This amp is great, but wow what a godawful tone in this video. Incredibly shrill.

It's a great tone for 80s hair metal.
Probably because of UA-cam's compression. You have to be in the room to really hear the raw sound

Actually the amp is crap, I just bought one and it went straight back, as this was exactly the sound I was getting from it, wooly, I was expecting a drive that I could use but it just was not there.
@@petergedd9330 then you’re settings or cable setup is wrong as it’s a fantastic amp and you can get some beautiful tones from it, as I’m sure you know as you would have done some research on it and heard others play it online etc, no?

Way to sound like a lawnmower chewing on some wasps or what. Were you paid to promote Marshall, or intentionally try and make the amp look like crap? Because I could have dialed a better tone when I was 12 years old.
In reality this little box is pretty damn cool. It makes playing at home with a few band mates a pleasure and whilst I am Marshall biased, I'd still rate it as a favourite. Its just well put together and delivers great tone. A pity you let this train wreck pass as advertisement. Flying around recommendations lists here and there and not doing it justice at all.

I agree. It's not the amp though. It's the mixing. Wayyyyy too much treble. Maybe it sounded good in person, but in this video it sounds like a can of bees
I looked up other videos of this amp and some sound pretty good. I am considering getting the amp. So, I figured that it must be the recording itself--hopefully. Maybe he cranked up the presence? Very buzzy, harsh and brittle yet muddy. In order to get this kind of sound, though, a Metal Zone through a Peavey Bandit might get a better tone. An old Carvin MTS with clipping diodes sounds better than this recording.
@@Millo1868 bad mic positioning kills the tone.i think he was playing too quiet (marshall tend to be thin at low volumes) plus the mic was probably too on the center of the cone
I have this amp AND a Lea Paul Traditional 2018 and this dude’s settings or the recording aren’t doing the gear any justice.

Well, the jury has decided. Guilty as charged, of fizzy tone settings, on all counts.
It’s cause this dumbass doesn’t know how to dial in a tone, you gotta crank the master volume and use the volumes on the channels to adjust it, also this guy needs to turn the treble down

Ditto. I miss mine. Even with all their flaws, they have a certain charm and smell that no other guitar has.
I have exactly the same guitar and I am waiting for a DSL40cr to be delivered. I really hope that bass was rolled off or something in this video, because it sounds like a fizzy can of bees.

I love it.Thankfully it sounds nothing like in this video. It's not fizzy at all. I also had the previous model but I didn't like the gain structure, it was too shrill for me. They've done an excellent job with the CR. The speaker is awesome and the amp has the best effects loop I've ever used.
Made my ears hurt listening to that ice pick tone...

I've got this amp and I've always been a Marshall guy but the Fender Bassbreaker 15 combo blows this away. The only downfall to the Fender is it's not foot-switchable for channel change.

Check out trying to fix the BassBreaker 15 combo…you won’t like it then. Absolute bitch to fix! Terrible design, but does sound nice while it’s still working.

@@johnrichards7360 I haven’t had any trouble out of it but I have the dsl 40cr too and the bassbreaker is nowhere near as fizzy and brittle as the dsl.

I am a Custom Shop guy when it comes to Gibson Les Pauls... I played one of these Blueberry Traditionals at my local GC and I could not put it down. I ended up having to buy the damn thing because of how well I bonded with it. Beautiful guitar and quality craftsmanship for a Gibson USA guitar

Wow I just bought a standard and was sad I couldn't find any more blueberry burst ones and then I find this.
For those upset about the tone of this amp (I was as well when watching this), I purchased this exact same Marshall and the exact same Les Paul Traditional in Blueberry Burst from GC yesterday. The guitar: amazing playability, beautiful tone as well as finish. From the little that I’ve had to play with the amp, I’m in love. This video definitely doesn’t do either justice. Go try them both out, you won’t be disappointed.
i think it probably sounded great in the room to the player in this video, but when you mic right up to a speaker the treble may be too high with his settings

Terrible Injustice done to both guitar and amplifier in my opinion... I own two of the DSL 40c amps and trust me, they sound much better than what you hear here...
@@donwade-di8ny I’ve since sold my DSL40. I probably should’ve just put a different speaker in it. I also put different pickups in my Les Paul. Sounds pretty good running through a blackface Bassman and a KEELEY super phat mod!

Yes, on the DSL40CR you can plug a headphones into the emulator out in the back.

i never knew there was a 2016 Tradtional Blueberry Burst. I have a Standard Blueberry Burst because i thought it was a rare color but i was mistaken.

Good on you I really wanted the blueberry standard but couldn't find one. I got a nice 2016 light burst though I've fallen in love with.
i was so happy they did a traditional for this finish lol i was not about the whole coil split and light weight and all that but its a awesome color for sure!

Do you have a demo video of this amp with better sound recording and tone? It’s a great amp and this video simply doesn’t do it justice. If you don’t like it then make your own demo and quit bitching it makes you look like a jealous little twat
