  • What is considered rude in Vietnam?
    Have you ever thought about how many misunderstandings you've had with Vietnamese people just because the culture is different?
    In this video, I cover some cultural differences that Westerners have with Vietnamese people on what they consider rude. Westerners may think something is rude, but in turn, it's fine. And Westerners may consider some things that are good, but are in actuality very rude to Vietnamese people.

      @@NhieuLife how to deal with daily conversation, how to introduce yourself, etc. Many vietnamese tutorial videos are not possible to understand for beginner. They speak too fast to understand.
      Edit: Can you also make videos about dating with vietnamese girls. Currently I have many problems with dating with mine. What she says may not be what she wants and it's really confusing for me. I believe many other guys out there have sama problem. Or mine is really so special.

    • @NhieuLife
      @NhieuLife  2 роки тому

      @@eyupcomez lol, hey, I'm not confident enough with my Vietnamese to teach it. But I'll definitely try to make videos about mine and my friends experience with Vietnamese culture. As for the dating, I'll gather a group of my cousin and her friends (Vietnamese girls) and I'll ask them some questions. Let me know what your questions are and I'll try to ask some of them to them. You can either comment your questions here or you can DM me on IG @nhieulife. 😊🤙

      I have family members that chew loudly and I've never heard them say anything. To be honest, I didn't notice them chewing loudly until my girlfriend at the time pointed it out to me. She was English. So it was a bit of a shock for her. 😂

    Nice vid, although nothing too controversial here! The karaoke thing comes up all the time, along with the loa phường and loà kẹo kéo of big shops like Thế Giới Di Động. The key for Westerners is to realise that Vietnamese people are not all alike---some, the noise apparently genuinely doesn't bother, while some (like you!) hate it. I took the time to search through the annals of various newspapers and I see that noise complaints do come up all the time. Lots of state media publish interviews with people whose lives have been made awful by excessive noise. Noise pollution laws have of course been passed. But in the end, it all comes up against the same problem as most things in Vietnamese society---if you have money or local power, no-one is ever going to force you to turn your noise down.

      I think you bring up a good point. In a short video like this, it's a bit difficult to cover the nuances. While I'm trying to make this videos informative, I am also trying to make them entertaining at the same time. It is important to not generalize and realize that there are always exceptions. Not every person in one country is the same. Thanks for watching and thank you for your comment. ✊
