THE DOORS - Whiskey, mystics and men

- The song released on the 2000 compilation is mostly a studio creation, the vocal parts of Jim Morrison are the same as the ones in the bootleg Missing Links (which is entirely from the February 25th 1969 The Soft Parade session) and overdubs by the surviving The Doors members performed in 1977. Nevertheless, official releases say is from 1970. The track is featured in two distinctly different versions on the remastered 2006 release of The Soft Parade. Version 1 is the later creation, whereas version 2 was recorded "live" in the studio during the recording of the album in 1969.
As a straight man, I can securely say that Jim Morrison was the sexiest human being to ever exist.
idk what your personal sexuality has to do with recognizing sexy in any individual
unless u r afraid of queers or who scared you away from knowing the rare experience of fucking & getting fuck
No DUH, my husband said he'll yeah BELEAVETHAT!!!!!!!!!!.❤️💯🖖LLAP😎
My God yes... Like he was from heaven not of this earth heavenly beauty
For sure❤
Even The Doors demos / rejected material is better than 99% of the current music
lol relax
No for real though this music shaved my life, introduced me to William blake, Friedrich Nietzsche and set me on the path to become a autodizedactic philosopher. Now instead of specializing like every other f*** and getting a degree I actually have knowledge in just about every general area of study that could be thought of in the whole of humanity and it started with Jim Morrison.
Best 💯
@@ohmbasa you are correct 💯 been into the doors since I was a child 1967 and still am very much in the early -middle eighty's I use to take LSD and contact distance planets with doors music 🎵🎶 I've done time in the universal mind !!!!!!!
Amen
Here is a huge fan of The Doors. It is my first time hearing this anthem. Wonderful.

You listen to The Doors because you are free.
A-fucking-men dude.
@Ξανθη Γιατρα yep same, wicked times we in, very wicked times, we need to change but we don't know how ✌️🤟❤️
@Ξανθη Γιατρα i don't know man.. i think some type of bad influences are surrounding ourselves, only few are searching the real freedom, we don't like each other, maybe the sistem maybe the nature of human being but I'm sure we will win. The power of love will destruct the love for the power ❤️🤟✌️
@Ξανθη Γιατραyess! Love from Italy ❤️ Grecia and Italia brothers and sisters

I'd be nice if radio stations would play more of this ...

