I’m a feminist, but I think that men need to be involved as well, to teach guys like you that think shooting a man who betrayed her is the same as killing many people for sport. It’s a harsh standard you are imposing on her.

Oh the irony, did Solanas ever realize that her inability to write rationally fits into the stereotype that women are illogical beings that need to be tamed and or controlled. She writes purely in an angry emotive tone (stereotype again) which ultimately weakens any legitimacy in her arguments as pure fantasy and is discussed as a parody and satire of the aims of feminism. If anything Solanas represents the most radical branch of Feminism that ultimately ignores the experiences of most women and men in society and therefore causes them to reject feminism in all it's forms. Solanas and many other radical feminists make it easy for women and men to associate feminism as a synonym for a movement that is about being anti-sex, mannish type lesbians who are man-hating. This isn't about equality, it's about replacing patriarchy and male privilege into matriarchy and female privilege. Many early feminists would be shocked at what the movement turned into.

Men can not understand what effect a rape can have on a woman, the full atrocity of such an action. It is easy for you to speak, but you can't understand. I would say that the best parallels with Solaris was Marquis DeSade. Both wrote about massive amounts of graphic violence, as well as long philosophical rationalizations for it. Both engaged in some violence, but nothing compared to what they wrote about. Both spent time in mental institutions. Both were considered to be writing their real opinions by some, very dark satire by others. Both lived in very turbulent times. Both were sexually unconventional. And so on.

If you're going to campaign against men fighting in wars, keep in mind that feminists are not responsible for that. It's the countries' governments that issue drafts, and the majority of those government officials are men. That also raises the question: Do you see it as an improvement that the military is now comprised of about 15% women? I read an interesting article about how the "no women in combat" rule is not well enforced, and is circumvented often.

Valerie Solanas didn't identify as a feminist. And how the hell are women responsible for a misogynistic man being mad that women wouldn't fuck him?? And do you honestly believe that a woman hating men in general due to her insane abuse and repeated sexual assault and mistreatment is the other side of the same coin as a man hating women because he think that he's supposed to be able to own women like property and use for his sexual gratification? I mean it IS one of the rules of misogyny: "women are responsible for men's actions" so it makes sense that you'd unironically think that way. But also this comment is 7 years old; so maybe you don't still believe in sexist false equivalences idk
