Thank you for talking to me and telling so much history of British scene at the 1973 NAMM Show in Chicago. -You looked much older then.?? I was just a 18 year old kid running a big discount Music Store fore Musicians in Denver Co. I knew. Earl Matzkin from Musonic in Suburban Chicago who introduced us..There was a whole giant British products display featured with giant Union Jacks. I ordered the whole Colorsound revolving display with a lot of great pedals. Old friend Terry Cheers.
I don't exactly own a real deal Colorsound Overdriver, but I own a clone of it with the Master Volume. Ran it through my '79 Fender Super Reverb (sold that a few years ago) & it sounded incredible & LOUD!!!! Great times.
Awesome videos! Love the tones! Keep em coming! Can't wait to pick up the 9volt overdriver! It must sound killer Stacking it with a treblebooster! Tone heaven!!!!!!!! Thanks again my friend! Happy Christmas 🎄 to all !!!
Funny A pedal made famous by Gilmour and Jeff Beck... You play an sg🤔 and end up playing Brian May Hammer to Fall! I have your 90s version of this ( with master volume) It's awesome with a strat
Noel Gallagher has used this pedal boosting a tone bender in the intro of Stand By me, he used this two pedals a lot in Be Here Now album. In the world tour that year, he used a fuzz-wah that it's probably a wow fuzz, but i can't be sure the exact model.
Please bring back POTD. There's been so many great C/S & Sola units in 2021, but no demos since the Boss T/B. I'm begging you Ant, please give these pedals a public thrashing and end 2021 in style.
Both powerboost and overdriver are killer. I like the true vintage (recent) reissues of Stu a bit better. I've tried a lot of overdrivers and power boosts, and sometimes the sound is weird or detoriarated(old transistors?). Worn out transistors can give you an inconsistent sound.
Because it was based of the "Coloursound Powerboost" which was really intended as a volume (gain) boost to coax some overdrive from the amp itself, so it's kinda like an "MXR Micro Amp" (You wouldn't need a volume knob, just a gain knob and maybe some control over the treble and bass response). Although I believe the pedal produces some very nices tones by itself when used with a master volume :)
That overdriven beautiful. Thank you!

So good. Thanks for the info! Where did you have the treble and bass at from about 4:30 on?
sorry my memory's not that good ! :)
The markings are worn off
Idk whats in the water at macaris but they had/have magic in their pedals no one else seems to have.
There is also a huge mid range HONK to that box very reminiscent of Mick Ronson ...
What amp and speaker combination is this pedal going into? I actually own one of the vintage 70’s units.

Superbe, est-ce que la pedal est à vendre ?
nous avons vendu le dernier aujourd'hui mais il y en aura plus bientôt
treb and ass hahahah nice
Why was the overdriver built without a volume knob and so unbelievably loud?!?
I never understood that...I used to have to use a volume pedal after it when I had one.
