Stardance by Michael Sweeney

Michael Sweeney is one of the leading contemporary composers of today. He has made thousands upon thousands of marching band arrangements, along with writing tons of his own compositions, which are nothing to scoff at. Stardance utilizes the sound capabilities of a large auditorium or concert hall by calling for the wind players to move to different spots in the hall and playing from their spot.

The first trumpets in my band have always been a pretty tight-knit group. Sadly, the closest we every came to creating lyrics for this song was "Swag swag swag muffin, swag swag swag muffin, swag swag swag muffin, swag swag swag muffin, swag swag swag muffin, swag swag swag muffin, swag swag swag muffin, swiggity swaggity swag muffin."

1-2 1-2 1-2-3, the parts that he's putting lyrics to are written in 7/8. I played this last summer in the K State summer band, it's been stuck in my head for like two months and I just remembered the name of it lol

My band memorized the beginning and played it while standing in various places in tge audience. Did anyone else's band do that, or was it a Dr. Valiquette thing?

Being section leader of the trumpets, (obvious best totally no sarcasm) I feel obligated to convince my band teacher to give us this. Oh my gosh it's amazing!

It's quite fun as the Euphonium as well, we play almost the exact same thing as trumpets a lot of the time, but we have some soaring melodies and features, it's quite amazing. When we played this, it was the first time I was ever part of a band with more than one Euphonium, which was quite an amazing experience.
