This is super cool! The US (I'm assuming it's held in the US?) definitely needs more events like these. Where can people find information about these type of events? I would've wanted to go watch in person but never even knew of it. I'm sure there could've been a bigger crowd with a superstars and legends like Lee Yong Dae and Tony Gunawan there!

At their age LYD and TG are still lethal.

Yet Hendra Setiawan is four years older than LYD and is far more "lethal" :P

@@mugdays Hendra's style of play allow him to play for much longer even if he wasn't always top3 back in the golden era. When LYD was playing with JJS (RIP) and then JJS... the competition was very fierce with CY/FHF, KKK/TBH, etc... the speed and intensity at which LYD played against those teams would be much more taxing physically than how Hendra Setiawan was playing. Don't get me wrong, Ahsan/Setiawan definitely was still very competitive among the top6 at that time, but he has never been a physical player. Setiawan was mainly a net player focused on interception and pace change, both of which he does extremely well. He almost never lift the shuttle compared to other players... it was always kept low and varied in order to keep the offensive advantage. Overall, the calmer and intelligent badminton he was playing allow him to keep going all the way til now. We clearly see Ahsan having to slow down since he was the more physical in the pairing back then. But now, years later when most have retired, these 2 beasts are still trucking on strong. I reckon we will see their retirement within 1-2 years, but it has been an absolute clinic to see them school the young generation on the circuit these past few years :)
