesel, not water in a few days after installation?
Damn son ... that diesel looks nice and pink!
waoooooooo đẹp wá anh carlos'diesel electric ơi.

Video was ok. But skipped too many steps
Thx sir
I added diesel to the line you said, is it supposed to drain a little?
It will drop a bit once you run it. Sometimes it will drop to the collar.
So when I replace with new filter how do you add small amount of diesel inside
Yes, I usually add enough so that is just above the collar.
How do you add diesel to it before starting the engine?

Don't buy a cheap filter wrench lol
There are definitely better options
