Lindholf was one of my favourite characters from his first appearance- so glad when he got his own POV.

At first I wasnt excited to see him as a POV but he quickly grew on me.

Pretty awesome review man I'm about 250 pages into the blackest heart so far so good man I love this dark world where everything is gray and where nobody can be trusted he is definitely turning some of the tropes upside down

Still interested to see where you come out on the end of the series! This one is where I really started to see the cracks in the story versus where it ended! dont want to put my opinion out there too much as not to poison the well. Looking forward to your review of the lonesome crown!

This is one of the best epic fantasy novels I've ever read, I want to know why it's such a disappointment to you?

I love the five warrior angels, to me it is like Memory, Sorrow and Thorn on steroids! I am waiting for the audiobook version of the Lonesome Crown which is coming out in May.
After you finish the series, can you do a full spoiler top ten moments!! My favorite scene in this book is under the glacial river!
The last battle is the author’s homage to The Winter King again on steroids!

Nice review, I share a lot of your thoughts. Totally devouring this series, a third in to Lonesome Crown and I don't want it to end. Felt I should give a newer series a chance after a long break from reading and this was the perfect series to get me back in after a comfort read of the Belgariad.
Happy to hear others getting the same pronunciations for the characters and lands, bar one. It has to be Lay-ff not Leaf (Leif), as much as my Scandinavian ears bled it gave me a chuckle though. As did the character Sis't Runk which in Swedish translates to Last Wank to give some pointless trivia. ☺️ You earnt yourself a subscribe also.. Great stuff

Thanks John! I have 80 pages left of Lonesome crown. It’s so good!
This series pulled me out of my Malazan slump

@@TreeBeardBookReviews Dunno if I dare start Malazan yet. Gonna get through Memory, Sorrow and Thorn first but am tempted as so many say so good things about the series. Anyhow, am enjoying your videos, we seem to have similar tastes and you might just make my TBR a nightmare. 😉

@@snikich I plan to read Memory Sorrow and Thorn this year as well. I finished Lonesome Crown the other day. I don’t think he stuck the landing personally. I did enjoy the series. How much do you have left

    • @snikich
      @snikich Рік тому +1

@@TreeBeardBookReviews About 380 pages left for me, hopefully done midweek or so. The Forgetting Moon is probably my favourite as it is, I tend to like first impressions, and that book blindsided me with the ultra violence. I guess you are a bit numb to it all the further in you get.
I'm just over 100 pages in to Memory Sorrow and Thorn, started it so I don't struggle with loss after finishing FWA. Finding it beautiful but a bit slow and hard to follow but from what I hear the payoff comes later and by that time my dyslexic ass might be used to the writing style. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the series, I see a lot of mixed opinions on it so. Enjoy your trip into the 31st millennium also, saw you are dipping your toes into the Horus Heresy 😉

@@snikich Yeah the violence leaves you a bit numb after awhile. I think anything darker than FWA might not be for me. I think Blackest Heart may have been my favourite. I enjoyed the break neck pace of that book. Lonesome Crown is bottom of the pack.
MST sounds so intriguing. Glad to hear the writing is beautifully done. I think I'll be starting that in the 2nd half of the year.
Loving Horus Rising so far. I didn't know what to expect and its really impressing me. Just a lot of fun.

Great review! I'm SO excited for you to read Lonesome Crown. I think Blackest Heart is a an 11/10 Lonesome is seriously a 15/10. By far my favorite fantasy book ever. I'm not exaggerating: you think Blackest Heart was INSANE, you have not seen anything yet! And that's a good thing :)

This book has one of the most unique battle scenes I've read--the river battle.
Also, my theory is Bear Mug is the Bella of this trilogy. Creator in disguise. Lol

SPOILERISH........Ugh the end of this book!!!!! So EPIC!!!! I think Durfee looked at that battle and said to himself "Well, I have some WOT in there, I have some ASOFAI in there, How can I sprinkle some Discovery Channel in there???? I did feel like this book did slog a little in the middle....just my opinion but it was sooooo good.
