Megan I’m looking for a CQ expert that can help me with models and basic chemichal structures for supplements. Do you know someone I can talk to? I appreciate your video
i’m taking a computational chemistry research project in high school and i don’t really understand the theoretical portion of it but i really enjoy using linux and qchem LMFAO. i’m studying the C60 fullerene gap :)
im a 1st year student at UCT studying BSc in Computer Science and BSc Chemistry simultaneously, how long will it take me to become a Computational Chemist?
I want to get new computer, what is your recommendations if I want to start en computational chemistry ? I am interesting in new materials ( more interesting in physical chemistry )
Hey Megan, just found your channel and love it! Your humor is gold and the information very helpful. I am a second year chemistry student in the Netherlands (I am german though) and seriously consider to go into this direction. What programming language do you recommend when you want to go into this field? In my third year I can take a minor in data science where I can choose from all sorts of programming languages, data courses, AI etc. So I would love to hear recommendations from you! Furthermore, what does the industry side look like for comp chem? How would you rate career chances (not just industry) in this field compared to other/ traditional fields in chemistry? Also I found the field "chemometrics" at my uni as well. From what I got, it's more about monitoring of chemical plants. If you know about it, how do these subjects differ and for which type of person do you suggest each? Best, Felix
Hey Felix, thanks for your message! These are great questions and I'll make a video answering them. But briefly, I think python is a good language to start with. As for your data science minor, that sounds exciting (especially the AI aspect). I'm aware that chemometrics is data-driven although I'm not familiar with its application of monitoring chemical plants specifically. Interesting, I'll look into it!
Heyy!! amazing video and very very instructive. I would like to ask you why didn't chose chemical engineering over bioengineering with all this interest in chemistry. Both degrees have their differences but I know a lot of chem E who work now in the Biotech sector. As a high school l student who want to make a good impact in the healthcare system I am really hesitating beetwen these two majors. I will maybe chose chemical engineering regard to their role in the production of the energies of future, and their large impact in envorimental problematics
thank you! great question. at my school, chemical engineering is in a separate college (college of chemistry) than bioengineering (college of engineering). So if I wanted to switch, I'd have to switch colleges which is kinda annoying lol. Also, I wasn't interested in the other aspects of chemE (ie pipes and other stuff lol). what I liked most about bioe was the flexibility to pick certain classes that I wanted to take within chemistry while also fulfilling degree requirements. I think i might make a video going into this in more detail, so thanks for the comment!
what programming languages would you recommend learning? im particularly interested in organic chem and dev CC from what ive understood from your videos :))
i found out what a discord is like yesterday. lol here's mine (join if ya want): discord.gg/CM2FDBjzDe

You’re my favourite channel now! Loved this video and learned so much about computational chemistry! I might even pursue it now 🤔
very helpful! i am taking a class on computation materials next semester and your channel is what pushed me to do it!
that's awesome to hear!
I found you very randomly and I sometimes forget you are not a channel with 100E+ subs. **More recognition deserved and needed**
haha thanks for the love :)
@@MeganAmber `I was saying that when you were under 100 subscribers. And it will be true until you reach 1 Million!
Zachary Ertengrass you guys give me faith 🤗

fullerene fundamental gap*
i found your chennel when i seach for computational chemistry in youtube before my exam
Haha hope your exam went well!
Thank you so much for this video. I am a third year undergrad student of chemistry major. I wanna start something new 😊
Lmaoooo love this vid!! You earned a subscriber and thank you for the help!!

kindly discuss some usefull chemistry related to inorganic and computational chemistry.
I'm actually planning to apply for that internship....
Do you think studying data science with computational chemistry is beneficial or waste of time?
what programming languages would you recommend learning? im particularly interested in organic chem and dev CC from what ive understood from your videos :))
C++ , C and python
Great Video!
Do you think studying machine Learning is better than studying quantum mechanics
i like that!
Plz make video about computational biology also
Will you make?
@@shivaygupta2556 yep, working on it!
what an intro... hah
I really like your videos but I think you're overdoing the samples ("OMG" etc.) They are also too loud imo.
Squiderrant true
Okay and... Megan is doing God’s work by giving us the stimulation we need during COVID.
great video!
