You think he hasn’t opened that door a thousand times to make sure it would never touch it? They are all the perfect distance apart to not have any issues like that. You would do the same if you had that garage.
Many older cars didn't have passenger side external mirrors, and when you do see them, they're often offset like this for the same reason. Body panels and a-pillars met up differently than they do today.
Someone on the GT group should explain that to the engineers who designed the Bronco. I just saw a video and the RH mirror was partially blocked by the A-Pillar.
When the Brits designed his Ford GT, they laser-scanned the insides of several supercars / sportscars to find a cabin small enough with a good seating position. And they settled on the Lotus Exige cabin. So the seating position and inside proportions of the Ford GT, should be extremely similar to Shemees Lotus.
Oh no... I get why they did this for the mirrors But I know this HAS to trigger people's OCD, because now we know that the mirrors aren't aligned with the other.
It's like that because it actually reduces the blind spot for the driver. At least the mirrors themselves are the same size and shape. Not like the Mercedes 190e mirrors (which give you great rearward visibility, but look wonky once you notice them being completely different sizes) on this GT it's barely noticeable just having one be 2" further back...
Whew! Thanks for explaining this! I would have been peeved had I spent $500K I don’t have on this car not to have the car be symmetrical. You just saved me half a mill. 😉
That’s not even an uncommon feature on most supercars because of their visibility. Take a look at the lengths of the mirrors on a Corvette C8. It’s an even bigger difference than this. They look to be in the same place but the passenger mirror is much longer than the driver side.
Orrrrrr…..just fix it to be even lol. Anyway when that beautiful senna was about a few inches from being scratched, I almost had a heart attack. BE CAREFUL JEEZ 😂
C8 corvette has a similar thing. The arm holding the passenger side mirror is noticeably longer than the one holding the driver's side mirror for the same reason.
Not to mention when it was time for it to get its engine the plans of it getting a V12 were scrapped. Ford took the cheap way out by putting the F150 EcoBoost truck engine in it. Legend has it the CEO was already super pissed over the cost and when the engine plans were presented he walked out of the meeting onto the production floor where they were making F150s. He stopped at the engines section and looked at the EcoBoost. Then looked back at everyone else and said " why won't this work "? And there you have it. The first 6 cylinder GT40. Another failure by Ford. Imagine if they were making Fusions that day. The car would have gotten a 4 cylinder.
I was like 'ecoboost v6? Yea right m80, pull the other leg too ya twat' but one quick Google search had me very upset that'd Ford did everyone dirty like that.
This is an unusual detail that I have noticed since the time you have collected it and during your first few vids with your Ford GT. But I guess it’s only designed that way for most supercars.
So glad Ford is willing to make something that's likely not profitable but iconic as a large manufacturer its smart to make something that is iconic for the brand.
Reminds me of the rear view mirror on a Ferrari F50. It was a really strange shape. Presumably to get the most out of the limited view out of the back?
This is very common. Mirrors don’t need to be on a level and really they shouldn’t be. It’s about the distance and angle to the drivers seat. Nothing about that involves them sitting in the same place on either side
There's no reason they couldn't make it match the other side and still be the best function for the driver. Being it's a Ford I'm not surprised it's like this.
Yeah no, that senna being that close should be a crime
Did I make you nervous there?

"The Senna is very close" is a sentence that very few people on this planet have ever uttered
Many older cars didn't have passenger side external mirrors, and when you do see them, they're often offset like this for the same reason. Body panels and a-pillars met up differently than they do today.
Nah wait hold on lemme check mine. 👀👀👀
In Forza 😭😭
Tell me if its accurate. I will check in GT7
Never noticed that before and I've spent hours going over every inch of 2 Ford GTs since their launch.
The shmuseum curator would’ve been livid if Shmee hesitated to open that door! Well done sir I winced in fear! 😂
Many cars have a similar quirk, the Jaguar XJ220 comes to mind.
My Elise has an offset rear view mirror- it’s odd till you get used to it
LOL!!!
Made me think of Raul Julia (RIP), in "The Gumball Rally".
"Whatza behind me, issa not important!"
Best race car driver quote ever!!!
that clio rs in the back😍
That is top 5 NICEST supercar EVER built. Kudos to Ford Motor.
Door of the red ford: ima scratch up my competition.
Someone on the GT group should explain that to the engineers who designed the Bronco. I just saw a video and the RH mirror was partially blocked by the A-Pillar.
The r390 had this type of thing as well
Osu! Now that's a car I'd love to get my hands on
I am was like woahhh when he whipped the door open lmao 🤣
I’ll never look a Ford gts the same! Lol 😂😅❤
Look at a fiesta, you'll never look at those the same again now too, one is lower than the other
I don't care about the mirrors, those headlights are just beautiful
Just checked my diecast version and now i know it's wrong
Lmao
The ford gt is just the most beautiful thing ever.

