Got a bit addicted to this UA-cam channel. Lovely to see the firefighters helping each other to replace the oxygen tanks at the end. Great work again!
I am ALWAYS IMPRESSED with Dutch firefighters! Always decisive, fast, and top notch professionals! Outstanding work! Just another (in a long list of reasons) why I wish I lived in The Netherlands! It hurts to think I cannot live in such a wonderful country. I'm stuck in the USA.
Thanks mate!
❤
They are very good, well trained and safe.
Now go watch some videos from the NotJustBikes UA-cam channel and see what else you're missing from our great country! ;)
@@MichielKlaver To be fair I'm more interested in firefighting.😀
I like the concept of having their supply lines connected to a three-way splitter. This set-up allowed them to purge the air out of the line while also connecting two smaller (easy to manage) hand lines. Using the two smaller lines, one firefighter tackled the primary fire while the other protected the exposure. Brilliant teamwork!
As far as I know it is standard procedure in the whole of Europe.
What was good to see is that on arrival, one fire fighter was on the truck and the other fire fighter was getting water onto the adjacent building with with a large fire next to him. Great demonstration to prevent the spread and protect further assets from burning. Good job guys.
the truck was lost anyways, so the building needs to be saved. Another job well done here.
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂🤣
Onze vrachtwagens Verbranden heel weinig 🤣
Ons vlees is vast voor u voorgegaard.
It’s kind of unusual not seeing Dutch mates using foam. Congrats and stay safe, from an Italian colleague!
I've seen a few of your videos and others from the Netherlands and like some others have said, always really impressed with the quality of your scene managment and responses. Teams working well and great approaches, coming from a marine background it's great to see the really high quality and lengthy footage from actual incidents and not just training montages. Thanks for posting these and keep yourselves safe out there!
Very quick thinking to cool down the wall at the beginning, shows that the firefighters are well trained and probably have long experience.
Respect from germany
Very good work, rapid action with the water. This was in Urk!
Nice stop with great exposure coverage! 👍
mooie inzet, bijzondere gevaren herkend...banden, brandstoftank, lading. Niks mis mee! :-)
Bijna De Ommele in de fik! Goed gewerkt, mannen!
So lucky that property's window was blocked up and it was a brick building or that could of been much worse. 🇬🇧👍
Great team work and protecting the surrounding property.
Have fun reloading all that hose
Good job!
Lekker gebraden vlees!
Mooi werk👌🏻
it's crazy that the crowd don't really care they're just hanging around especially the ones standing down wind inhaling the smoke lol
Goede samenwerking.
Top gewerkt mannen en vrouwen
Nice work. You often use high pressure water and foam in your attacks, but not in this case. What is the reason for that? Asking from California, where high pressure water and foam are rarely used.
We use high pressure hosereels in the UK on the vast majority of fires. Most structure fires are dealt with 2 hosereels and a few CABA wearers. the hosereels are easy to move around inside and we get to work very quick on arrival.
In this case two high pressure lines wouldn't have been enough due to the risk of extension. The fire had grown beyond the point it could be handled with one high pressure line and the other would be reserved to prevent extension. And there is a common misconception about high pressure hose reels. The pressure at the nozzle isn't the same as the pump pressure. Due to the length and bore of the hose the pressure at the nozzle is only about 6 bar (88 psi) at 150 liter (40gal) per minute.
@@mennoregts208 Do you use the same high pressure hose reels as us because we use ours at between 20 and 30 bar pressure and the fact the hosereel is a solid core and 19mm in diameter there is very little pressure loss from pump to branch.
@@mennoregts208 Yep i think thats a really good call that if the fire is too big for 1 hosereel and the other is being used for firefighting on another exposure it would make very good tactical sense to do it. The cab of the lorry is destroyed so you might as well get straight on and fight the fire on multiple fronts. Nice work.
looks like a technical failure of the truck's cooling unit. The truck is a total loss that's why it was great to see one of the guys protecting the building.
Lekker gewerkt mannen!
Dam that sure is a lot hose laid for a truck. This much hose is never used in the 🇺🇸
There are only 3 attack lines laid. They needed one to prevent extension and two to battle the fire. The standard length of an attack hose is 20 meter (aprox. 65 feet) so it may look like much. It's better to stretch an extra line and look back to say that wasn't necessary than losing control of the fire.
Have you not seen any videos of US fire fighters?
@@scottdd2 yes I have and fyi I’m a retired fire/medic from a metro Atlanta. So the answer to your question is yes
Awesome Video! Nice work!
Good job
1:45 i understand why, but LOL :)
Mooie video
Mijn vader werkt bij de Sligro 😂
Als dat geen Urk is.....
Mooi afgeblust
🇴🇲❤️👨🚒👏
klasse
Ik hoor een Gijs!
GOOD JOB GUYS
Hello Fire 24/7
Hi Fire 24/7
Goedkope daf blijkt wederom duurkoop
👌🏽👌🏽
👍🏼👌🏼
I always see Dutch FF using foams. Why in this case foam wasn't used attacking the flames nor protecting the house?
Its depending the equipment in the firetruck. Most likely this department has an “older” truck not yet equipped with a foam installation.
I lf you use foams it give to much trash.
Why use foams on a truck fire when there is no oil or fuel puddle burning?
You have the same effect with only water and lesser environmental damage (most foam can destroy the bacteria in your local purification plant).
It would make sense after the fire is put out if there are fire nests where water can not reach the spots so you apply foam on there.
Also (I can only talk about foam in Germany, do not know which is used in Dutch fire departments) a vehicle of that size has maybe 120 litre of foam on board and the foam has to be 3% mixture to water then you have a work time of 10 minutes or less to put the fire out before you ran out of foam. Using water after that time nullifies the effect of the foam.
A lot of departments don't use foam in general. They have some onboard, but often prefere water. Foam is absolutely not the standard.
@@markusb.2850 Foam has a better cooling capacity than regular water, preventing reignition. The foam used in most of the Netherlands is also biodegradable and does not cause environmental damage.
Dacht eerst even waarom al die zuurstof maskers etc.
Zo overdreven leek me.
What if the tyre blows up...
And yet again a Diesel vehicle on fire.
Hoe is deze brand ontstaan ?
Waar was dit ?
Op Urk
Why no subtitles?
What?😮
"pure smaak uit de zee". well - and roasted during transfer *g*
@@lukas7417 idk. Kan zijn uit respect ofzo idk
Why are you so far away when you open the nozzle? Get up on the truck and shove that nozzle down inside the cab and put that fire out! Fast!!
Don't need to and you have more visibility of what your doing
First responsibility of a firefighter is to come home safe. Why risk your own health to come to the same result as to fight the fire from far away? Also the whole truck with cabin, engine and parts of the superstructure were on fire and you could not exclude the danger of a bursting tire.
And there were three lines in use and the danger of hurting your fellow firefighters with your line were given.
Agree with Markus and the other thing was that the structure / house had bigger priority to cool down
Why do you rarely see US fire fighters arrive with masks on ready to go, walk around with ceiling hooks when there is no need for one, vent a roof that is already self venting? I'd suggest you don't look at US fire fighters as the best of the best when many of their practices are questionable.
@@scottdd2 they would have cut the whole truck and trailer in bits and pieces
Shame no English subs
shame you only can understand English :)
