Put a drop of blue lock tite on the advance bolt. Not 20 and not within 2 between lobes. Exactly 19 at both lobes is the right spot. I slight tapping on the cam bolt works best to get the correct setting on both lobes. Big twin is very picky on being set exactly at 19 on both lobes. (Especially when kick starting. Set the final timing mark between center and" towards the rear" of the timing hole.
Up to early 80 the dot.is used.for timing afterwards it was the line on the flywheel , threw me for a loop years ago before I actually realized . my Harley manual sez .18 points gap. Can you add more info. Please