I actually knew that, but the new GT is my all time favourite car, there is so many fun details about it
That team of engineers obviously had no input on the Bronco’s mirrors.
That " WHAT" is probably a direct quote from the CEO when the designer told them they couldn't see the passenger mirror 😂
This man really won life lottery... Imagine having this garage
Man I go out to my Ford GT daily and never seen this!!
*whole life flashes before my eyes*
-“That probably just made you wince”
That's pretty cool to kno. I never knew that
Wow now I definitely cannot UNSEE that spectacular detail. Thanks for the vid man!
Nah bro that's like 5-6 inches. I KNOW WHAT I HAVE😭
Underrated ag 🤣
That’s that American engineering for ya 🇺🇸
They're also like that in the xj220, but ones on the door, and the other is on the wing/fender
Oh no... I get why they did this for the mirrors
But I know this HAS to trigger people's OCD, because now we know that the mirrors aren't aligned with the other.
Wow. I wish there was a car channel dedicated to showing the quirks and features of cars like thiiiiiiiiis!
My 1978 Porsche 911 had the same thing... offset right side mirror, that was angled in slightly.
Something I hadn't noticed until later.
Not only is the newer version of the Ford GT one of the most stunning looking cars, that red paint is just lush.
I have another one. It'll blow your mind and I only noticed it recently since I bougth the car myself. Golf mk4 mirrors are of different size.
My 2015 Audi Q7, the grab handle on the driver's door is totally different than the other three. All about the buttons and switches
This car is just perfect..every time I see a Ford gt..it reminds me of how perfect I've always thought it was 😮
It's like that because it actually reduces the blind spot for the driver. At least the mirrors themselves are the same size and shape. Thats also on a USDM 2008-11 focus .one mirror is more angled.
That is actually cool tidbits. Plus it also have actual functional reason not quirky "just because".
The passenger side mirror on the C8 Corvette is slightly longer than the driver's side. Lmao
All people with perfect fitment anxiety will go crazy about the mirrors but then relieved when that door fits on 2mm from that Senna!
You might laugh but I just got the 1/64 model of your Ford GT and I was like, "Man, it sucks how the sidemirrors are unaligned"
When you opened up that door I shut my eyes
That’s not even an uncommon feature on most supercars because of their visibility. Take a look at the lengths of the mirrors on a Corvette C8. It’s an even bigger difference than this. They look to be in the same place but the passenger mirror is much longer than the driver side.
Having the phone charging cable sitting there like it's his daily driver is such a low key unintentional flex it's ridiculous...
Shmee was most excited for all the moonswatch colors 😂
The reason is pretty obvious. I do like the color combo.
My spine shivered when you opened that door
Orrrrrr…..just fix it to be even lol. Anyway when that beautiful senna was about a few inches from being scratched, I almost had a heart attack. BE CAREFUL JEEZ 😂

This is an unusual detail that I have noticed since the time you have collected it and during your first few vids with your Ford GT. But I guess it’s only designed that way for most supercars.
I flinched when he opened the door and it nearly hit the blue car.
At first when I saw the side mirror, was thinking it looks like shoehorn😅
So glad Ford is willing to make something that's likely not profitable but iconic as a large manufacturer its smart to make something that is iconic for the brand.
Me never seeing a ford gt in person…. I’m stunned!
One day your gonna accidentally open the ford GT door and hit the senna I’m calling it lol
That passenger side mirror used to be more forward. They produced them and the mirror would hit the front fender when opened all of the way.
"You'll see it everytime..." This is my 1st time seeing this model GT40, probably my last (ill never see one in person) , so i guess he's right!
Reminds me of the mercedes w124 having uneven sized mirrors, pretty cool
I’m never going to need to worry about that. The mirrors match on my CAMRY.
That door next to the Senna made me.... whhooooossshhh
Reminds me of the rear view mirror on a Ferrari F50. It was a really strange shape. Presumably to get the most out of the limited view out of the back?
Ah shmee rocking the moonswatch
2 words…American cars
I just paused the video to run out to my garage to check this for myself....then realized I have a Toyota!! Damn it!!!
Not only was I wincing when that door was so close to the Senna, I almost shat myself when I saw it.
This is very common. Mirrors don’t need to be on a level and really they shouldn’t be. It’s about the distance and angle to the drivers seat. Nothing about that involves them sitting in the same place on either side
I winced and went "oooooohhhh!"
I have a Maisto Diecast model of this car, and they missed this detail.
Genuine consumer advise
As soon as you showed the second side, I already knew it had to do with making it possible to use.
WHOA!!!!! That door almost became a nationally wanted criminal
See 3-4 inches are just perfect
The mirrors is same at XJ220
I understand about the mirrors but what I want to say is about the color of the car wow 😲
My God. I've always ALWAYS dreamed of owning one. Noneless being able to just drive one
There's no reason they couldn't make it match the other side and still be the best function for the driver. Being it's a Ford I'm not surprised it's like this.
The new Ford GT has the best looking headlights among the current cars in my opinion
Most of us won't be around cars that are that expensive long enough to notice, let alone notice all the time even if we know about
Those headlights look cool af
I've never stopped it cause I have never peeped one in person for long enough to see anything
I never knew. But it bothers me now that I do.
I probably won't, cause I've never seen a GT outside of this or a video game, but I'll be on the look out next time I see it
Gorgeous car...!!! Dream car
That why I drive a Yugo. Cemetery at road handling at it finest!
Similar to the Corvette having a longer mirror attachment on the right side for more visibility.
