I’ve always been a fan of Tentec but am considering the 818 as Dayton Hamvention starts to day and I live about 45 minutes away. Hope to see you there. 73 de KC8VJD
Thank you some Much for the video my plan is in the next 2 weeks to have the FT - 818 in my hands my apartment building is a converted school which was Built-in 19 0 1 and because of that unfortunately I can't have an HF rig so I decided to go again with the FP - 818 thanks again 73s kb7azz
Nice radio, but there is not so much diffrence between the 818 and the FT-817. only 1 w more, but both this radios are great radios! I love them. I have an Yuasu ft-817 as a qrp radio and it is great! Thank's for the video and good Luck! The best from LB1NH Arild in Oslo Norway!
No doubt this is a good radio. But why would you pay for a strictly QRP radio when you could buy a FT-857 ehich is almost the same size and you can have QRP plus a full 100 W. for almost the same price. I mean that would make sense if you were going to do QRP, but most people who do QRP also work higher power.

Arild Andersen - agree. If I owned an FT-817, I certainly would not replace it for the FT-818. 73s.
Cant find an 817 in the US under $600-$700 used, and a new 818 is $599......
