Thank you Kris! The Stanton is a great pattern - you should definitely try it. I’m excited about the trench coat, but a little nervous. There are a lot of pieces and many, many details! 😀
Oh Izzy that Stanton Hoody is fantastic, what an amazing job you did and I can really tell you love it too 🥰. You really are challenging yourself at the moment and achieving everything so well. You are so right to start planning the Xmas gifts now, I need to copy that as I have planned to make a few things and time will run out on us won’t it😂. Enjoy your weekend with your daughter and the apples, mmmmm I can smell the pies from here 😊🍎🍏🍎🍏🥧
Thank you Carole! I keep changing my mind about what I’m making for presents and really just need to decide and get started. I can’t wait for apple 🥧 LOL 😀
The extra room on the trench is probably a good idea as it will give you room for sweaters etc. underneath. You previously made a hoodie with a curved bottom, I forget the name of it. I do have another question. Would it be possible for you to show the layout of your baby quilt? I have looked at mine for hours and can’t decide on a layout,
Yes, that’s exactly what I’m thinking! The hoodie I have made numerous times now is the Hug Hoodie by MadeIt Patterns. I love that hoodie but the size range isn’t great and there is no shaping for the bust at all. I find the Stanton fits my bust much, much better. For my quilt layout, if you go to the end of the Part 2 video, I added a photo of my finished quilt top. Don’t overthink it - just throw your block randomly and it’ll look fine! 😀
I'm glad to hear you love the Stanton Hoodie so much! It came out really cute. 🧵 I'm looking forward to seeing your trench coat journey. 🧵The apple orchard sounds really nice - enjoy your weekend Izzy!
Hi Cynthia! Yes, putting a zip in a knit garment isn’t easy LOL I think I’m going to save myself some frustration next time and put a strip of interfacing under the zipper tape so the zipper and fabric don’t get fed unevenly. But I’ve been enjoying tackling more difficult things lately! 😀
Thank you Tina. To make it easier on myself next time, I’m going to use some kind of stabiliser under the zipper. I had to unpick so many times because my zipper foot wasn’t feeding both layers evenly. I could have saved myself some frustration by simply putting a strip of interfacing under the zipper (I think!). 😀
When I am sewing in zips on stretchy fabric, I use a or of double sides sticky tape for sewing..wash away wonder tape or a knock off brand. Haven’t had to rip it out yet…and I sew parts of the seams that need to match and check before I finish the whole thing…it turned out fab!
That is such an amazing tip about basting the seam where it needs to match first and I’m going to look into this doublesided tape you mentioned. Thank you so much!! 😀
There are several suppliers, like Dritz. I usually order the store brand from Wawak (US name, I think this is Cleaners Supply in your neck of the woods).
PS I have a large piece of red plaid and was thinking of making a maI skirt skirt liar to a kilt for Christmas. I don’t have a UA-cam channel but wish I could promote yours. You have a very good channel.
That Stanton is beautiful!!! That pattern is definitely on my radar!!! I can't wait to see your journey with the trench coat!!!

I agree with the unpicking on something like a jacket! It looks amazing! I totally love the color blocking!😍
Have fun with you're daughter ❤
Thank you! 😊

Thank you Michelle! I hope you have a fabulous weekend! 💜
Love that hoodie.
Thank you Donna! 😀
Wow. Your Stanton Hoodie is gorgeous. Although I have sewn zippers in woven makes, I have never installed one in a knit. So scary.

Love the hoodie, not sure if I’m brave enough to attempt a zipper. Enjoy your weekend x

@@dizzyquiltsandsews Was it the hoodie fabric that was stretching?
@@tinajenkins6342 Yes!
