Dont give up bro, the supervision hours are a lot, but finding the right company to work and get the experience is key. I taught in the classroom for 9 years and the last year I've been acquiring my BCBA hours. I'm half way done and looking for Bcba positions in schools soon. Good luck bro!

Hi Bazin. Have you received your master's degree? If you are in a BCBA program, then their may be ways that you can pick up some hours. Your supervisor would be able to guide your through what work-related tasks may work for your BCBA hours.
Currently doing my masters in social work. It is my first semester. But starting to feel ABA is more fit for me. I am an RBT and I love it. I am unsure of what to do. I am scared to drop out. Also from what I read on the BCBA website I am not sure they would honor a social work degree so I amy not even be able to use it for BCBA req
After 2022, the field of your master’s degree will not be restricted to Behavior Analysis, Education, or Psychology. Recheck the BACB website for BCBA eligibility requirements when applying AFTER 2022.

Also, I think that if you complete your social work degree you'll have some really good knowledge and you'll be able to get your social worker license and become a BCBA later if you still want to. It just all depends on where you work, but I definitely think some organizations will take your masters into consideration, especially in terms of negotiating your salary.

They may work throughout the school year in a school psychologist role and if they also have their BCBA, they may take some weekend or summer work as a BCBA. Im getting my BA for speech pathology but was reconsidering becoming a speech language pathologist when I learned about this field. I’m still learning about the requirements but I’m looking into different master programs in each field. I’m considering if I should become a slpa or an RBT while pursuing my MA. But I really want to become fully licensed eventually. For the field work hours, in 2022 it’s 1,500 hrs no more than 150 a month is that right?

I think that speech language pathology is such a good field and gives you an opportunity to work in a number of different environments. So if you choose to go that route, you'd be in a good field too. I know that the BACB is broadening the education requirements as well so if you decide to get a graduate degree in SLP and still want to be a BCBA, your degree may qualify for the educational requirements and you may only need to do a certificate program in a verified course sequence. I would check with BACB first though. Also, you can get up to 130 hours per month and as few as 20 hours. Hey! You can double check with the board but in 2022 the new requirements state that you can sit for the exam with ANY masters, you just need to completed a ABAI verified course sequence which you can do at many universities including Florida tech for about 6-8k. The hardest part will be collecting the 2000 supervised hours but you can start now as an RBT and you’ll probably fulfill the hours by 2022 anyway

@@Shaikh_saba85 Thats great Saba and much fortune in your studies. As long as you are able to get your hours you'll just need to submit your coursework and hour log in order to sit for the exam. One or some of your professors may have some resources for supervision and how you could get your hours. Here is also more information on the specific BCBA requirements including supervision. There are many things that you could do to gain indirect hours but I do know due to covid it is tough to get the direct hours.