Music is a sign of the times, and right now the times are shit
The most wonderful thing ever appeared on earth: James Douglas Morrison.
The Doors are the greatest band of all time. RIP Jim and Ray. Pam.
Dude I just saw your comment and I googled it I had no clue manzarek died. Shit man
The Doors are the greatest band of all time.
I could listen to this for 30 minuts. This is epic.
Jim was a true rock legend. He is simply the greatest. Taken way to young
with a few beers and some whiskey this song comes to life
He seemed like the coolest person on earth. We need him back.
Wherever you are, thanks Jim. Thank you for your lyrics. Thank you for your legacy.
Cinnamon Juice Perfect.
Hello from south italy..
Jim for all my life...!!!
Another thing. I loved the Soft Parade. There was a period of about 25 years where it was my favorite album by far I didn’t know this song could have been on that album . I loved every album the Doors put out with Jim. I liked the two albums without Jim. But without Jim it’s no longer The Doors anymore. It’s 3 very great musicians without there soul. It’s got to be the toughest thing to be such a great band one day to being unable to match the success they had experienced with James Douglas Morrison. I was only 5 years old when he died. I already had their first album because my dad was a rock and roll DJ. So I pretty much grew up listening to them my whole life. My pops also got me into Elvis and Johnny Cash while my mom turned me onto The Beatles and a band called The Sweet. But it was The Doors I gravitated to the most. Even today they’re still my favorite band but until a week ago I never got to hear this song. What a treat!!!!! Thanks pops for turning me onto America’s greatest rock band ever!
I was born ten years after Jim died. But my parents liked The Doors and other rock bands, so I knew them since I was born. Dad gave me a book about Jim, that one hasn't been published in Finland many times. He has dementia now, sometimes I take the book with me when I visit them and show it to dad. Asking does he remember he gave it to me, does he remember he liked The Doors etc. We look at the pictures, he says he doesn't remember much about anything, but he smiles when he sees a photo of Jim Morrison and we talk about them. He remembers something about The Doors and Jim, and still likes to talk about them.
Tanja Karvinen that’s really incredibly cool in my book. I took care of my dad for 8 1/2 years. He was diabetic and developed dementia to a point it became too dangerous for him to live alone. So I moved in because he didn’t want to end up in an old folks home. If there’s one thing I’m most proud of is giving him his wish to stay at home . My sister who he left everything to wouldn’t help hardly at all. It was completely my choice to either help him or he looses his freedom more or less. I can say it wasn’t too fun and at points it was severely overwhelming. I went to classes for diabetes, I asked hundreds of questions, I ran back and forth to the VA. And other dr. Apts.. No matter what I wasn’t going to let my pops down. I hope your father is well and if your able try to stimulate his mind because you can slow dementia down in the early to mid stages. But once it goes too far it’s similar to taking care of a large baby unfortunately. Good luck!!
@@robert.m4676 you are amazing, I really respect you. Situation with my dad is bad, he has forgotten so much. And there are so many things he can't do. That's why it's so cool he remembers The Doors. He likes old photos and music. So I always take the book with me. And try to find good rock songs my mother can listen with him. He played guitar so I try to find songs with good guitar. Mom likes the same stuff. When dad found the book, there was only one left. He wanted to keep and give it to me. He decided to give it to me. That's my dad. I also understand you a little. My husband has problems with memory. Only 39, but he was alcoholic for a long time when he was younger, some damage is his brains because of that. He doesn't drink anymore and situation won't get worse if he never drinks anymore. But I have to take care of many things. And remind him of many things. When he travels to see his parents, his mom wants me to come with him. So stress to her. Sometimes I feel like damn only five days! I am 38, a little rest couple times a year would ne nice... And her son, damn...Take care, you are amazing person. And I guess we well listen to The Doors until the end😊if Morrison coul have known all this...
Tanja Karvinen wow I just read your reply! I don’t know how I missed this but I happened to see your reply. Well I have to say that your amazing right back at you. Do the best you can and it sounds like you do. Your pops is lucky to have you for a daughter. I can tell you have a very sweet soul. I always try to find people who have decency in their hearts and you truly fit the bill. I drank some till I was 29 so I can relate to your husband to a degree. I really couldn’t stand getting drunk anymore and I haven’t touched alcohol in years. I do not miss it one bit. But I’ll never ever give up my Doors. I pray your pops lives many years and you as well. Try to have fun when you can and do some nice things for yourself whenever you’re able. It’s a full time job caring for your love one but don’t forget about yourself. Keep being seeet, it’s a beautiful trait that some may never experience which is sad. May God bless you the rest of your days! Maybe we’ll meet in Heaven. Till then take care!
jim morrison....unico,inimitabile,il piu'grande dei grandi...nessuno mai sara'come lui...è qualcosa di paranormale..capace di far venire la pelle d'oca.....immenso......ciao jim

Sublime poetry. Whene I hear these song, I feel in the middle age...One of the most misterious and mystical songs.
48 years ago and you are living in my heart and in my mind. For ever young Jim
The Lizard King can do anything...
+drumstick74 I love how they took poetry and put classic Doors music to it.
+drumstick74 A journey into ultimate ego, seriously what a boundary destroyer he was
drumstick74 Through the '80s and into the '90s people kept writing "Mr Mojo rising" on the fence in front of his old house on Laurel Canyon and the city kept coming around to paint over the "graffiti".
He most certainly can ..I had some let's say strange experiences when I got a little too into his realm for lack of a better word
brilliant
so..., show me the way to the next whisky bar... 🥃🇨🇱
That's a great one too.
