    It is unbelievable net skills that Momota is showing in the short clip. How is getting those back from the floor so close to the net?

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  3 роки тому +54

      It was unbelievable! So relaxed and an incredible amount of spin on the shuttle too!

    • @rb-ex
      @rb-ex 3 роки тому +3

      momota is unbelievable at the net but those returns are not impressive. yes they make it over the net but they are hit very high. despite a little action on the shuttle every one of those would be killed in a match. in actual play momota takes the shuttle high and early and repeatedly uses the net to keep his opponent from dictating pace from the back of the court. it's one of the tools he uses to prevent his opponents from playing the game they want to play

    I have watched a number of v-logs uploaded by players about the All England tournament. Yours is by far, the most enjoyable and educational sharing. A well struck balance of meaningful conversations + analysis, actual tournament experience and match footage. Could also witness how both of you put into actual play, the previous sharing you did about doubles positioning. Wonderful really. As usual, insightful and humorous. Thank you! =)

    Can you guys explain the timing on gym session? What it's for, stretching timing? How to recover after a game

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  3 роки тому +1

      The purpose of the gym session is just to get the body moving and activated, if there's a bike or something available then we'll use that. We'll also do a more thorough stretch than what we would do as part of our warm-up.
      The timing is more difficult - if we were playing first thing in the morning we wouldn't do this, however playing late at night like we were just means we're going into the match not feeling like we've just sat down in our hotel room all day and feeling lazy/sluggish!

    If hadn’t been for co-vid 19 would the English players been allowed to practice in the main hall to get use to the conditions i.e the drift?
    I liked the bit in the second vlog how you analyse your opponents.
    Did Kento give you any tips?
    Who impressed you most this year?
    Thanks again for the insight to a tournament 😊

      We did get to practice in the main hall the day before play started! We showed a little bit of this in our 1st vlog!
      He didn't give us any tips no, his English isn't great though!
      Lee beating Momota was very impressive! Just watching him in the final now!
      Thanks for the comment :)

    I see many coaches go over the tight net shot from a very low net height. will you guys cover the technique used on it as well?

    Great video, always happy to see other professional players 😊
    Never expected you to play versus Momota since I always thought the players usually just practice among their squads. But I guess that makes sense, since some players like Gronya Somerville would have to mix in with some other teams. Well the Japanese definitely have enough people over there though 😂
    Judging from their MD Finals today, they might have gotten a little too adjusted since they just keep getting back every single attack 😄

      Thank you very much 😃 Yeah we train alongside other teams! The Japanese certainly have enough players to train with and what a good MD final it was!
