That's beautiful, Ian, but I expected it would no less from you. Happy Father's Day. I wish my dad was still here so I could spend the day with him. Much ✌️, ♥️, & Respect.
With your skill and creativity, you brought out the natural beauty in a piece of wood that others would have used for firewood. Well Done! You made what seemed ordinary, extraordinary...Thank you for sharing.
Hello Ian. It doesn't matter if if the wood is cheap or not. It always depends on the artist what it will be after turning. An artist like you can make the cheapest piece of wood look absolutely stunning while a bloody beginner like me could ruin the most expensive one. You've got a new subscriber. Keep on turning. Greetings from germany
Nice one Ian! I was getting worried though, over 3 minutes into the video before the spindle roughing gouge came out....had me worried! lol Cheers, Dave
Such a clever idea Ian. Reminds me of a large wine carafe. Every time I see you turn Leylandii reminds me I haven't turned any of mine yet. Great video as ever mate. Take care Ian. Cheers, Huw PS Was it green?
Thanks to you I'm really loving Leylandii. I don't think I heard of it before you introduced it to me. Is it plentiful where your from? I have Cedar trees all over my area. I love the smell. Thanks for your videos and sharing your talent.
Thanks very much for your nice comment Jennifer, Leylandii is kind of like a big hedge/bush that you’d put around your property, it’s generally just cut down and not used for anything but the wood is much nicer than you’d think.

Excellent work. I enjoy watching your amazing transformations. All the way from New Zealand.

PS Was it green?
Haha you'll have to have a go at some soon Huw! This was pretty dry but even the wet stuff is great to turn and doesn't crack/warp!

@@IanMacWoodturning you certainly have proved that.
Nice work Ian, love the design. Take care, John. P.S. Looks like you might need a circle cutting jig to make a steady rest. :-)
Haha I know a man who can make one👀
😂😂😂- so do I
Leylandi is a lovely wood if fully seasoned.
Far too much snobbery in woodwork & Woodturning
Agreed! Cheers for your comment Peter.
Lower The Prices of All Wood,That's Too Much $$,Now 500,000%

Is it yew?
It’s Leylandii which is kind of a bush
This looks interesting but with no commentary it is useless.
It’s not an instructional video
You never say what it is
Barry, it says in the description mate. The wood is Leylandii.
Teaching dangerous practices by gripping the rotating wood
I’m not teaching anybody anything..
OK showing people very bad practice
