You don't HAVE to use the power cube function. But, if anyone, for any reason wants or needs it, it's there. I won't be using it either, but hey, I won't be sad it's there. I can just mount a battery on that rail, or a gopro for BTS. Sorted
Good video. Looking to buy this light. I think they could easily make a spacer accessory that could go between the lights that could then allow room for each to have a reflector on them. Or another idea if using just two together, they could make an adaptor that fits across two lights that has mirrors to concentrate both light outputs down to a single output with a bowens mount.
@gamedesign1, Colbor *does* make a spacer accessory that goes between the lights and allows reflector use; it's called "COLBOR 3.58" NATO Extension Bar and Quick Release Mount Adapter Kit"
Colbor makes a "Colbor NQD1 NATO extension bar & rail mount adapter" (Colbor's name for it)/"Colbor 3.58" NATO Extension Bar and Quick Release Mount Adapter Kit" (B&H's name for it), that lets you combine the lights with enough space to leave the reflectors on (available at B&H).
i tell. you what i love the bi light 60l, and the way these light are made is the best selling point too ...and i was thinking about getting one more this one ,makes it even more hotter im a tech john.
Excellent review! Your photography and humor is great, too. I am in need of a budget light with certain specs, and this Colbor is showing up everywhere. I'll probably go with another brand, though, because NPF battery power is a must.
Just got mine today. Shooting some product photography and I am finding the light is a little green. All lights off except for the CL60R. Camera set to 5600K- Shooting in raw. Tried different light outputs. I shot a Xrite Color Checker Passport and brought the images in capture 1. I need to adjust the tint from -1.4 to +1.7 to get a balanced gray. So I am wondering if I have a defective unit?
@@ChristopherMichaelLaw My mistake!!! I have the CL60M and not the CL60R🤣.Clearly you reviewed the CL60R. Thanks for the reply and review:) I am going to send back the unit and get the CL60R.
Thank you for doing this test. None of the reviewers have bothered to test the colour which is insane to me. Let us know if your new unit is also tinted green. A small tint is fine, but +1.7 is a lot.
I am considering this light as a key light for one subject in a youtube studio to be used with a 90cm softbox. Together with fast primes there shouldnt be a brightness problem?
I wouldn't think you'd have a problem. Depends how big your studio is and how far away you put the light. At about a 1.5 metre away, with a big softbox on, I was using it at about 30% brightness, if that helps.
Thanks for this review, It's the first time I've seen one of your reviews and it was really helpful and informative. I have to say though that the choice of USB C for the power input beggars belief, and for me at least, that alone is a total deal breaker. At first glance it looks like a nice light, but thanks for taking the time to flag up it's shortcomings.
@calebfortune, nato mount, yeah; but it's too thick top-to-bottom, for a cold shoe adapter, just tried it (with a Photek light stand-to-cold shoe swiveling adapter that fits my Godox AD200 extension heads, and Godox V1 & V860 II flashes, and Nikon SB910 flashes). Edit - interesting - the flash's hot shoe *will* fit the nato receiver, with room to spare top-to-bottom (on a Colbor CL100X); just can't use a female cold shoe mount on the Colbor male nato rail (at least not *this* one; don't know if this is universal).
You really do having an amazing voice that could be used for voice over and documentaries. I guess he was being truthful and not sarcastic. Like the BBC David Attenborough.
Nice job, you are the first channel to point out all these problems. Thanks.
Thanks man, I appreciate that!
Markus Pix has a solution for mounting/attachements options for this light.
Cool, I'll take a look at it.
Extremely honest and insightful review. No BS, no useless & unrelated personal shows, just simply great explanations from actual usage point of view.
I'm glad you found it useful, thanks!
4:04 Disco/Music/Reactive mode! OMG, I didn't know the RGB version had this! I'm totally using it. Love it!
Love this video too🥰Thank you Christopher.
You are so welcome

@@raynaudier8622 thanks for the heads up 👍😊
@@raynaudier8622 I’m pretty sure this accessory didn’t exist when I posted my comment. So probably took my idea 😉haha
the mount is standard Nato rail. There are tons of solutions, if you ever really loose it.
Amazing filming. I feel great satisfaction. Thx you!
Markus Pix reviewed the CL60 U including all the attachments.
You are really good at this.
Cheers my friend 👍
Funny. I just posted my review yesterday. Will watch yours later tonight. Looking forward to hear your thoughts about this light
I hope you enjoy it when you do watch it. I'll check yours out for sure.
@@ChristopherMichaelLaw I like it a lot. You covered a few things that I didn't. So it was definitely a great watch. Thanks
Very good video on the video light and I can understand the problems

Yes they are well made lights, with a nice build quality.
Hi. How to enable the sound sensitive light system. Is it through the apps under effects? 😅

it does have an NPF adapter option

Well, a defective unit could be a possibility for sure. Have you tried adjusting the green/magenta shift on the light to correct it?

Did you experience any over heating or sudden shot down of light and can u use the light with Sony np batteries
According to their website you can get an adapter to attach Sony style batteries. I’ve not had a problem with it shutting down unexpectedly.
Use a small rig v mount.... works great

Glad it was helpful! The usb is a strange one. I think they are aiming it at new/young content creator where this might be less of a problem.

Sweet baby Jesus, you have an amazing voice!

haha, I have no idea if you're being sarcastic or not because I spend most of my time editing the videos cringing at the sound of my own voice.
